Reviews for Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant and Pub

We ate dinner here and wound up staying tied to the dock since it was so late when we were done eating.

I'm not sure if they normally allow this but I was sure to be gone before 0800.

Beautiful Dining experience, 2017-04-06

The food is good, but you come here for the ambiance under the Buttonwood trees.

Lunch by Boat, 2017-03-05
Captain: , Hull, MA (720)

Great location for lunch by boat. Good dockage and aanchorage area. If you anchor you can take you dingy in and pull up on the restaurant's beach. Good food and a nice outdoor setting under the trees.

Fantastic Key Lime Pie, 2016-09-20
Captain: , St. Petersburg, FL (45)

My mother made Key Lime Pie from scratch and we are always searching for one that will match her full-flavored taste. Not too creamy, one with vibrant flavor that practically bursts in your mouth. Last week we visited Mar-Vista (undergoing kitchen renovation no less). The Yellow Fin Tuna and Burger were fine, but the homemade (yes made from scratch) Key Lime Pie will keep us coming back again and again

Great Meal, nice dock, 2016-01-08
Captain: , Grand Rivers, Ky (2206)

Anchored here and took the Dinghy to the dock. The docks are high but we didn't have a problem getting on or off. The dock's appear to be new and lights are located below the water. Our meal was excellent but a little spendy. We will definitely stop here again if we are in the area.

Lively Place Lots of fun, 2015-09-22
Captain: , Gulfport Florida (20)

Great little spot for a stop over or a few days rest in the secure anchorage

This Place is Awesome!, 2015-02-15
Captain: , Sarasota, Fl (30)

Been here twice and can't wait to go back. Sit outside in the evening weather permitting. Beautiful setting and charming vibe. Not for anyone wearing Vineyard Vines and penny loafers.

Excellent restaurant, minimal dockage, better anchorage, 2013-06-22
Captain: , Plantation Yacht Harbor, Islamorada, Fla. Keys (4686)

Better to anchor just off the key than try the dock in anything other than a small day boat. Wooden docks are too high for a dingy, so just dingy to the beach in front of the resturant. Good food, but the atmosphere of dining under the live oaks is wonderful. Expect crowds and a wait.

Excellent Location, 2012-05-16
Captain: , Cobourg, Ontario, Cdn (122)

Location is special, service is good, food is fair and prices reasonable. Can get very busy but usually can accomodate people inside when the beach are is full and the wait time excessive.

Great Local place!, 2012-01-29
Captain: , Earth (561)

We were anchored just off the key for a few days, this place has a dock, but we just dingied into the beach in front of the resturaunt! Good food, ok prices, incredible atmosphere!

Great food, great location, 2011-02-02
Captain: , Clearwater (326)

I love this restaurant. It has great food, the service is always excellent however busy it gets and the slips / beach make it a very accessable option. In additon the anchorage just off the restaurant is sheltered, provides good holding and makes a good overnight.

Great Food, 2011-01-30
Captain: , St Petersburg, FL (1253)

This is a little pricey but the food is well worth it. They have a slips for medium sized vessels but no overnioght policy. You can bring your dinghy to the beach in front of the restaurant or tie up at a slip.

Great even in winter!, 2011-01-19
Captain: , Apollo Beach (542)

Very accommidating to the Tampa Sailing Squadron in Jan 2011. Part of the group (2) boats anchored and dinghied in. Others (2) drove. Nice anchorage just off dock. Great food and reasonable prices. We will be back!

Mar Vista Restaurant, 2011-01-12
Captain: , Clearwater, FL (551)

We had dinner there on New Years Eve. The food and wine were good, the wait staff was friendly and efficient and the location was spectacular. The restaurant is small and funky but the covered deck outside is great. They have isinglass curtains to keep the weather at bay. Or you sit on the beach, under the trees. It's a special place.
