Reviews for Marina de Angra do Heroismo
Good Marina in Angra do Heroísmo, plenty of spaces., 2015-07-06
Captain: , Miami (293)

The marina is showing its age a little and could do with some tighter management, but the facilities as designed were very good. The old city is large and very attractive, not so the "new" developments of the east, including the partially opened hotel overlooking the harbor. The "yacht club" on the eastern mole of the harbor is well worth a miss. Lots of great local restaurants in the old town. The tiny O Venancio to the right of the harbor church was lovely. The coffee house upstairs "a Minha casa" on the street to the left of the harbor church is a great place to hang out. The Algar Do Carvo volcano cave is spectacular and well worth a trip. If any marine assistance is needed the owner/managers of Sailtours Yacht Charter, Alexandre and Sara are available to provide yacht services to visiting yachts. They are an outstanding team with a vast knowledge of the Azores and speak excellent English. http://www.sailtours.pt/index.php/en/contact-us.

Outstanding service in a diffucult place to source parts is to be had in this Marina. Pedro Parreira is your contact and can be reached at pedro.parreira@floresparreira.com. I have spent time here in the winter and summer and reoutfiitted our Valiant 40 here. The travellift is 50 ton and well maintained. The security is 24hrs with locking gates and key cards. The marina itself does get some swell, especially on the outer docks but nothing too dramatic. The town is beautiful and inexpensive. The yacht club that is next to the dry dock yard has great wifi and .60 euro beer!

arrived here with intention of staying only a few days and then told festival of st john was starting when we planned to leave - so stayed longer - folks could not have been nicer - and the town is incredible - the island is beautiful and people of the island and town are wonderful -
some of the slips are a bit tight but nothing to worry about
unfortunatly we have to leave

Angra do Heroismo Marina, 2011-07-13
Captain: , Green Cove Springs, FL (322)

Marina was brand new when I stayed there in 2005. Very friendly and cheap then (15E/day). Only two downsides: (1) the church bell that chimed every half hour, day and night (got used to it); and (2) the surge in the marina. The surge was not bad (just noisy creaking of the dock joints and dock lines) at the head of the harbor near the town. Surge at the berths near the reception dock is much worse.

Good place, just in the beautyful and busy old town
