Reviews for Martha's Vineyard Marina
Off the Beaten Track, 2013-08-29
Captain: , Cotuit, MA (94)

This tiny marina is really across the tiny bay at the blue marker labelled Maciel's Boat Ramp. It has half a dozen moorings (cone shaped labelled "L" for Lagoon numbered in the 40's) stretching out from its entrance. They go for $45/ nite. Transient docks (power must be rigged w extension cord) were $85 for my 25' Ranger Tug, which is much cheaper then the Black Dog Wharf which was $4/ft 35' min ($140) in 2010. Maciel's is very tight maneuvering, mostly stern in tie ups w little room in the channel to even turn around. There is gas (no diesel), showers, baths, & a marine store. U can walk to town 15 min. which is the biggest attraction especially if u are on a dock. Nice folks, not fancy; it's a working boatyard. Shallow going, but truly tucked away.

Maciel has 2 webcam's u can access from their web site. U can see conditions in real time which is cool.

There's a dinghy dock which is hard to find. They seem generous in allowing transients on it. to find it, come into the marina entrance and bear left ASAP as far as u can, then doodle around the docks keeping them on your right side. They offered its use to me even if I anchored out in the deeper lagoon--nice! Grabbing a mooring brings u in close to dinghy dock for reasonable (for MV) cost although VH moorings cost about the same.
