Additional info:

Approach is straightforward - there is one hazard (marked and lit) due southwest of the marina pier almost en route from downtown Vigo. The entrance between the floating breakwater and shore is narrow and gets tighter the further in you get, but the shore side is well marked and there is room to maneuver between the marina piers once you have an allotted berth.

Yes - Trash containers are on the breakwater, at the walkways to shore. They are kept spotless, emptied as often as required, and enable recycling.

Yes - Shore facilities are basic, and in a portacabin adjacent to the boatyard. You would not go here for the shower facilities. There are plans to reopen the restaurant in the main building (closed by some dispute between the marina and the local authority) at which time the shore based wash facilities will be improved.

Yes - Local laundry service available from the Marina Office (now in the boat sales office), and both quick and reasonable.

Yes - Supermarkets are a 15 minute walk S from the marina.

Yes - No restaurant in the marina, but there are some decent fish restaurants (excellent food but very basic premises) in the area you pass through en route to the marina (top of the hill).

Reviews for Marina Punta Lagoa
Nice and quiet, 2013-07-23
Captain: , Lisbon, Portugal (318)

Very quiet place - both other marinas in Vigo are very, very laud. All repairs possible, spare parts or equipment ordered (I got new starter battery in good price). Toilets and showers - basic but clean.
Bar Manolo - 5 minites walk - highly recommended, excellent seafood!

Excellent Marina in Vigo, 2013-01-02
Captain: , Kinsale, Cork, Ireland (257)

I based my boat here for a season in Galicia, May to October 2012, and decided to leave my boat here for the winter based on both good reports and my personal experiences.
Like many places in Spain in 2012, it is suffering from a rapidly contracting marine sector, but the core operation is excellent - highly capable marineros, and top notch facilities.
Its only negative (and it could just as easily be a positive) is that it is slightly out of town, but well served by taxis, and in a typical somewhat industrial working suburb of Vigo.
It is probably the best protected marina in Galicia, well sheltered from both prevailing and storm wind directions.
Staff are helpful and capable, and the price is good.

Nice friendly marina, 2012-09-03

Very nice marina. Restaurant in Marina is closed. But you have a very nice local restaurant only 10 minutes away. Distance to down town Vigo is to far for a walk. Taxi is 6-7 Euro. Marina fees are lower than more central marinas.
