Reviews for Madison Lighthouse Restaurant
Great Destination For A Weekend, 2014-08-29
Captain: , Jeffersonville, IN (582)

We always enjoy making a trip to this location. The people are friendly (staff and guests) and the beer is cold. It is built on barges and is open for full view of the river while dining. Great access to the city and all it has to offer. You might rock a little when the tows go by but you're on a boat.

Basic Dockage, Very friendly people, 2014-08-25
Captain: , Unionville, IN (221)

This is a resturant, not a marina. They don't monitor radio or answer the phone. Show up between 10 am qnd 10 pm. Charline, the manager was very frindly and provided us with a KEY for after hours access. Price was 1$/ft. Rivercrest, down the river .8 mi. wanted $60 for a 22 ft. boat. Very friendly folks, Quiet , even gave us free ice. Great location in downtown Madison on a revamped waterfront in the historic distirct.

We did not use the electric

Decent Waterside Restaurant, 2014-08-06
Captain: , Louisville, KY (291)

This is a typical waterside restaurant with a typical menu for such places. I've always enjoyed the food and service. There is limited docking space and the overnight charges to seem to be excessive compared to other similar places.

Not a nice place, 2013-08-19

There is no help getting into the dock. Not very good electric service but they will charge you an extra $.50 per ft for it. Dock is an old barge in less than good shape. At $1.50 with electric, it is one of the most expensive places on the river. The food is nothing special ether Madison has much to offer. It is a shame that this is the only place to stop in town. Stayed again in 2014. Nothing changed - over priced and unfriendly price gouging and even,if possible, worse electric service.

Should be a ZERO star rating ok for stop and go, 2012-09-17
Captain: , Gulf Breeze, Fl (6909)

This is a very very marginal marina operation. BEWARE THAT THEY PADLOCK THE LAND ACCESS RAMP GATE AFTER CLOSING UNTIL OPENING 1000-1100 HRS. THEY DID NOT WARN US NOR OFFER A KEY!!!!!! It is primarily a restaurant bar. No VHF answer and call bar for info on dockage. No courtsey extended if you eat in the bar and the idea that electric is $.50 a foot above the $1.00 at foot for dockage is way out of line for the Ohio River...if fact it is the highest dockage rate we experienced on the entire 981 miles of the river. Madison needs to have a city courtsey dock fo day visits to this Charming City otherwise they are a will lose visiters by boat. What a shame.

Kids can't walk through bar, 2012-08-29
Captain: , Prospect, KY (490)

We were there on a busy weekend, and tied to the pier at the north end of restaurant, next to bar. If you do the same, be aware that per their IN laws, children cannot transit the bar area. That prevented us from walking to the town that day, or even off the pier. We enjoyed the food.

High Price, few services, 2012-06-28
Captain: , Aquia Harbour, VA (1177)

No response to a phone call or VHS. So we pulled in and tied up. The marina is 2 barges. The barge closest to the restaurant being in better condition and a little higher than the other barge. We had difficulty getting the electric to work. Had to use 2 different power posts. We said we were there for dinner and to spend the night. We were shocked at the $1.50 per foot charge. $1.00 per foot without electric. We would not have stayed but it was 100 degrees outside and the thought of untying our lines and going on was not appealing. We did walk to town and enjoyed the historic section. Don't think we would stop here again. And "NO" we did not eat that the Lighthouse restaurant after paying that much for this dock. We had dinner in town.

Nice place, 2011-03-30
Captain: , Waverly, WV (116)

Stopped here in June of 2009 looking for a place to spend the night, after a nearby marina tryed to give us a price gouging. We sat down at the bar, and ordered some drinks and while looking at the menu, asked about staying the night at the dock and how much it would be. The lady took pity on us and said since we were having dinner and drinks, we could stay for free. It was a rocking night, but a nice friendly place.
