Reviews for Marina Fort Louis
Terrible experience!, 2016-01-16
Captain: , Palm Beach (82)

this marina is NOT protected. dont believe the dock master stories. we experience serious demage due a very strong swell that last 5 Days! the marina refused to take any responsibility for the demages. also they do NOT have a pump up service and thier WIFI is extremly slow.

Nice marina in the centre of town, 2015-04-29
Captain: , Hamilton (348)

A well-protected marina which opens into the centre of downtown Marigot. Stern-to docking with bowlines on a mooring ball - marina staff take your lines in a tender and secure them. Great assistance getting onto the docks.

Clearance in and out right in the marina office is great. Very helpful staff.

All marina facilities as expected. Wifi outside the marina office is not free however, and showers also require a token. No fuel in the marina, but fuel dock is nearby.

We liked French side of island better than Dutch. Great restaurants in Grand Case. Buses run regularly from near the marina. Great shopping just across the street. Bakery a short walk away. Super U marche is nearby for provisioning, but need a taxi for return with purchases.

Five stars for helpfulness and amiabilty of the staf, 2015-01-15

Vhf monitored at first call, the fuel dock is now changed and acces for lower boats is easier.
A follow me boat as far as your mooring and effective help to fasten your mooring lines.
Wifi free in the office, paid for a stronger signal up to your boat.

Decent facilities, under staffed, 2014-01-11

We moved here after being anchored in the bay for a few nights. The staff was friendly enough, but a bit sparse. We had to stand off for about an hour due to other boats coming and going and from the time we started checkout until someone helped untie our bow lines was almost 2 hours!

They did help us secure the bow to a mooring ball before going stern to and had helpful dock hands while securing our boat. You can also clear in at the office as well rather than going to the customs office by the ferry.

There isn't much of interest in Marigot in my opinion. A few shops and an open market catering to the cruise ship passengers, a few resturants and really no nightlife.

Facilites seem well maintained and security was good.

We did not use the marina for moorage to save $$$. We needed reliable internet, which we could only get in their office, so we rode the dinghy to the marina. The attitude from most of the staff, except for the receptionist who was looking elsewhere for employment, was that they did not want us to bother them since we were at anchor. This would be a very nice location otherwise.

Ah ... a bit dissapointed with marina, but the Town is Great, 2007-02-20

This marina felt so ... sanitized. It is mostly metal construction, built very heavy duty like, not scenic in any sense, and huge.

Marigot was a short walk away, then it got interesting. The crowded streets, bustle of people, the colors, people at the doors of every establishment inviting you in ... the best description for the place is either lively, engaging, or both.

Had the best seafood in my life. We had choosen some lobsters, they took them out of the tank and encouraged them to jump to demonstrate how fresh they are ... have never seen a lobster jump 2 feet into the air before, or after! Even though the lobsters were 3 pounders, they were very tender.
