Reviews for Marina de Shippagan
Convenient location, good facilities, 2016-07-09
Captain: , York, ME (1971)

Everything was in good shape; docks, power, water. Called on the phone and was able to talk to an English-speaker. They were out on the docks waiting for us when we arrived.

The location is convenient if you can pass under the lift bridge just a short way down the channel. We didn't go into town, so I can't comment on the reported hardware or grocery. We did enjoy walking around the area and along the boardwalk, which is well-maintained.

While not a must-see destination on its own, being in the right place and having good, clean facilities earns this place four stars.

Friendly locals were the best part, 2015-08-04
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (2870)

We wound up on a dock with ony 15A power, but other than that it was a great stay for a night. This section of NB is mostly French (Acadian) speaking, although many will speak varying amounts of English. The best part about this visit were the many local boaters who came over to welcome us and make us a part of their social scene.

Very friendly marina in a nice town, 2014-10-22
Captain: , Reading, MA, USA (50)

Marked by small red and green buoys/cones, stay between them. Marina is in good condition, many locals stay on their boats. Small admin building is behind the Sal des Congres, which attaches to a restaurant, and across a patio is the aquarium, well worth a visit.
Restroom/shower is along that connecting hallway. Key code is used at night. Washer/dryer shared with restaurant but free of charge (long cycle on washer!)
2 km promenade along shore starts at aquarium/wharf; beautiful walk with four little shelters spaced along the way.
Groceries 5 minutes walk due south. Nice café across. Great hardware store with some marine and charts, East along main st. 10 minute walk.

great folks, shallow, 2013-06-26

Walk to great hardware, grocery, etc. Driftwood art is specialty. Aquarium at the dock, great walkway along the bay.

Friendliest marina yet, 2012-07-24
Captain: , Bayfield, WI and the ICW (1390)

We were offered four beers before our lines were tied. A great seafood store nearby with smoked fish pickled whelks! Try buying those in Minnesota.... New showers and rest rooms.

Very nice stop, 2011-10-20
Captain: , Solomons, MD (1915)

With a 4'10" draft we came in on a rising tide and never saw a problem with depth. We departed approx 20 min after high tide. We arrived on New Brunswick Day (1 Aug) so a lot of shops were closed. Very friendly locals. One man offered me the use of his car after chatting 10 minutes. Aquarium is quite nice and worth seeing. They have one huge lobster in there!

nice place, 2011-08-02
Captain: , bathurst nb (72)

very nice facility , nice people, the 35 dollars price i found a little steep for a 23 foot boat, but the facility was very nice

Good stopover spot, watch draft, 2010-07-27
Captain: , Baltimore, MD (1323)

At 5 ft draft we had a minimum 1.8 ft under keel at 3 hrs past low tide. There may be some concern at dead low water for 5 ft and deeper drafts. But the folks were friendly, spoke very passable english, and the rates can't be beat. Good stopover spot. Banks, grocery, hardware, liquor store, post office, dept store, all within a 5 block easy walk, but close around 5. Nice river walk from marina goes quite a distance. Quiet, protected.
