Reviews for Mangoes Marina
My favorite place to stay in Marsh Harbour, 2017-08-26
Captain: , Salt Lake City, UT (34)

Mangoes is a small marina with a very casual, welcoming atmosphere. It doesn't have a big swimming pool but it the small one that it does have is shaded by a beautiful breadfruit tree and is a great place to relax. All of Marsh Harbour's services are located nearby and Rey the dockmaster is wonderfully helpful.

Great little marina, 2017-06-23
Captain: , Herring Bay (60)

We ended up staying 4 nights here because of bad weather. Rey, the dockmaster is very knowledgable and friendly. Pool and deck area was great for the kids.

friendly service, expert knowledge , 2017-06-11
Captain: , Hull, MA (580)

…lan, Capt. Steve & Lynne
This is our second stay this season. Ray, Dockmaster, always ties your boat in the safest and most convent way. Marina is in good condition with clean restrooms, showers. There's an outside boater meeting area with a hammock. And an inside meeting room (should you need to do wifi business). Perfectly located near shops, groceries, and restaurants. Snorkel at Mermaid beach! Whatever you need, Ray will help you. He's the BEST! We will return.

Small, friendly, and very nice, 2017-05-11
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (2870)

We don't frequent marinas, and we look for good value when we do. Mangoes has a lot goring for it. Rey, the dockmaster, is calm, cool, collected and very competent, not to mention friendly. The little pool and lounging area are delightful and the heads and showers are dated but very clean and functional. The water is not RO, so to drink it you night want to have a filter onboard to remove some of the excess chlorine; we didn't find it to be a problem and lots cheaper than RO water.

Don't miss dining at Wally's just a short walk away. Semi-fine dining - excellent food at reasonable prices. Portions tend to be large, so be careful when ordering.

Excellent Place, 2017-05-01
Captain: , Bristol Harbor (240)

We docked our Corbin 39, 6' draft, here in late April to provision. Rey provided us with very friendly company, clean and excellent facilities. Easy access by foot to supermarket, restaraunts, etc.

No issues with water depth on approach or currents.

We departed late in the day and while we offered to pay for the full night Rey refused simply wishing us a safe passage and a future return which we certainly hope to do someday.

Thank you Mangoes, you are one of the best.

Private Captain, 2017-04-22
Captain: , East Greenwich, RI (660)

I spent a few weeks here as a private captain waiting for the owner to return. Having seen Ray in action for several weeks I can say that he truely does a great job with the tools he has. Ray says they will be renavating to bathrooms soon. THis is needed as they have outlived there usefull life. The laundry is top notch. Ray is teriffic as so many others have said.

My first choice in Marsh Harbrour, 2017-04-16
Captain: , Gulfport FL (80)

We have stayed at Mangos 5 times over the past two seasons. Most recenlty in Februay this year. Ray, the dock master, is always a BiG help, keeps things running nicely and freindly. The docks are aged and fixed but in good shape. Water and electic are the best rates in town. The showers are a bit dated but clean and always functional. The laundry facility is clean and the cheapest in town. They recently opened a restauant and it's a good deal too.
I'll come back every time I'm in Marsh Harbour.

Rey Gets 5 Stars, 2017-04-08
Captain: , Hilton Head, SC (1234)

Mangoes is a nice small marina. Facilities are kept very clean. There is a boutique on site, but their restaurant is currently closed. But the reason I give Mangoes 5 stars is attributable to Rey, the Dockmaster.

He helps every boat tie up and cast off. He walks the docks to make sure everything is OK and adjusts the lines when necessary. He is helpful with local knowledge. He has a small herb garden for you home cooks. And the price is right on the dock fees, water and electric. Would definitely try to make this our Marsh Harbour hub when we return. Thanks Rey for a great stay.

Great Little Marina, 2017-02-28
Captain: , Chicago (660)

We had been warned we wouldn't love Marsh Harbour after the quaint little Cays we've been to. But we needed to grocery shop and get boat parts and do maintenance, etc. All the things you need a slightly bigger town for. Ray's reputation preceeded him. We pulled in at 5 pm, an hour after the marina closes, and he was there waiting. Jumped right on our boat, tied all the lines. I just stepped out of the way and said a big thank you! He's so friendly and currently has an 8 week old puppy that has been very popular with our girls.

The marina is small, the guests are friendly. Mangoes the restaurant has been closed since we arrived. We did eat at Wally's and had an excellent experience and meal. Also ate at Snappa's...not so great there although food was fine. We walked to Maxwell's and enjoyed really grocery shopping for the first time since the States. Good to stock up!

Great Marina- good people, 2017-02-23
Captain: , Daytona Beach (81)

Good marina, good price ,good pool and bathrooms, good service from Ray. The restaurant is open and GOOD food.

Wonderful - Great Marina, 2016-06-20
Captain: , Ponte Vedra Beach (60)

Rey, the owner could not be more helpful. Friendly, clean, great rates, our hub for the Abacos.

Gave us a better appreciation for Marsh Harbour, 2016-05-31
Captain: , Southport, NC (523)

We stayed 4 days here in April 2016. Dock master Ray really makes this place what it is. He was fun to hang out with, gave us great advice on where to eat/drink, and took really good care of us while docking and while we stayed. When docking, they jump on your boat and take care of all of the lines. They know just how long to leave the lines to deal with the tide. Let them do their job! This visit to Marsh Harbour was more appealing than previous, I think due to Ray and Mangoes. I almost hate to carry on about it because I don't want it to be hard to get reservations next time, due to increased popularity!

A Little Slice of Heaven, 2016-03-24
Captain: , Midland Ontaro (10)

This is the best marina we have stayed at!! Rey, the dockmaster really knows customer service and will pull a rabbit out of the hat for you if requested. All areas of the marina are kept clean and tidy. Power and water were not an issue. If you draw 6' enter at or close to high tide and request an outside slip. We would not hesitate to return and use Mangoes Marina as the hub for all our travels in the Abacos.

Mangoes Marina - great marina to stay at!, 2016-03-15
Captain: , St. Catharines, ON Canada (40)

Sailed into Marsh Harbour, spoke with Rey (Dockmaster), and he gave us a price that none of the other marina's could even come close to. We remained and based ourselves at Mangoes Marina for the month of February. The service that Rey provided was great, and the marina is nicely situated to all the services and sights around. Rey is a kind and caring person who provides a great service to boaters.

Mangoes is the Place!, 2016-01-09
Captain: , Winter Garden, Fl (2391)

We have stayed here for two months - able to negotiate a rate with 3 other boats committed. Great marina - very accessable to everything in the area - either by foot, bike, or taxi if needed. Rey is a great dockmaster - he knows his marina and how the boats should be tied up...if you don't he will be on your boat to make sure! Great place!

We're back in Jan 2016 - Rey, the dockmaster, is still very accomodating and very adept at making sure your lines are tied correctly for the wind, current and tides. The facility is being kept up nice - great place!

good place, 2015-12-02
Captain: , Camden, Maine (20)

Power is really good and clean here, the dock master is really nice. The docks aren't strong, good enough for small boats but in any wind for boats over 70 I'd go elsewhere. The pool is small but the sitting area is beautiful. Wifi doesn't work that well. The office has really fast wifi but the docks don't. I ended up using Bahamas wifi that works just fine. Beautiful island with really nice people. It's in the middle of everything so I'd say this is a great spot to pull in and unwind.

Wow what an amazing Marina, 2015-07-01
Captain: , Key Largo (130)

An Amazing Marina.  As posted Rae is a dock"ing" master.  Clean pool, restrooms and in great shape. I am very impressed. A Small marina but with all the big marinas stuff.

Don't stand by their reservations, 2015-04-28
Captain: , tangier (40)

We made a reservation on Sat. For the following Monday and Tues. came in at 5:00 on Monday . Finially reach them on the phone then the radio. Ray said he had no record of us making the reservation..and he could not help us as he was going to be full on Tues.

Mangoes Marina, 2015-03-28
Captain: , Stevensville MD (20)

Mangoes is my marina of choice in Marsh Harbour. RMHYC discount is great. Metered electric. Only $5.00 a day water. Ray should teach other marinas about hospitality. Friendly, courteous and amazing in helping bring in boats to dock. Free wifi too!

Expertly Run Marina, 2015-03-27
Captain: , Detroit (767)

Rey (dockmaster) and his team do a great job with this marina. Rey continually walks the docks making sure all the boats are sitting correctly and if not adjusts the lines. While it is an older marina, the place is well maintained. The restrooms are older but kept nice and clean. Don't miss the nightly 'conch horn band' as they hail the setting sun. Mangoes is the best deal in the Bahamas

Special Spot In Bahamas, 2015-03-25
Captain: , Little River, SC (476)

If you think Fern and Hoppy can tie a boat up in the Miss., wait 'til you meet Ray at Mangoes. Best dockmaster ever. Marina is older, but in great condition. Spotless restrooms and showers. Need help, ask Ray. Easy walk to resturants on "resturant row" and Maxwell's grocery. Truely a bargan in the Bahamas!

Restaurant is now closed, 2015-03-16
Captain: , Bath, NC (265)

I am unhappy to report that the Mango's Restaurant is now closed. The rest of the facility is open including the little boutique.

Rey makes this place, 2015-02-25
Captain: , Toronto (270)

Easy in out with Rey the dockmaster helping any way he can.
Close to amenities short walk to groceries restaurant liquor store etc.
The place is clean and well maintained unfortunately the restaurant was closed when we where there or it would have been five stars.

We love Ray, 2015-02-16
Captain: , Stuart, FL (80)

Ray is the dockmaster here and he is the best! Bathrooms are spotless and docks in good shape. The only disappointment is that Mangoes Restaurant is closed. It was our favorite spot for years.

Awesome place to stay, 2015-01-02
Captain: , Halifax NS. (392)

SV Lequesteau

Stayed the first night at anchor so we could scope out the area. Found Mangoes was the best deal. We had to wash and dry 2 of our headsails so we could stow them. Rey put us at the end of the dock so we wouldn't bother anyone while our sails dried. He couldn't seem to do enough for us. Had coffee and cookies for us when we checked in. Shopping was a 10 minute walk and the food wasn't too much more than I expected. There was a Mercury OB store that was a tad expensive but had a very good variety of parts. All in all I'd say this is a great place to stay.

Double D's, 2014-08-19
Captain: , Charleston SC (581)

Stayed here in May 2014, not a bad place, cheap and the service was great. Loved the pool which was nice, and the grocery store was just a short cab ride away (great pricing for supplies).

I love this marina...., 2014-06-23
Captain: , N Ft Myers, Fl (43)

Have stayed here before and can't wait to get back and see Rey and Peter at the bar. Great pool and deck, and you can't beat the view. Good water and power. You won't be disapointed.

Excellent small marina, 2014-06-02
Captain: , Bochum (318)

very close to all the amenities of Marsh Habour. Ray, owner/dockmaster is very friendly, helpful and open to price negotiation depending on lenght of stay. Maxwells for groceries and various hardware and small marine stores will satisfy most of your supply needs. Enjoy happy hour (5-7.30) at Snappas with live music on the weekend. Go to Mermaid Reef, north side of Marsh Habour Marina, for excellent snorkelling in max.10ft of water and close encounters of the fish kind. ATTENTION : This is a protected area the fish will eat out of your hand, fishing of any kind is PROHIBITED!!!

Mangoe's is very well run, 2014-02-12
Captain: , Norfolk, VA (10)

Have stayed long and short term at Mangoe's and Ray, the manager, is extremely accomodating and goes out of his way to take care of his guests. The showers are always clean and operational. The restaurant is reasonably priced and the food is excellent. The docks are well maintained and sturdy to weather storms if needed. I give this establishment my highest recommendation.

good breakfast, 2014-01-27
Captain: , north kingstown (341)

Had breakfast here before leaving for a Moorings charter ... real nice people.... homemade pastries.. marina facilities bathrooms , pool looked good would stay here

Been there twice, will go back again!, 2013-12-25
Captain: , daytona beach florida (43)

was there in april 2012 and july 2013. great little no hassle marina. private showers, small clean pool, comfortable tiki with hammocks, free wifi, nice lounge, docks in great condition, nice restaraunt on premises and gift shop (but no mangoes marina t-shirt!). staff is truly helpful and friendly. other nearby marinas, shops and restaraunts as well.

we walk to maxwells (the american sized supermarket in the 'downtown' area) and, if we bought too much, take a taxi back to mangoes ($8).

Mangoes Restaurant, 2013-08-19
Captain: , Oakton, VA (349)

We were at the Conch Inn Marina and went to Mangoes for breakfast. The food was great and the least expensive of our trip.

Mangoes Marina, 2013-06-21
Captain: , Merritt Island, FL (556)

We stayed at this marina from June 17-20,2013. The marina was quiet, not many boats. The docks are in good condition, and the restrooms clean. The restrooms now have combination locks, no key required. Rey, the marina manager, is the best and made us feel at home. This is a great little marina.

One of the Best, if not the best in MH, 2013-05-08
Captain: , North Myrtle Beach, SC (3210)

We have stayed at 4 marinas in MH and rate this the best to stay at. Ray is excellent and the facilites are well kept.

Mangoes Marina, Marsh Harbor, Bahamas, 2013-04-24
Captain: , Freeport, Maine (175)

Wonderful small marina in the heart of Marsh Harbor. Dockmaster Ray is probably the best hands-on dockmaster we have come across on the Eastern Seaboard and Bahamas. Experienced, knowledgable, helpful, and pleasant to deal with. Good dockage rates, nice facilities, convenient location for walking or biking to restaurants and shopping. We have spent two weeks here and couldn't ask for more.

Great place to stay, 2013-04-23
Captain: , Palm Coast, Florida (785)

Good price, nice clean safe facilities and Ray the dock master make this marina a good place to stay in Marsh Harbor. Close to everything you need.

Restaurant is a great find!, 2013-04-04
Captain: , Fort Pierce, Florida (369)

We stayed on the hook while at Marsh Harbour, but went into town and tried Mangoes restaurant. It is under new management and the food was really good. Breakfast has been added and there is a good supply of fresh pastries. Will definitely go there again.

Captain: , Hampton,VA (203)

Although fairly small, Mangos has almost all the amenities far bigger marinas offer at a fraction the price. Dockmaster Ray is easily the most knowlegeable and helpful I've come across possibly anywhere. He actually knows what dock lines to use and when to use them! The restaurant is very good and most mornings they serve some really good pasteries made right there. They just don't come any better than Mangos and we will use this place whenever we are in Marsh Harbor in the future.

Great Value!, 2013-03-21
Captain: , Norfolk, VA, USA (185)

This is the third time we've stayed at Mangoes and we will be back again. We kept the boat here for a month in December when we left for two weeks to go home for Christmas and felt comfortable knowing the folks at Mangoes would look out for her. Rey, the dockmaster, looks out for every boat like it is his own. The onsite restaurant serves 3 good meals a day at very reasonable prices and their staff are very friendly and attentive. The docks and other marina facilities are well maintained and the location on "Restaurant Row" can't be beat.

good spot - good dockmaster, 2013-03-17
Captain: , titusville fl (62)

close to downtown - 5 stars to ray the dockmaster - he'll take care of you. Clean facility. Docks OK.

The Best in the Abacos, 2013-03-14
Captain: , Sandusky, OH (294)

We heard this was a great marina and the reviews were correct. New docks, great prices ($.90/ft - 2 nights), metered electric, $5/day for water, and Ray the dockmaster. Very nice restrooms - private with shower, sink and toilet ensuite. Pool, great boater's lounge, and free, good wifi. This will be our return place going forward. Can't say enough good things.

Excellent Marina, 2013-03-11
Captain: , Dover DE (228)

GREAT staff and location. Updated facilities. Very clean bathrooms with good laundry facility. Nice swimming pool with outside cabana area for cruisers potlucks, Etc. Interior lounge with cable TV and small book exchange. Dockage price was very reasonable for location. Mangoes restuaurant is now serving lunch/dinners with FRESH baked pastries, donuts and hot coffee in AM!!

Friendly, Convenient, with Great Amenities, 2013-02-23
Captain: , vashon is (100)

We stayed here on two or three occasions. Ray, the manager, is a fount of great information and runs a very welcoming marina. Good facilities, and the closest to primo supermarket Maxwell's. The restaurant at Mangoes was undergoing renovation and was slated to reopen on 15 Feb. (Given how carefully owner Jimmy was selecting the chef, I have no doubt it will be something special. Good, clean showers and laundry, and ice on site: everything the cruiser needs! (And fellow cruisers are happy to share their suggestions.) All around, just excellent

good service, 2012-12-19

Excellent staff, 2012-06-08
Captain: , Newport, R.I. (644)

Wonderful marina to base out of to provision, bike ride or come in for some socializing & eat @ Mangos.

Ray, the manager was very helpful and many boat owners leave there boats in his care to run back to the States for a few days/week as he is so carful and dependable.

Don't miss Mangoes, 2012-05-03
Captain: , Marthas Vineyard (506)

We stopped here twice and were happy both times -- Ray is truely a most helpful guy -- he's a great dockmaster and the marina has good amenities -- they are working on renovating the lounge which will be a nice addition to the outside covered patio, the restaurant and the boutique which round out the marina. If we come back to Abaco, we will return to Mangoes!

Mangoes or nothin' for me - I love this place!, 2012-04-11
Captain: , Stuart, Florida (35)

Located between the two expensive marinas on either side (Conch Inn & Harborview), I found Mangoes to be a delight. It is what the Bahamas experience is all about. Low key and relaxed with a fresh water pool and covered deck, it has free wifi and reasonble laundry facilities. Ray was a delight to work with as well, take him some Marlboros if you're going. The docks are in great shape as they were replaced only a few years ago. Lots of depth at low tide (I have a 5' draft) and room to manuever. Love It!!

Excellent Marina, 2012-03-28

Boutique Marina, 2012-01-14
Captain: , Washington, DC (840)

This was our second time at Mangoes. Last year we found the staff, Ray, to be great. This year Ray was on vacation, but Peter was just as helpful. Great location, that is close to everything including the great grocery store, Maxwell%u2019s. Use your RMHYC membership and transit dockage is $.70 a foot. Mangoes restaurant seems defunct, but others are nearby.

nice little marina, 2011-09-15
Captain: , Cape Coral, fl (190)

Close to eveything, very helpful staff (cut us a break on the mandatory water fee) though the restaurant was just okay - better places elsewhere.

The liquor around the corner has 20% off everything on Th with cash payement - good time to stock on that hanava club!

Check out the sweet shop's home made ice cream nearby!

Could not ask for more, 2011-04-19

I just want to verify the other reviewers. Friendly place, very helpful, reasonably priced, well managed.

Great Little Marina, 2011-04-14
Captain: , Ottawa, Canada (363)

We have visited a coouple of times and found the staff to be very friendly, capable and accomodating. The showers are clean and have good pressure and hot water. Prices are fair and they will discount dockage to $1.20/foot if you stay 3 nights or more. Electricity is $0.65/kwh metered. They also have a little pool and lounge area. We enjoyed our stay as we fixed up a couple of problems on the boat and reprovisioned.

Definate Marsh Harbour Choice, 2011-03-20
Captain: , MONARCH. COLORADO (1156)

many cruisers choose this because they cam come in and for a flat rate of $5.00 they can fill up their tanks and wash the boat. The laundry is good (2 washer / dryer). The restaurant is one of the best in townand there is ample retail closeby for shopping and reprovisioning.

Nice marina, 2011-03-16
Captain: , Jekyll Island, Georgia (50)

The dock master, Rey, is so helpful and friendly. He goes the extra mile to help. The marina is close to town and several restaurants. Price is very reasonable. Restrooms are clean. Water taxi to other islands is right next door. Has a nice dinghy dock.
