Reviews for Marina Bay Yacht Harbor

We have had our boat here since February. Harbormaster has always been approachable and open to needs. Wifi is not great, but there are options to bring your own and I can use the marina's about 70% of the time. Clean docks, safe gates with a lot of camera security. Docks are stable, maintained. Salute's near E dock has good food, great views and is a local gathering place. For exercise, the Bay Trail winds through and around the Bay. It's often windy, which makes it either hellish or a great workout, depending on your motivation. Overall, we couldn't be happier.

WiFi is poor, security doesn't exist., 2015-02-19

Marina Bay Yacht Harbor has by far the worst WiFi I have ever tried to use. Harbor Master doesn't care at all and if you complain he tells you to go get your own WiFi if you don't like it.

02/18/2015 - Update - My car along with one other were broke into last night at the F dock parking. Talking to other people it appears that there are mutiple breakins happening at E, F & G docks. These docks have no secure parking and there are no security patrols. Don't leave anything in your car overnight.

Good harbor, 2014-02-19

Newer facilities and lots of space. Harbormaster well versed in boating and very straightforward. Staff very accommodating, but keep them in the loop about your needs.

I've lived aboard here for nearly 3 years and consider it to be one of the best kept secrets on SFBay. Surrounded by a well maintained and landscaped section of the Bay Trail. Good facilities, fairly priced, approachable staff, easy access with wide fairways and reliable services at the slip. Active sailing club and school on site. The Potrero and Marina Bay Approach channels have both been dredged recently and new nav buoys placed. Compared to our last slip in Alameda we have a much shorter distance to motor before sails-up and often we can criuse out under sail on an easy beam reach. Plenty of places to eat nearby, several within walking distance. From my experience a reputation for crime problems in the area has been badly exaggerated.

Clean, safe and well run, 2011-03-04

Good facilities. Despite what other reviews have implied there is no crime problem here. (I have lived here for 3 years) The marina is surrounded by upscale condos and has key controlled access to the docks. They welcome transient boats have a wide variety of berths available to accommodate them. Entrance channel has 9 foot depth in last year's survey at MLLW and is scheduled for dredging to 12 feet in the summer of 2011. Just follow the buoys and you'll be fine.

new and improved?, 2011-01-16
Captain: , San Francisco Ca. (330)

this marina has a new sheriff in town. most of the abandoned boats have been removed but the unsavory criminal element can still be found. Facilities are good and there's plenty of lawn space to toss the frisbee around and let the dog take a walk. be sure to lock it up!

Overall a nice marina, 2008-02-19
Captain: , San Francisco Bay, CA, USA (140)

Marina Bay is quite a sprawling marina, and it's quite a distance to walk between docks, but a nice walk along the water side trail. Facilities are good, though if coming by road I've found parking can be a challenge and car break-ins are not uncommon.

not bad for a big marina, 2007-01-26
Captain: , Brickyard Cove (1)

The facilities are generally clean and neat on D dock, but I can't speak to other docks (A through F). They have hundreds of boats. Very good security. Their follow-through with administrative stuff isn't great, but if you explain it to them a couple of times, they eventually get it.
