Reviews for Maple Bay Marina
Fun place to visit, 2014-09-17
Captain: , Boise, Idaho (122)

Nice people, but from what I've seen, that just may be because we are in Canada. :-). The grounds are nice and pub had a good selection of food. The docks were in need of some repair and were quite wobbly on some of the fingers, so be careful. Power and water were fine. We will return when we can spend a couple of days to explore the area.

only just so-so stay, 2014-07-31
Captain: , Anacortes Washington (45)

There area lot of very nice things at Maple Bay, but for the rather "pricey" slip fees the docks should be repaired. They are extremely tippy, uneven, and dangerous. Shoreside everything is great but they should start replacing the docks now.

Nice large marina, 2012-06-21
Captain: , Calgary (291)

Good protected moorage. Friendly personnel. Clean washrooms. Very limited store supplies.

First cruise of the year, 2011-03-27
Captain: , Sidney BC, Canada (271)

Just returned from our club's first cruise of the year and Maple Bay Marina did an outstanding job of looking after us. Great facilities, the Shipyard restaurant put on a great dinner for all of us. Carol and her crew went out of their way to make us happy, also some cute floral arrangements in honour of the club. Docks still a little wobbly but some electrical upgrades.

A farourite of ours, 2011-03-12
Captain: , Sidney BC (582)

we have been coming here off on over the last twenty five years and this is one of the best marina experiences we can say we have ever had. We appreciate the cleanliness and the way this is place is run. Very sheltered. The comment about the docks we see in another review is true, however, if you know this (they can be wobbly) it is easy to overcome. Have bought supplies at the chandler here and they are firendly and provide good service. The store has the basics but not in great quantities. This is a lovely place to tie up and spend some time. Good dinghy exploring area in behind the Marina to the south.

Very Friendly, 2011-01-12

Helpful staff, get you tied up. Good pub, fantastic showers and washrooms. Look forward to dropping in again.

Nice Marina but watch the power, 2010-04-26
Captain: , Shileshole (216)

I use to keep my boat at this marina and still use it some nights when visiting my family in nearby Duncan. It is a very nice and for the most part well maintained marina with a nice set of facilities.

Care should be taken though, not all of the slips have marine power outlets, some of them only having regular household outdoor outlets (15 amps), which may or may not be in good repair. I had a shorted out power cord here from water getting into the plug. This is an issue in many of the established marinas in the area.

Great place to stay awhile., 2009-08-25
Captain: , Cowiche, WA (350)

The owners are the best! Carol went out of her way to personally drive us to the emergency room to take care of a heart problem my wife was having. They also do a free shuttle to Duncan to see the totems, shop or whatever. We cannot say enough good things about the place. Plenty of slips and nice people to deal with. Go there!

Maple Bay Marina, 2009-08-05
Captain: , Brownsville, WA (558)

Our vilst to Maple Bay was as the cruise captain for a club cruise of 18 boats. Prearrival coordination with the marina manager (Carol Messier - she couldn't do enough for us!) made the visit a huge success.

The Shipyard Restaurant & Pub at the head of the ramp still has wonderful food and accomodated our group of 36 with no glitches.

The marina grounds are beautifully staged with nautical theme relics.

Don't miss this well protected stop on the way to or from Nanaimo.

Clean, Clean, Clean, 2007-01-29
Captain: , Point Roberts (230)

Nice port, cleanest shower facilities in the islands. Great restaurant at top of dock. Well kept grounds, park like! Nice bay well protected.
