Reviews for Marina Yacht Port Cartagena
Escale Pratique, station 24/24, 2017-07-02
Captain: , France (32)

This a good Marina in a good city with plenty to do. There was a significant 'resident' community from Northern Europe who winter their boats here. The staff were helpful and friendly. The only disappointment was the quality of the WiFi; but they are working on It!

Wonderful docks, helpful staff. Self Service Fuel, 2016-07-15
Captain: , Plano, Texas sv Mariposa (345)

Being able to tie our 41 foot catamaran to a newish floating finger pier rather than Med moor is a nice treat. We paid 176 Euros for 4 nights. Including water and electricity cost.
Previous positive comments about the quality of marina and staff are true!

Fueling up at the Regatta Club self service when we arrived did not set a good tone. Perhaps we should know the tricks, but we didn't.
After paying the machine in cash (it didn't like our card because it doesn't require a pin), we learned: 1. You have two minutes to begin dispensing the fuel, or the transaction is over. (changing from one side of a cat to other took a bit longer). 2. If you use cash, there is no refund if you insert more money than required.
Just ask YPC to call the Regatta Club fellow to help you. He is very helpful, and also not pleased with the process.

Great marina, 2016-05-29

This is a good marina. It has all the usual facilities. Very nice town. Cats are charged at the same price as mono hulls.

A splendid place to winter!, 2014-10-15
Captain: , Annapolis (369)

After cruising the Spanish east coast this season, where we visited Alicante and Valencia among other potential wintering destinations, I can confirm that this marina in Cartagena is the best! It's very conveniently located to the beautiful town (LOTS OF GORGEOUS art deco buildings, pedestrian shopping/restaurant area) in addition to museums and some wonderful archeological roman remains. There is a daily fresh food market, about 4 grocery stores (Mercadona, Lidl's, Spar, Carrefour), 2 chandleries, and anything else you might need. Having a bike makes it easier and faster, but, unlike Valencia, it's not a must-have. The rates are reasonable (published on their website--although more expensive than Valencia). Water and electricity for long term contracts are extra. There is 1 marina WIFI connection provided per boat on a long term contract, and you can also use their computer in the "Internet Shack." The marina also makes a big grill available to the cruisers. There 2 washing machines and a dryer; and 2 shower/bathroom blocks. There is a self-serve fuel station well hidden in the marina. No signs but it's over next to the 15T travel lift that's near the Club de Regatas. There's a heavier travel lift in the fishing port next door. Cartagena also has some exciting events: the annual Roman-Carthaginian Festival in late Sept. and the Semana Santa celebration in the Spring which is rated as one of the best in Spain! It's a very lively town, and we're VERY GLAD that we decided to winter here. Besides a pleasure boat destination, Cartagena is a very busy commercial and navy port which just adds to its vibrancy! I ditto the previous comments about the LOVELY, helpful, english-speaking staff and marineros. Given its location EVERYbody stops here whether they're going West or East, so there is lots of opportunity to make new friends.
