Reviews for Marina Bay Marina
Laundry and formality tips, 2016-07-10

While there is no laundry facility, Condios on Pier 4 offers a laundry service. Wash and fold was 2 pounds per pound.

We needed a few days out of Schengen because we thought the time from Azores to Lagos wouldn't count. To get passports stamped, we walked across the airport, got stamped out of Spain (go to the Policia station to the right of the Spain checkout-checkout building does not have a stamp), and stamped into Gibraltar.

When leaving Gib for Spain, just walk out. While there are passport readers there, they aren't used. Gib will want to check your passport.

When we checked out of the marina, I had to ask for the paperwork to show the boat was in Gib to reset the VAT 18 month clock. It wasn't offered.

Stopped here on our way west out of the Med. Not the most beautiful marina but excellent location, great for a few days. Sheperds can supply most stuff and its tax free, but order anything you need before hand or as soon as you arrive. Fuel very, very cheap, dont forget to fill up.

A new 'Ship Hotel' has arrived to the south side of the main pontoon, its a great wind break but also put us in the shade and blocked our 3G signal from the top of the rock. If you want sun and 3G, get a berth nearer the runway.

Noisy and busy place, 2013-10-21

A lot of construction was going on during our short visit. However, the marina is well situated within Gibraltar. A quick stopover should suffice but I wouldn?t make this home for very long.

New and Old, 2013-09-07
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale (261)

We stayed here in 2011. The current marina is a mix of the former Shepards and Marina bay. The Shepards part is run down and needing upgrades. Many live aboards in this area. Many of the berths are less than 2.5 meters deep.

The marina Bay side is better but still in need of upgrades. Slips are tight in many areas.

Easy to provision with a large Morrison's grocery store in town, walkable.

Gib's airport is of interest. The main road runs across the runway. It is closed for planes to land then re-opened like a draw bridge.

Fuel is cheap here and the fuel station easy to berth at.

A mix of old and new, 2012-06-07

The Sailing Home in Gibraltar, 2012-04-03
Captain: , Gibraltar (17)

Marina Bay is adjacent to Ocean Village Marina in Gibraltar and features over 200 Mediterranean moorings and some alongside berths. Go here if you like mixing with the visiting and local sailing community and there's a good buzz about the place and all the necessary services can be found harbourside. After hours Biancas, The Ship and Charlies are where you'll find people back from a day's sailing. Pier Office staff are very knowledgeable about local conditions and ports. We spent many great trips here then decided to base our 15m here permanently - far cheaper than the UK and the sun's always shining!

Safe and fun, 2011-10-16
Captain: , Paris (27)

Though not the most pleasant welcoming staff, the marina is very well located in the center of the new fun spot. The orice is very reasonable too.

Great location in Gib, 2011-08-31
Captain: , Sequim Bay (317)

This marina is well located near the airport and old sections of Gibraltar. On the south side of the airport is Spain. The facilities are so so but you might be able to live with that for the convenience. Wifi was spotty and variable. Fuel docks are nearby but at another facility. Friendly staff.
