Reviews for Mariners Landing
Perfect stop on Erie Canal, 2017-08-25
Captain: , Manitowoc (287)

A near perfect stop for my stint on the Erie. Not getting 5 stars because no wifi.

Bathrooms are dated but clean. Walking distance to great restuarants and grocery.

Beautiful location.

Staff is super friendly and well informed.

Easy access, 2016-10-12
Captain: , Miami Beach, FL (210)

Right on the canal. Staff very helpful and friendly. Hot water costs $.25 in the showers which are extremely "rustic" - that is moldy and old. Laundry is $1 wash $1 dry. Easy walk to Main Street with a plethora of restaurants and stores.

Overnight Stop, 2016-09-23
Captain: , La Crosse, WI (941)

Joe was pleasant and helpful. The restrooms were "rustic" the showers were not clean. We were there in September and it was obvious the summer season was over with. Not much open in town. We had a very quiet night - which was just fine for us.

Nice convenient stop, 2015-09-20
Captain: , Little River, SC (752)

Place is right on the canal, with long docks and very easy access. Has an onsite ship's store and snack bar, but we arrived too late to frequent. Arrived at 4:50 PM. Dock hands were in their cars and departing the area at 4:59.5 leaving us too continue tying up (no problem). Had to chase one down to insure restrooms were open and determine there was no wifi. The restrooms were a mess and the men's restroom has a broken latch, hence the door cannot be secured. I give it 4 stars for convenience and prices. Otherwise, probably 2 or 3.

Joe was wonderful, 2015-09-03
Captain: , Texas (170)

we stopped for fuel and he was so helpful and nice. Had his deck hands ready to help us dock. He let us pick his brain for canal information. You would have thought we had been friends for years. Thanks Joe we would stop again
keep to the port side right before you get there is a shoal of sand pretty wide on the starboard side.

Nice place for one nite, 2015-07-01
Captain: , Tonawanda,NY (261)

Nice place, they charged me by the length of the mast, not the boat.

Very helpful dock master. , 2015-06-14
Captain: , Illinois (2549)

Friendly and efficient management.

Nice Marina, 2014-08-21
Captain: , Calgary (291)

Very friendly management. Gas, water and power available. Washrooms not that clean but it was Saturday evening after a hot day with lots of people around enjoying the beach

Nice place to wait for weather, 2013-09-06
Captain: , Sarasota (1427)

We were stuck here for a couple days waiting for the west winds on Lake Oneida to subside. This is a laid-back, easy-going marina (we're not in Ft Lauderdale, Toto). There's a small ship's store (food and boat supplies), laundry, and fuel dock. There is power, but you'll need a 50 ft cord. This is more protected than the free wall which is closer to the lake. Town is a short walk with several restaurants, grocery store, convenience store, amusement park, and a beach. The park is right out of the 50's.

Not Impressed, 2013-08-12
Captain: , Holmes Marina, Oneida Lake, NY (28)

Tank pump-out never works. Many boaters have complained several times but the gas dock attendants have little to do with the pump-out.

Good stop before Oneida Lake, 2012-09-03
Captain: , Charleston, SC (422)

Had a choice between the face dock and a slip in the "back." I chose the back because of the nonstop Labor Day boat traffic. Narrow access and some low water made me wonder if I had made the right choice but all worked out well...locals were very don't have to pay for hot water

Great stop, 2012-08-28
Captain: , Jacksonville Fl (1550)

Friendly staff, gas about 25 cents/gal less that what we have been seeing and high test at that. Easy bike ride to town and all it offers. Weather looked iffy so we decided to stay and they set us up with a spot on the front face dock. Would definately stay here again.

Se"cond time here, 2012-08-27
Captain: , Sarnia (60)

2006 arrived mid October, "Bumper" was hunting, reached him on his cell phone after hours, "go ahead tie up, we'll figure it out later".
Aug 19,2012, pulled in for fuel, docks were full, they figured out how we could stay for the night, because of fuel we bought, did not charge us for dockage. Incredible!!

A nice place to stay, 2012-08-15
Captain: , Baldwinsville, NY (26)

We marked Sylvan beach as a destination for an overnight. I called the marina ahead of time after reading reviews of the town dock being full often. We were coming in from lock 24 so it was a good 3.5-4 hour ride. Last thing you want is no place to go! They were very nice on the phone and took my cc to hold the slip. Upon arrival we pulled up to the gas dock and were greated by a deck hand immediately. I told him we had reserved a slip. My passengers hit the heads that were attatched to a small general store and the deck hand had me get in his truck and he took me on a quick tour and showed me our slip. It was very very pleasant. We are new to overnights and this was about my 3rd trip on our 28ft cruiser. So it was easy to get a little anxiety about not knowing protocols and what not. Plus I knew I had to park tight and we had winds at 20-25 coming off the lake. So he showed me the slip. which had a small 24" fixed dock every 2 boats. Power and water. He said that had extensions if we needed. Assured me I would fit and there was pleanty of water. The opening to the cove is tight. We fit fine but its probably 15ft wide. I was amazed that there was hardly any wind. Made parking a snap and one of the seasonal campers came over to help. I backed in the slip because my power is in the back and I like the back accessable. We fit with about 1ft of water to spare. We had a nice grass section behind the boat with a picinic table. alot of seasonal campers there. It was a very nice relaxing setting. The town was a short 10 minute walk just around the cove which offered resturants, music, beach, ice cream, etc. It was a great place to visit. We ate at Harpoons. They had a live band and were right on the water. The food was terrific. Atmosphere was awesome! The marina/camp ground is owned or affiliated somehow with the onieda indian nation. So this transalted into cheap gas for us! Filled up before we left. about $1.05/gal cheaper than lock 24. If heading to sylvan beach, this is a sure spot to stay comfortably.

Comfortable and Secure, 2012-06-12
Captain: , santa barbara (771)

We stayed on the long dock, arrived just before a bad storm - were secure and no problems. Had ample depth. In some locations it may be difficult to get 50a power without a long cord. Staff here were very pleasant and professional. Facilities were clean and the adjacent mobil home park was quiet.

Stopped for Fuel, 2012-05-15
Captain: , Ocean (60)

Early May 2012 - Stopped for fuel while headed east on the Erie Canal. The gentleman was very nice and very helpful in spite of bad weather. We did not stay here, but it looked like a good spot with easy access on and off the canal with a friendly face.

4th of July, 2011-07-03
Captain: , Westport,Ma (710)

Nice stop, spending the 4th weekend here. Nice people and the docks are in good condition, we are all the way in the cove bow in with 3" under the bow and 6' at the stern. Town is a throw back to the 60's. reminds me of vacationing as a kid. Resturants in the town are just OK but I can not complain about dinks and lunch for 2 for $25. Overall a nice stop and would return.

Mariners Landing, 2011-06-21
Captain: , Wilsonville, AL (300)

Put on fixed dock. Dock was rough. Bathrooms were dirty. The walk to town was 10 minutes. The park and rv spaces were very pretty. Lots of restaurants and three ice cream places. People @ marina were friendly and helpful.

Easy access, good docks, 2011-06-05
Captain: , Mesa AZ (1609)

Good location for visiting Slyvan Beach (10 min walk). Nice park like atmosphere with many permanent residence. Area is a walk back to the 50s summer beaches. Good protection from wind while waiting to cross lake. Nice to watch boats pass by. Owned/operated by the Onieda Nation.

Quite acceptable, 2009-08-11
Captain: , Stuart FL Middletown RI (240)

For bigger boats the face docks are easy to access and in good shape. Restroom/shower facilities are ancient/rustic but worked. Mariner's Landing is about a 10 minute walk to the heart of Sylvan Beach, which has a few good restaurants and plenty of mediocre restaurants. There are better facilities acorss the lake but Mariner's Landing is OK and Sylvan beach makes a nice stop along the Erie Canal.

nice fixed dock, 2008-07-15
Captain: , Key Largo (5457)

walkable to the waterfront amusment park area. Bars and resturants, toruisty but fun

formerly Skinner's Marina, 2008-06-08
Captain: , New Orleans (118)

very crowded on weekends, no nearby grocery, restaurant.
Still probably best in Sylvan Beach for boats over 40'
