Reviews for Marker 1 Marina
Oustanding Service, 2017-06-17
Captain: , Naples (70)

The service here was absolutely outstanding!! By staying at the marina, they gave us a $.25 discount per gallon off the diesel. Just be aware, the diesel price quoted is without taxes!! Tne dock hand stayed with us until everything was tied off and power was up and running. Depths were never less than 8' and there is plenty of room for a 40' Trawler to spin around to tie off on the outside dock. We at at a great restaurant called Frenchy's, just over the bridge, about a 10 minute walk. Bathrooms could use a little sprucing up, but otherwise were just fine. Overall great experience!!

Nice Marina But Lots of Daytime Wakes, 2017-03-26
Captain: , Kemah Texas (389)

The transient dock is a fixed tie-a-long on the outside of the marina, on the same pier as the fuel dock. It seems most FL power boaters do not understand some part of "no wake zone" so during the daytime you get waked at least once every 10 minutes. However, the marina and staff are great. Docks are in good shape if somewhat uneven. Everyone was very friendly.

Publix, Dollar General and Walgreens are within a 15 minute walk.

Nice Facility but busy, 2017-02-03
Captain: , Nashville, TN (273)

Nice facility and location for access to basics and trolley and greenway trail for biking and walking. Busy place with a dry storage facility and boat sales. Business focus is definately on their dry storage/wet slips and sales vs. transients. Restrooms and showers at marina office are rudimentary but the facilities near the pool (adjacent to the boat sales office) are 1st class. Stayed 2 days on the transient lay along near the fuel dock. WiFi not working on the docks during our 2 days but nobody at the marina seemed to care. Was able to connect at the ships store and weather was nice so sitting outside was not a problem.

very dog friendly, 2017-01-23
Captain: , Eagle (292)

I agree with the previous reviewer's except I wanted to add the sweet attitude toward our dog. They were always ready with a treat and a kind word. Thank you Elayne, Jill, Jennifer and Tempie.

Great and getting better, 2016-11-16
Captain: , Jacksonville Fl (1550)

Fabulous place after Gulf crossing. Friendly helpful staff, great acess to most anything needed. Bike trail from Tarpon to Clearwater and a good trolley if you don't want to pedal. Very clean facility, night security had docks washed every morning well before sunup. Top notch place.

Great Place, 2016-11-15
Captain: , Oregon, WI (80)

We stayed at Marker 1 from August 29th through October 7th. We made it through Hurricane Hermine and the boat made it through Hurricane Matthew. The staff here is wonderful, from Tempie through Ryan in service. We were rookies coming in, they were at our slip to meet us and to provide lines and help in a high wind situation. Restrooms are clean and neat, location is convenient. Would suggest a courtesy car for grocery shopping but we will definitely be back!

Always a Great Stop, 2016-08-13
Captain: , New Port Richey (310)

Easy in and easy out. This marina will help anyway possible and the AGLCA harbor host is top notch. Keep up the great work. Thanks

Helpful staff, good location, 2016-06-12
Captain: , Dunedin, FL (7375)

We stayed at Marker 1 for 6 months, waiting on a slip closer to home to open up. Staff always very helpful, will come out to take your lines if you call. Small pool on site, clean restrooms / showers. Good wifi, both 2.4 & 5G. Close to Honeymoon Island beaches, Pinellas Trail, Publix, Walgreens, liquor store, vet, banks, golf course. Donuts on Saturday morinings, nice covered picnic area with use of grill. Boat draft can be an issue, call ahead. But a 42' Nordic Tug drawing 4'7" was slipped next to us, coming in and out of the harbor on several occasions.

Nice Jumping off point, 2016-04-20
Captain: , Paducah KY (183)

Nice location when preparing to make the north bound gulf crossing. We have stayed here twice and as mentioned the finger piers sre very short and the basin is very shallow. Most of the staff were very nice.

Great facility and staff, 2016-03-27
Captain: , Louisville, TN (30)

We enjoyed our stay, traveled by bus to nearby towns and enjoyed the pool and nearby restaurant. The most important event was when I discoved an exhaust system problem on our boat. The staff immediately contacted Allen Pitman of Pitman Yacht Services. They came the next day, diagnosed everything needed, got the parts from around the U.S. and had us ready to go two days later. They did a first class job at a fair price. Our thanks to the Marker 1 staff and Pitman Yacht Services.

Very nice Marina, 2016-03-15
Captain: , Palmetto (422)

Agree with the many positive comments of other reviewers. The staff was great, the facilities clean, the location good.

Some good, some bad, 2016-02-25
Captain: , Buffalo (1154)

First the good. The place is very clean, and the staff is mostly very helpful. The docks are in excellent condition, and the location is great, with grocery and pharmacy only a short walk away.

But the basin has no protection from the south, and even strong west winds caused a 1 1/2 ft swell in the marina. The water is very shallow, and with our 4 1/2 ft draft we were on the bottom at low tide. The docks have mostly short finger piers which made getting on and off the boat very difficult. And don't think that you can leave your car here while you travel on. The rule is that parking is allowed only while your boat is there.

All in all, we paid for a week, but left after 5 days, with no rebate. We will not be back.

Great Stay, 2016-01-20
Captain: , Indian Rocks Beach (296)

We spent a weekend here recently. Great facility and very helpful staff. Lots of transient slips available. Areas for groups to gather both inside and out, nice pool, showers, good nearby restaurants and downtown Dunedin is only a short uber ride away.

Very nice marina, 2016-01-08
Captain: , Grand Rivers, Ky (2206)

Kept our boat here for 3 ยน/2 weeks while visiting family two weeks. Didn't worry about the boat while we were gone marina is patrolled 27/7. Inside slips can be skinny for boats over 4ft draft. No protection from south wind, if you're on the wall you are going to get beat up. WiFi is poor. Clean facility.

Great Marina, 2016-01-08
Captain: , Boyd, Texas (390)

Were here in November. Great price for loopers. Very helpful dockhands. Enjoyed our stay.

Great Place to Stay, 2016-01-05
Captain: , Egg Harbor Wi (70)

The staff at Marker 1 are the best! They went out of their way to meet and greet us, ask if there is anything extra that they can do and were wonderful with acquainting us with the Dunedin area. We were placed in the first slip next to the gas dock, not generally our first choice, but it turned to be the best slip with extra wide dock space for us and our dog, Gus, who "works the dock"! One of our first mornings as we exited the boat, Gus found two bones next to his water dish. This was courtesy of Nicki, who enjoyed Gus, as well as, Gio, Corrine and other dock aides. They all declared that Gus was a keeper and they needed a dock dog like him. We were fortunate to stay a month and departure was sad for we truly had found wonderful and genuine poeple at Marker 1 Marina. They do everything well!

Magnificent marina, 2015-12-28
Captain: , Winter Park (491)

We had our boat here for 17 days- part of that was an 8 day trip home for Christmas. We felt very comfortable leaving our boat here. Between the night security guards Joe & Jose, the terrific staff, and other Loopers present we always felt it and we were safe and protected.
Our only negatitive is the poor wifi - very intermittent coverage - otherwise we would give this 5 stars.
The bike path near the marina provides a nice ride to downtown Dunedin, and no excuses for not exercising! If you head west over the causeway bridge the sidewalk takes you to Honeymoon island and a nice small cove good for a dip in the water or paddle boarding.

All other reviews about grocery, general shopping and restaurants we echo!
Do yourself a favor and stop here!

Cautionary Tale, 2015-12-16
Captain: , Beverly, MA (1242)

This is a very good marina, however, after many days traveling and out of comunication, one comes to expect a good WiFi service. This marina WiFi service is terrible. There is skinny water here, some boats in the sand (<5 ft) at a minus tide. Tieing up to the outside wall during a south wind is exposed and can be very bumpy.

Very convenient for fueling, 2015-12-14
Captain: , High Springs, FL (848)

I stopped in to fuel up my dinghy on 3/21 and was met by a very helpful gentlemen and returned on 3/22 to fuel up with 100 gallons of diesel in the big boat. Nice and easy tie up to the dock with no issues.

I didn't notice it until paying but the diesel price does not include tax.

Updated - On 8/8/15 we were northbound on a 75nm trip and encountered heavy storms moving through the area and I called to see if we could tie up to wait for them to pass. Two very helpful young ladies met me at the dock and helped me tie up, offering power and water duting our wait. Two hours later the weather had passed and we were back on our way.

This is the type of hospitality that makes a difference.

Updated 12/13/15 - We again stopped by Marker 1 and the service was just as great. The fuel prices have gone down a bit which makes taking on more diesel easier on the wallett.

Accomodating!!!!, 2015-11-16
Captain: , fairhope, alabama (174)

Stayed a week first of November. Great facility and staff above and beyond helpful. Convenient location to grocery and restaurants.

Always ready to serve, 2015-09-06
Captain: , Marker One (10)

A few of the dock hands may come and go but the service remains outstanding. Great group of people.

Good Stop for Dunedin, 2015-04-23
Captain: , Pensacola, FL (695)

Nice Marina with good facilities. Transient dock is fixed tie along. Easy access to both transient and fuel dock. Decent fuel price compared to what we saw in Tarpon Springs. May want to ask for an inside slip if expecting weather or wind from the south as the transient dock is pretty exposed from that direction. Great bike trail to Dunedin. Ok for walking dogs but not great. Individual lockable bathrooms and showers. Will stay here prior to and after crossing the big bend area in the future.

Watch depth at low tide, 2015-04-21
Captain: , Naples, FL (682)

This is a great marina in a convenient location for crossing to/from Carrabelle or coming south from Cedar Keys. Not as far off the ICW as Tarpon Springs. Old Dunedin is worth a visit.

Marina facilities are clean and well maintained but there is only one washer and dryer that seemed to be in use constantly.

Water depth can be a problem. We had 5ft of water at the marina channel entrance at low tide (-0.8ft) and ended up on the mud as soon as we berthed in our assigned slip. Marina knew our draft but did not know the particular slip was shallow. A new slip was offered immediately but we were on the mud anyway and shutdown so we decided to stay put. Staff were generally very helpful and friendly, and were quite apologetic about our situation. Next time I'll spend more time quizzing the staff about the depth in the assigned slip.

Great stop when crossing the gulf., 2015-03-11
Captain: , Cincinnati (252)

Whether you are crossing to or crossing from the panhandle this an easy stop. Nice staff and well maintained marina. If your looking for entertainment stop in Tarpon Springs. If you want easy in and out along with very competive fuel prices this your place. We had no problem with depth at the face dock, but it was bit rough.

Marker 1 - Excellent location and service, 2015-02-26
Captain: , Maryland Heights, MO (314)

Marker 1's location is superb - groceries and excellent restaurants are a short walk away, the Pinellas Bike trail offers quick access to Tarpon Springs to the North and downtown Dunedin and Clearwater to the south, and you're within a couple miles of two outstanding state parks. Better yet, this is a first-rate facility and the staff was extremely helpful during our month-long stay in January 2015.
During some of the very low tides (1+ ft below datum), we saw 4 feet; so be aware if you draw more than that.

Great people - skinny water - Beware long term contract cancel fee, 2015-02-10
Captain: , palm harbor (190)

We planned on moving our boat here from georgia. There was no slip available and planned on being on the face dock. With the tides and wind it was obvious that we had to get in a slip. Since I have a 22ft beam there are not many options. Tellie advised me that a slip opened so we moved into it. With fixed docks and a 36 ft slip it was difficult to secure bow lines across due to the slip width. They have a lot of power boats here that fit nicely in the well kept docks. Approach to the marina is skinny at low tide and stay close to the marina when making the turn north to the docks as it is skinny to the east.
We planned on making this our home marina but docking issues forced us to move.

NOTE: Marker 1 charges a 20% fee of remaining contract if you cancel a long term contract prior to the end of the term regardless of the reason. For this reason I moved their rating from 4 to 3.

Shallow Depth at Face Dock!, 2015-01-21
Captain: , Chattanooga TN (400)

Face dock has filled in and there is less than 4 feet at low tide. Dock master assured us there was 7 feet at the docks. We had 3 feet with a north wind and full moon. Facilities are nice but we had to leave after first night due to the depth at the docks.

Captains Jim and Mimi on Perfect Balance Dec. 2014, 2015-01-06
Captain: , Hamilton, Ontario Canada (22)

Excellent facilities with great access tp bike trails and shopping. Honeymoney Island and Caledesi State Park just a short dingy ride. Staff are very friendly and make every attempt to no everyones name. Only thing that could have made it better is if the pool was heated.

Excellent Marina For Loopers, 2014-12-07
Captain: , Hampton, VA (314)

This marina caters to loopers. Every evening we met another half dozen loopers for happy hour and/or pot luck dinner. The marina provided tables, chairs, and a grill. The staff was most helpful. Dunedin's historic district was a 2 mile walk along a nice trail with restrooms and water along the way. Provisioning is easy.

Great Cruising Stop, 2014-09-20
Captain: , Temple Terrace, FL (234)

Marina first class. Staff helpful. Groceries and restaurants short walk. Nice pool area. Great pedestrian trail to walk or jog. Look forward to our return visit.

Another excellent Florida marina, 2014-04-15
Captain: , Rosston, PA (100)

Very nice facility and staff. All good. Be careful on approach and around marina. I'm relatively sure that we were on bottom at low tide on the transient dock (4'-9" draft).

pleasent stay, 2014-03-30
Captain: , iuka,ms (222)

we knew steve the harbormaster from bay point in panama city so i expected a good operation. i wasn't dissapointed. the marina is well run the whole crew is very helpful, the showers/bathrooms are pristine and the looper monthly rental is very fair.. Dunedin is a very unique town and the pinellis bike trail is amazing I hope to return next fall

First Rate Stopover..., 2014-03-11
Captain: , Pensacola (460)

We only intended to stay for a week but liked it so much that we stayed for a month. The marina facilities were very clean and the staff couldn't be better. Steve (the Dockmaster) runs a tight ship and it shows! He is also very customer-oriented, which is appreciated.

The marina is in a great location, particularly if you like to explore by bicycle. Honeymoon Island State Park and Dunedin (a charming town) are a short bike ride away, and the trolley runs to Tarpon Springs and Clearwater Beach on Friday-Sunday. There is a Publix and Walgreens only about a 1/2 mile away, along with access to the public bus system (PSTA) which was very good for venturing out further.

We loved it at Marker One Marina and hope to return.

Marker 1 is number ONE, 2014-02-26
Captain: , Elk Grove, IL (10)

We stopped for convenience for a one-night stay. Ended up staying for several nights. The marina is apparently under new management and ownership. They have a beautiful marina. Staff is hugely friendly and helpful. I had some minor service work done and it was quick, and reasonable. Docks are great, and other boaters were very friendly. Restrooms and showers were clean as a whistle...but a bit dated.
We'd definitely come back.

Great place to stop for awhile, 2014-02-20
Captain: , Satellite Beach, Fl. (125)

We thoroughly enjoy the town of Dunedin with all it's charms. Make sure you bring a bike to ride on the Pinellas Trail......all 37 miles of it. Lots of things to do at this marina and in the surrounding area. Easy access to all essentials and a great staff to boot. We heartily recommend you stop and visit a spell.

Safe, Professional, 2014-01-21
Captain: , MV Red Head (3106)

Looking for a safe place to keep your boat? Whether you want to stop for a spell and enjoy some downtime, get some of those boat projects done, or if you need to leave your boat while you travel to family or business, Marker 1 Marina is the perfect choice. You can feel confident your boat will be safe and secure. The staff knows boats and will keep an eye on things for you. The facilities are well kept, a shopping center complete with a Publix is easy walking distance, and if you have bikes onboard you can take a ride to Honeymoon Island beach or enjoyed a good walk. Our favorite evening pastime was watching the beautiful sunsets!

With a staff that is willing to go the extra mile, easy access right off the ICW, fuel available 24 hours, and onsite security, it's a great stop.

Friendly, helpful affordable marina, 2013-12-09
Captain: , Houghton, MI (156)

Stayed here for a week to do some boat projects. Everything is close and in walking distance. The staff is very helpful and marina is clean and well run. Walking trail to Honeymoon Island nearby, along with Frenchy's Outpost featuring cold beer and reasonably priced seafood. Publix, Dollar Store, Resale Thrift store nearby, as well as liquor store and cute diner. One washer and dryer, nice lounge area with grill out front of office. Recommend mirror and wastebasket in closet-style shower - no plugs in bathroom stalls, but these are only minor gliitches in a very professional and hospitable faciliity.

Excellent place to stay, 2013-12-06
Captain: , Racine, WI (371)

Friendly staff always willing to help or lend a hand. Fair long term dockage, we stayed for three weeks while returning home for 12 days. On our return, we noticed dock hands had adjusted our lines to better handle the tides. Security walks the docks and provides assistance to late arrivals. All in all a fine experience.

Enjoying long stay, 2013-12-04
Captain: , Meredith, NH (638)

Pulled in from Gulf crossing & were heartily welcomed. Staying 6 weeks from Thanksgiving week thru 1st of year & marina personel could not be more helpful. Highly recommend this marina.

Good place to keep a boat, 2013-05-19
Captain: , dunedin (50)

My dad had his boat here, fast service, fair rate, I would reccomend to anyone, easy to get in and out, fuel available, and great area to boat from

Great Change, 2013-01-12
Captain: , Pensacola, Florida (132)

Under the new management, this marina has and is undergoing great changes. The dock staff waited past closing for us to come in from the Gulf Crossing and gave us a friendly and comforting greeting. In the two days we spent in this marina, the staff couldn't have been better. They were always helpful. With Publix and a great beach bar within walking distance, it is convenient.
