Additional info:

They dredge the channel often but apparently only on weekdays from about 9 am till about 3 pm. When dredging, it can be too narrow to enter the channel. You will see the dredge, generally, as you approach the channel. They do not seem to answer the radio. If they are working, you may want to anchor behind the nearby island until they are done for the day.

Reviews for Marina Mazatlan
Peaceful and secure, 2016-05-11

Nice new docks, good electrical and NO SURGE. Could use a few more cleats, but there are enough. Security is good. Several nearby restaurants but no stores.

reasonable condition, great summer rates, 2015-08-10
Captain: , Victoria, BC (35)

For the last couple of years they have had a great summer rate of US$ 0.24 / ft for the months of June - October. You must stay for all five months and can pay monthly. Water and electricity are extra. There are a couple of small stores and a few restaurants around the marina. A large mall with a Walmart, Sears, Liverpool, and Sam's Club is about 1km away. Buses stop right outside the marina and can take you very inexpensively pretty well anywhere in the city. There are cruisers bathrooms and a lounge. Slow wifi is included in the moorage price. There are lots of guys around the marina who will clean your boat or scrub your bottom.

Costly unless you are long term, 2013-05-08
Captain: , Alameda Ca (332)

Marina Mazatlan claims to have the cheapest rates in Mazatlan. This is true if you are staying 6 months (less than $0.30 per foot in the summer). For transient stays of less than a week be careful. We paid $1.21 per foot to stay for 3 days (boat is 42 feet long). Additional fees (we included tax already) are for electricity and pump-out (used or not). Facilities are average for Mexico. Showers are missing shower heads, water pressure is determined by which shower stall you use, docks are overrun by ferral cats.

Ok Place to put up, 2012-05-23

I would agree with the other reviews poated here. Nice marina but a ways out of town. Need bus to go enywhere.

Marina Mazatlan, 2011-08-03
Captain: , Mazatlan (30)

Marina Mazatlan is located in a newly developed area with 4 large condos surrounding the marina. There are several very good restaurants at the marina. One drawback, the water is not potable. The facilities are clean and comfortable. The price is right. Located close to Total Yacht Works and Marine Services at Singlar.

You must enter a channel that is a bit treacherous. No turning around until you've gone all the way back.
Marina Mazatlan is at the back of the channel (East). Not as nice and a little less expensive than El Cid but the beer truck comes around regularly.
Watch out for night visitors on all Mexican docks (la cucharacha) and the dock water may not be potable.
