Reviews for Marathon Yacht Club
Came in late during a big blow into the marina, 2015-06-03
Captain: , Scottsdale (320)

It was around 6 or 7 pm when a number of marina crew and guest helped me secure our catamaran in a 25 kt aft wind driving us into the marina. All stayed until we were secure near the entrance as this was the only slip available. It was a great feeling to have that kind of help. The rest. food was excellent and the overall price was fair. We left early in the morning, again with some help from other boaters.

A Gem Of a Club- Marathon Yacht Club, 2015-01-27
Captain: , Bristol, RI (240)

Marathon Yacht Club is a GEM. The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and prepared to assist its membership and guests with any boating need, dining choices, sightseeing, boat maintenance references and more. The membership is friendly and welcoming to new members treating them as part of the yacht club family. Friends meet to play games, have lunch, dinner, take part in events or simply share comradery with a cocktail at the beautiful bar. There is always something to do, day or evening. The dining room offers many options to suit all tastes weekly. The variety of monthly events provide something for everyone to enjoy-music and dancing, cruises, fashion shows, game nights, trivia nights, brunches, celebrations, excursions, etc. The monthly BELL and calendar keep everyone informed and updated on what is going on at MYC. There is always something to do. The beautiful gardens and courtyard provide the ultimate setting to view the sunset. The restrooms and laundry are clean. Each slip has a pumpout which is an asset to members, guests, and liveaboards.
Being in the middle keys between Key Largo and Key West, with access to both north and south and all sights in between is where I want to be.

What everybody else said, 2015-01-18

This is a real nice, small club with friendly people. The dock master offered us his car if we needed it. Biked the 1.3 miles to Publix and the other stores in the plaza. You do have to be a member of a yacht club listed in the American Yacht Club Register to stay here. Every other place was booked when we were here and there was a ten day wait for a mooring at the City Marina. They don't have many docks but a few of them were empty when we were here.

Small But Delightful, 2014-05-20
Captain: , Punta Gorda. FL (360)

Possibly the friendliest yacht club in the FCYC. The docks are excellent and the marina is very protected. Very nice bath and laundry facilities. The bar was open for happy hour on a Sunday. The members here are serious boaters! The liveaboard harbor master keeps the reins tight in the marina. Enjoy the sunset two blocks north at the excellent laid back seafood eatery.

Marathon gem, 2013-04-27

Yachting Club of America reciprocity. We arrived on a Sunday and were invited for the free hot dogs and 1/2 price drinks late afternoon in the bar. Dining room closed on Sundays. Self serve pump out $5 at your slip. Laundry, clean showers and restrooms and quiet deck, pet friendly. Restaurants walking distance but many closed on Sundays. Pizza delivery from Papa John worked great. Yacht club members very helpful if you need a ride for grocery or assistance in any way. Key Fisheries very casual but fresh seafood, walking distance.

DOCKS ARE OPEN, 2012-10-24

This is a great facility open to FCYC and AYC members. The brand new docks are first rate and the facililties are excellent. The members are very welcoming

Docks are being re-built, 2012-06-26
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (639)

The Marina is closed for the summer. The docks are being re-built and will be completed before the fall migration. The Yacht Club is still open during dock renovation. Friday night dinner was a seafood buffet and was quite good - John Bartus played guitar and sang during the evening. This is always a favorite stopover for us in Marathon.

Friendly Folks and a great view, 2010-04-25
Captain: , Chicago, IL, USA (836)

Great bar with TVs, but turn around and enjoy the bayside view. Dining room is very comfortable. Showers are clean, and the laundry machines are spotless. Transient slips for visitors are available but often full, call first. Try to hit this place on a Friday Open Grill night. BYO meat for the grill, cook it yourself on thier giant outdoor grilling cabana, then head inside for all the fixins including all the sides and desert. EVERY person I met at this club welcomed me like an old friend. Nice place to stop on the way to Key West if you're on the bay side.
