Reviews for Marina Bay Marina
Well Run and Super Efficient, 2017-05-29
Captain: , Lighthouse Point (252)

Spending a few months here getting our boat commisioned. Tara runs a tight ship here and this place has just about everything. Great restuarant, pool, coffee bar, gym and racket courts (tennis and raquet ball). Covered parking for $35 month and a securely gated marina, yet friendly to contractors working on the boat. The new river is tricky but not if you pay attention and monitor ch 9.
Great place to stay.

They care, and go the extra mile, 2016-03-08

We have been gone for over 2 years, but the new marina manager, Tara Dirato, tracked us down to let us know we have mail and some packages there. Not only that, she went out of her way to actually take the stuff to the Post Office and mail them to us! Very few marinas would bother---they are great!

Spent a couple of years here. Condo/marina compkex with all the amenities: pool. exercise room, AM coffee, onsite rest Very clean and protected area. Deep water with pkenty of big yachts for company. Navigating New River a little tricky, but manageable. Check internet for tips.

A good place to stay for a while, 2011-04-13

Have stayed here 3 times and we really enjoy it. Floating docks very convient to things if you have a car. Very well protected, no current and deep water. We like the resturant on site (great shrimp) and will stay there again sometime in the future. The two downsides are traveling the New River with its currents and boating traffic. Need to time this both in bound and out to avoid the hassels of standing off one of the many bridges in a ripping current and traffic. The other is your boat will get dirty from the nearby car traffic on 95 and jet traffic coming into Ft Lauderdale airport. Despite this we like being there, the pluses out weigh the negatives.

Marina Bay the Resort, wish there were more like this., 2010-12-09

I wrote this before and haven't changed my mind; favorite marina, where we
have spent the most time is Marina Bay in Ft. Lauderdale. No tides or
currents to worry about when docking, good, friendly help from John
dockmaster to Connie in the office, to the charming lady in charge of
housekeeping at the aprtments and who is your hostess for the once a month
Saturday noon hour parties. I particularly love the warm water pool and hot
tub, and if you want a gym, or movies, or a coffee pot always on, or
internet, it's all there. Location is great for errands, close to Sailorman,
West Marine, McDonald's Hardware, (the best there is) Costco, Publix, Winn
Dixie, and more restaurants than you can eat in, in a year, including one
right on site. All this an easy drive away, and you sit on the intersection
of I-95 and State Road 84. Does require a car rental, if errands are your
priority. You are also close to so many of the work yards and marine
businesses. Downsides are being almost an hour up the New River, (big
advantage during hurricane season) and the dirt that hangs in the air being
so close to the highways and airport. Ft. Lauderdale is noticeably dirtier
than almost anyplace further north, but it is the beating heart of the
boating industry. A good rain usually takes care of that problem.

Big marina and apartment complex on the New River about six miles from the ICW. If you are about 19' or less you can make it under all the bridges. Reasonable rates and good restaurant on premises.

Safe, clean, very good amenties and the people who run it are very nice and helpful. You have full use of the pool and club house with weight room, computer room, theater room. etc.
I stayed there for over a year and enjoyed fully.

Reasonable dockage in Ft. Lauderdale, 2008-03-04

We liked the fact that this marina is up the river, as we were planning on staying for a while, and liked the protection. The monthly price is $1.05/ft./day, including elecric. The down sides are that you really need a car to get anywhere, as you are at the junction of 95, 595, and the airport - not really walking-friendly. Also, it's dirty from soot in the air, for the same reason. But, if you need to travel from here, you're right at the airport!! And, if you do have a car, there's lots that's available very close by, including any possible marine item or service! The facilities are nice, although it's not particularly well-run. There's so much more potential. Restaurant is very good - unusual for a marina restaurant, in our experience. All in all, it's a good choice for an extended stay in Ft. Lauderdale.
