Approach

Pretty easy approach. There is a rock to the right of red marker #12 as you enter, do not go there! There will be a narrow passage (Norton's Point) after you pass the Manchester Yacht Club to your port. Beware of the launch. There will be a mooring field dead head as you pass Norton's Point, the channel is to the left a bit. If you keep the large white numbered mooring balls to starbord you will be fine.

Reviews for Manchester Yacht Club
Other than the walk into town..., 2015-07-29
Captain: , Boston (601)

The yacht club could not be more accomodating. They accepted my day before reservation and were expecting me on arrival. A bit slow to answer on the radio but prompt in showing me to an available mooring. The club doesn't charge for moorings, but accepts voluntary contributions.

It's a bit of a walk into town from the club, and a bit of a row to the inner harbor, but otherwise, no complaints. I like Manchester for a laid back overnight and the yacht club is my first choice for a mooring.

Very friendly, 2015-07-05
Captain: , Salem, MA (234)

We picked up a mooring for 3 hours by suggestion of the harbor master after we had a very nice chat w the harbor master off Singing Beach on the ocean side. I agree with the other reviews. Very friendly club and crew and easy dinghy ride to town dock to get ice cream. We offered a donation but we're told it was not necessary for such a short stay. I wish I had insisted. We look forward to coming back and staying longer. I suspect Gale Point must be a great beach area at low tide. My son will love that if we get the tide right.

A hidden gem of a harbor, 2013-08-31

Harbormaster manages moorings here; is a yachtclub member is away, the MYC launch will guide you to it. Ships over 35 ft are not to use the moorings; it is a very tight anchorage. Great place to weather a storm. Launch will take you to town and accepts donations for their after season party. This is a wonderful small New England town.

Nice Place, Great Price, 2013-08-22
Captain: , Little River, SC (1967)

The fact that they allow transients to use vacant moorings is great. The launch operator however did not provide us with any information. The walk into town from the Yacht Club is long >2miles but you can get the launch to take you and pick you up at the town dock which makes it very nice. All provisioning services are here: Grocery, Drug store and ACE hardware. The mooring field is very tight especially for boats over 35ft.

Great yacht club, 2012-11-22
Captain: , Portsmouth Ri (260)

You can't get much better then this! Free moorings if one is available with donations encouraged for their christmas fund. No hard plastic mooring balls to bang into your boat all night long and very friends people. Town dock is located at the head of the harbor with a big park for walking the dog. Shopping and everything you need is right here.
Depending on where they put you on a mooring, watch your depth and it is a little tight in there. If your over 35' you might want to put out some fenders depending on how you swing if there is a wind shift. Also, watch your water depth depending on when your transiting the area. We had about 5 to 6 feet last time we left there at low water.

Hospitality!, 2012-07-09
Captain: , Red Brook Harbor, Ma. (195)

A beautiful harbor with classic New England charm on steriods. Connected with the MYC by accident and they offered me a mooring at no charge. This is standard practice here when members are not on their moorings , full use of facilities too!
Great park and walking areas right here and a short walk to town. Limited space but if you luck out it is a treat.

Can't beat the Price, 2011-08-06
Captain: , Annapolis, MD (108)

Very nice club facility. Medium dinghy ride to many town ammenities. Well protected location. Busy traffic, but boaters are FAR more courteous than most places. No wake here is actually no wake. Shuttle service is provided to the Club.
