Reviews for Marina Tangier

The mentioned marina is almost completed but actually i can discribed the place not Marina at all due to lack of important facilities. The most thing that the quest should be consider is the lack of security. The potable water quality is not in high level and need attention. The place is very windy with strong current and need attention whislt enter to the main port or in the Marina.

The new marina is still some years from completion. So is the new fishing boat harbor. In the meantime, everyone shares the Tangier Port. Cruising yachts are in the way and the port authorities would rather not have to deal with us. They charge $25 per night for no water, no electricity, no wifi and precious little security. They have enough problems with a couple of hundred fishing boats, fast ferries, repossessed catamarans and naval vessels to deal with without putting on services for cruisers.
Getting on and off is problematic depending on where you have been sent to raft up.

Tangier itself is a great place to visit if you can put up with the port for a few days.

There is NO space in the tiny marina - it is permanently full. You will be shooed away if you try to go in there. They do offer use of showers and the laundry (didn't try it out)

It is a long walk to town but it is through a fishing market and a working harbor so it is full of interest. Watch out for "unofficial guides" who will see you coming and attach themselves to you - will demand large payments for taking you to their friends' stores.

The new marina will be superb from the pictures but a lot of the old character of Tangier will be gone.

If you want to visit Tangier, you have no choice but to go into this port. Nowhere to anchor.

Police will keep your passport and issue a port pass. You need to go to the police by arrangement to get it back.
