Reviews for Marina Cove Boat Basin
Peaceful, quiet, workboat lifestyle, 2016-01-21

I have a 37 Egg docked here for over 10 years. Erling is owner. He does maintain to reasonable standards and is a nice fellow. Some boat owners have semi abandoned their boats here, so a mix of very nice boats and derelicts makes for interesting scene. Great place for DIY on boats. Free water and 120v electric hookup about 20 amps. Two travelifts and they will haul your wood boat. Offers very good protection from storms, huge land breakwater hook protects entire marina. Low tide maybe problem to get into the marina at about 5 feet. Pets are fine, docks and pilings are in good shape.
Water quality seems quite good here, lots of little minnows in the water.

Working boat yard. Crabbers and fishermen in and out every day. Erling, the owner, is a great guy with a lot of knowledge and resources available. he can be abrasive if you get offended easily but it's worth it for the knowledge and assistance availble here. I had 5' of water at low tide but it does drop off at the bulkhead end of the slips. Will definitely go back. Very remote and quiet.

Save your time & money - don't go here! Go to Dandy Haven next store - much better, 2012-06-11

The access to this marina is very difficult - only 2 to 3 feet at low tide. I had shole draft & got stuck in the entrance & had to weight for high tide to get free. The owner of this place is crazy & extremely arguementative. He basically tried to jack the price for haulout fees, threatened to keep my boat hostage until he got more $$ from me. This place is a total dump where boats go to die. Very sad. Their travel lift is so small & antiquated that I had to release my backstay on a smaller 28 ft. boat to get hauled out. Should be called marina crap, not cove. Gives marinas & repair yards a bad name. Do yourself & your wallet a favor & stay away! ps. on the flight path of Langley AFB - very loud planes taking off on a regular basis, mostly in a.m.
