Reviews for Marina Puerto Aventuras
Great spot, but don't enter in a blow!, 2016-05-31

We stayed here 3 nights. the staff were very helpful and friendly. this marina is in a gated community. swim with the Dolphins next to marina and several good restaurants by the marina. We did a side tie on a concrete sea wall, but it was very well protected. some boats do med style.

Entrance is a bit tricky, but dock master guided us in on VHF. NARROW ENTRANCE that apparently gets wild is a SE blow. locals say this is a good hurricane hole if you get inside in time! very cheap - we paid under $60 for 3 nights with power and water (42 ft)

We stayed only one night as we were on a passage south. This is a very nice marina and the staff was friendly and helpful. Next time we are up in Mexico we plan to spend more time here.

Great winter destination!, 2012-04-04

We've been coming here off and on for the past 9 years. Puerto Aventuras is a gated community with several hotels and many condos. Over a dozen restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. A lot of the condos are available for rent so it is a great place to have friends and family come visit (and not have to stay on board!). SCUBA diving is very good and very close (5-10 minute boat ride to most dive sites). Offshore fishing is also very close. There are several convenience stores within the gates and a well stocked grocery store about .5 miles away (walking distance). Cancun airport is about 1 hour drive away and is a convenient place to change out crew or pick up friends/family that are coming for a visit.
The entrance to the marina is narrow and should be attempted in good weather in daylight hours only. A strong southeast wind makes the entrance untenable. Call ahead to the harbormaster, and he can come out in a runabout and guide you in, if necessary. There is a range marker in the entrance that will put you in the deepest part of the channel. All slips are "Med Moore" type. Water and electricity are available at most slips. The water is not drinkable (it tastes terrible, but is safe), but 5 gallon jugs of drinking water are readily available. The first time we came, we were only going to stay for a few weeks...we stayed 3 months! And we keep coming back! It's a fun, safe place to spend the winter in Mexico!

Small Cannel Opening, but worth it!, 2011-10-13

Only attempt during daytime if you've never entered the marina before. Incredible marina and services once inside. Med-moor your boat, walk to restaurants, grocery, etc. Fuel dock and services. We didn't want to leave!
