Reviews for Marina Smir
3rd world maintenance, 2013-07-28

We visited in July 2013. Expected more. Pricey. Our cement dock coved with gull crap. White. Stunk and crunched as you walk. Paid 82 Euros for 2 nights. Mens showers broken! Bad / no maintenance all around. Watch entry as badly shoaled on West side. Diesel .833 Euro/liter. Same price as Gibralter. Friendly folks, easy entry formalities. This place has gone downhill.

This is a nice marina. Custom formalities is very fast and simple.
No help when you dock. There is a "guide" Achmed who can help you with everything. He speaks english.

Visited it on May/2013. Office personal nice, they help you with customs. But that is it. Maybe because it was not high season, there was no one to help you dock, or even to hand you the showers keys.
Although the diesel is about half the price it is in Europe, the Gas Station had none to sell! Ceuta is an alternative

Resort style marina, 2012-09-25
Captain: , Fremantle, West Australia (1448)

Modern marina, not very full. A bit out of the way - closest town is M'Diq, 8kms away. Taxi 150Dirhams return journey with a three hour stop in the middle. Cheaper if you go there and back quickly.
Clean showers but sometimes LOCKED - the women's have a key, the mens are not supposed to be locked but the police and marina staff have a key and you can't always guarantee they'll be open.
Secure - guards all over, even though the public stroll around looking at the boats. Not cheap - about $50 a day with power and water but you could probably argue this down a bit.

Restaurants are good. Cafe Reina has wifi and cheap meals. No alcohol in any of them but you can buy it in the small supermarket (which closes after summer)
