Reviews for Marina Road Boat Yard
Allows outside contractors, 2015-10-08
Captain: , currently Plantation Yacht Harbor, Islamorada, Fla. Keys (4407)

Agree with previous comments. Moved here for CAT work that was to be done by contractor at Cable West, but then Cable said no more contractors. Moved here with short notice. Only probelm is the need to rasie the SR 84 bridge to get in and out. Since 24 hour notice is required for the bridge, the work here took 2 extra days.

Good Yard for Looper Haul Out, 2014-10-02
Captain: , St Paul (34)

This yard gave the best pricing for haul out and bottom painting in the area. This could be due to it's at the end of the canal near the airport and under a bridge.
Richard, the manager was helpful in getting the bridge to open for access and was accomodating and helpful.
They also replaced zincs and sternthruster props.
The trip up the New River to the yard was scenic and enjoyable.
Highly recommend this smaller yard over the big ones catering to mega-yachts.

Make your own conclusion, 2014-05-14
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale, Fl (20)

The good: People are friendly, prices are reasonable and substantially lower than most boatyards. Did an ok job on my bottom paint and fixing my blisters.
The bad: Getting there is nerve racking if on a weekend. Too many weekend boaters, and big yachts, in a very narrow trist and turn canal (for me - 48 ft motoryacht) Many bridges, but ok if you clear 18 ft.
The ugly: Dirty, dusty, packed, and flooded. No water / electrical hook up for dry storage. Loud noises from 595, annoying noises from the propeller shop next door.
