Reviews for Marina de La Paz
Best People and Location, 2017-04-11
Captain: , Park City Ut (30)

Marina de La Paz has been our Winter home for 2017. I am sure the other Marinas are good but I want to comment on how good this Marina is. It is the best location being on the West end of the Malecon and closest to all of the major shopping areas. Neil and his staff are always helpful and take great attention to detail. You will see Neil almost everyday inspecting the docks and the boats tied to it, even making suggestions for adjustments. They constantly work on keeping the dock, showers, restaurant very clean and you always feel safe and welcome. You will not be disappointed.

Best marina in La Paz, 2016-10-20

Marina de la Paz has been our home base in Mexico since 2012. We think it is the best marina in La Paz and really the best marina in the southern Sea of Cortez. It is easily the most convenient location for walking to stores and restaurants and the staff could not be more friendly and attentive.

Best managed marina I've experienced in Mexico, 2015-07-12
Captain: , Georgetown, SC (616)

We spent a total of four weeks here in February and April 2015. As noted in previous reviews, this is a family owned and operated marina. The Shroyer family operates a first class facility. They know what cruisers need and cater to those needs. Each morning, you'll see the owner walking the docks and assembling a "do" list for the team. If there are issues, just mention it and it's done. One morning, there was no wifi service. I saw Neil Shroyer walking the dock, mentioned it to him and his tech was working on it within 30 minutes. Similar to every other Mexican marina we've visited, wifi at the dock is spotty. We opted for the hardwired ethernet solution. Seamar across the street has pre-made cables or will make one to your length.
The office staff is fluent in English, friendly, and very responsive to your needs.
Laundry is either DIY or wash-n-fold service is available.
Very large cruiser/ex-pat community.
After our first two weeks, we left to explore the Sea of Cortez, planning to return after three weeks. The staff made certain they had a berth for us upon our return.

Cruiser Central in La Paz, 2015-01-18

With great facilities and location Marina de La Paz has everything the cruiser or ex-pat could want. They're conveniently located to Club Cruceros, nearby restaurants, with a restaurant and convenience store on site. They sell Diesel and have a packed dinghy dock. When we visited in 2014-2015 the dinghy dock cost $15 pesos a day, a bit more than a dollar for a day and showers were an extra $15 pesos per person, and our 2 year old son was free. By paying for the dinghy dock you have access to throw out your trash and fill up your jerry cans with freshwater.
They have Wi-Fi on the docks, as well as ethernet to each slip! They have a reverse osmosis water system so the water to each slip is potable. You can also fill your water tanks at the fuel dock.
We enjoyed visiting Marina de La Paz, the facilities are clean and safe for the short term visitor or long term liveaboard.

The best home base for the southern Sea of Cortez, 2013-10-23
Captain: , San Diego (10)

This is one of the many friendly marinas in La Paz. It is well run by the Shroyer family, who are always a wealth of infomation and help. The staff is professional and keep the marina spotless and the facility running smoothly. In addition to, sometimes spotty WiFi service, most docks have hard-wired access to the Internet. A variety of yacht services can be found at the marina, including mechanical, electronic, refrigeration, stainless welding, canvas and sail work. Some of it is provided by the professional marina staff, while the other services may be found on the services list compiled by Club Cruceros and available at the marina office. Yacht clearance, immigration and other legal paper work can be obtained at the offices of Eco Naviera in the marina compound. There is also a small store carrying a limited supply of useful items, a dive center (Carey), La Paz Yachts (yacht broker), Carlos Water Works (mechanical and dive services), The Dock Cafe and the Club Cruceros clubhouse, sponsered by Marina de La Paz. We've been enjoying the services of Marina de La Paz, off and on, since 2008. When we're in La Paz, this is our home of choice.

Best marina to stay in, 2012-11-30
Captain: , London (709)

Having visited twice for about a week each time I can say that this is withourt doubt the place to stay. Friendly, close to town and restaurants with helpful staff and good english. They are often booked out but it is worth trying when you enter La Paz to see if they have any unexpected berths available, both of our stays were taken this wqy, even though we phoned 2 months ahead and they told us they were fully booked

A La Paz institution, 2011-09-12

I completely agree with the previous reviews. Marina de La Paz has been the best cruiser hangout in La Paz for years.

The Marina de La Paz is downtown La Paz, you can walk pretty much anywhere in town from the marina where Marina palmira is about a mile out of town and Costa Baja several miles. The staff at de MdLP is very courteous and pleasant to deal with, I have been staying here for years any time I come through town.

Cruisers' Favorite, 2008-12-01
Captain: , Fairview, TX (239)

Marina de La Paz is favored among cruisers for its most convenient location to the city and the excellent staff. While its facilities are not the fanciest, the owners and staff of Marina de La Paz can always be counted on to "do the right thing." Highly recommended by this Captain.
