Reviews for Marine Stadium Marina
Marina and Marine Stadium, 2015-07-31
Captain: , Miami (110)

Wanted to update this post, since the reviews point to two different things:
1. The Marina - for small power boats, owned by the city of Miami.
VERY good service, and very friendly people. - 5 stars for the Marina
2. The Marine Stadium - This is the body of water in front of the marina. It's a "marine" STADIUM. Used in the 70's and 80's and being rebuilt as I type.
This will be the new site for the famous Miami International Boat show.
Anchoring here is a great experience: The view of the Miami Skyline is second to none!
WELL protected for any wind.
Holding is very good and the smell mentioned on another review comes from a nearby water sewage treatment plant.
You can feel the smell ONLY if the wind is NE and you are all the way in the stadium water, way too close to the eastern shore.
Stay here on your way through Miami for at least one calm and restful night without a doubht!

Great stop with a million dollar view, 2012-03-30

We have stayed here twice going and coming from the Keys. Excellent holding with a great view of the Miami skyline. On our last visit 3/26/12 we noticed the marked rowing lanes at the Southwest end . The Sheriff dept was using those lane areas for boat handling training. After that a small seaplane used those lanes to take off. All very entertaining soo with this activity I would anchor more in the middle. A nice live aboard clued us in about the ice mentioned in a previous review. No one questioned our stay and it was enjoyable.

Nice view of Miami skyline, 2011-12-13

Nice view of the skyline, easy anchorage to get into. Follow Skipper Bob's advice and go past the Grandstand toanchor...the boatyard lights are very bright shining into the anchorage at night. Nearby industrial operation or swamp? emits an unpleasant odor
