Reviews for Lulu's at Homeport Marina
Fun stop for food and fuel, 2017-05-08
Captain: , Beacon Beach, FL (115)

Easy access for fuel dock and food right alongside ICW, 10 cents off per gallon for BoatUS members, staff was right there and helpful. Great food and atmosphere. Wish we'd have spent the night there instead of pressing on and will plan on that next time.

Restaurant OK – Marina staff nonexistent., 2015-10-22
Captain: , Panama City, FL (60)

Great place to stop on the ICW. Gave us a free pump out because we stayed and bought fuel. Only time we saw marina personnel was when we looked them up. Seems to be Restaurant first, marina 2nd, but would definitely recommend that anyone stop here.

Not a good stop for transients, 2015-05-30
Captain: , Cleveland, OH (344)

There is only one shower for each sex and the transient slips are 1/4 mile away. No grocery withing safe walking distance. Restaurant should be called Chuck e Cheese for adults.

Average food, overpriced, 2015-01-30
Captain: , Port Aransas, Texas (222)

Good views, but food and service were both pretty disappointing. Very high prices compared to other restaurants in the area. Gumbo is terrible, burger average, shrimp and grits was quite good. Good margaritas and iced tea.

Good Food, Beer and Service, 2015-01-05
Captain: , Slidell, La. (1148)

We stated at Homeport Marine for the night and ate the the resturant. For being "Tourstie" it was really good food, Great selection of local beer and service was good. Nice seating overlooking the GICW.

Great Stop, 2014-11-02
Captain: , Everett, Washington (824)

We did a lunch stop here in late October during the mid-week. Their usual docks on the ICW were closed which was fine because of the exposure to wakes. Signage took us to the very long transient docks that are off the channel (not the fuel dock) where we were the only boat. Lucy Buffett (LuLu's name sake) is Jimmy Buffett's sister. The experience was great as was the food. Would do this again.

Good food - easy access, 2013-11-16
Captain: , Palm Beach Gardens, FL (1997)

We just took our dingy down to LuLu's from The Wharf for lunch and tied up outside.

The restaurant was not too busy but the staff were friendly the food arrived in short order and the bill was fair.

I would think Sat. lunch in mid summer would not be the same.

Overrated but interesting, 2013-07-04
Captain: , Corpus Christi, TX (732)

Blatantly commercialized rendition of what probably was once a unique, authentic local establishment. Food was good, but nothing special. It was fascinating to see the aggressive marketing and mass production. Worth stopping at once...

Nice but What were they thinking?, 2013-06-26
Captain: , Murfreesboro, TN (360)

We stayed for a couple of nights in late June 2013. LuLu's is the main attraction for many tourist and I am happy for their success but the marina seems to be an after thought. Just to get to the office from the docks you must walk through the food storage area for the restaurant. Getting supplies to your boat must be down a flight of stairs, an evevator is provided but never works. The two single stall bathrooms are a long walk but are clean but small. The floating docks are first class although dock hands are seldom available. The noise from LuLu's can be distrubing if you are at that end of the marina. Good place for a fun park and restaurant but not so good for a marina.

Two hour wait., 2013-06-14
Captain: , Muskegon, MI (980)

This is a very crowded resturant. They have lots of activities to keep children occupied but not enough seating for a two hour wait. Not air conditioned. Food ok, one unique experence is ordering the Red Snapper. You get a card to scan that will tell you where your fish was caught and by whom. That was neat

Fun for all ages, 2013-05-22
Captain: , Punta Gorda FL (1709)

Owned by Jimmy Buffet's sister. Entertainment for all ages and very good food. Bands nightly until 9. Great view of the Intracoastal and the barge traffic. Plenty of parking and good service. Food is average

New and safe., 2013-05-13
Captain: , Destin, FL (180)

Fun place and brand new. Will stay anytime I'm passing by.

Homeport Marina, 2013-05-12
Captain: , Orange Beach, AL (40)

The only way you could find better hurricane protection than at Homeport would be to head upriver! Great marina, friendly staff, pristine facilities.

Secure and Safe, 2013-05-06
Captain: , Gulf Shores. Alabama (10)

Homeport location and managment make it the best home in coastal Alabama for our 38' sail boat.

Tons o fun, 2013-03-13
Captain: , Charleston, SC (344)

Wait till you see the "Big Thing Drunk People Should Not Be Allowed Near". Good times.

And good food too :-)

Great place to dock and dine., 2013-01-09
Captain: , Pensacola, FL (1178)

Free dock use for dining/cocktails. Nice scenery and very friendly staff. Prices were on par for what you would expect to pay for the atmosphere.

Stopped for a beer, drank 11., 2012-11-29
Captain: , New Orleans (45)

I stopped by this brightly lit spot along the ICW, and was a bit put off by the disneyland like appearance, only to discover a very nice bartender, great food, and a warm invite to spend the night docked up outside for free! Way better spot than expected, but check it out for yourself!

What a kick!!, 2012-10-12
Captain: , Boca Raton, FL (1522)

You have to look at the Homeport Marina for my review of that facility. But LuLu's was a hoot! Like a guy said, it is like a disneyland. Not a reason to rate it low. it is spectacular for what they do. Totally entertaining. Now I felt the Cheeseburger in Paradise was actually pretty dry but great to experience Jimmy Buffetts sisters place. Bama Breeze bar was fun. Everyone elses food was great so it is an adventure to go there!

Marina services and gas docks, 2012-08-09
Captain: , Gulf Shores Alabama (748)

Fues price as of 8/6/12 was $4.19 for diesel. This is the good stuff with stabilizer additive, but still pricy compared to Billy's Seafood in Bon Secour River which is selling diesel for 3.45 plus 8%tax. Would have saved us $37 on our 53 gals. Billys is not pretty, and the docks are at best, unsafe, but they sell lots of fuel to the working shrimp boat fleet and they go out every day. Lulu's is the first marina we have been to that actually pumps the fuel for you and operates the sewage pumpout for you. They actually would prefer not having you mess with their gear, and they do a good job with full service.

1 star or 5, depending on your age!, 2012-07-26
Captain: , Kemah, Texas (170)

I've been hearing about Lulu's for years, but wasn't prepared for "Disneyland on the ICW"! I first heard and saw pictures of Lulu's in a old Lat's and Att's magazine and it was a quaint little beer-burger-bait shop on the ICW. Wow! Not anymore.

I have never been treated better at a fuel dock, 2012-02-26
Captain: , Nashville (547)

The staff was simply the best I have ever experienced at a fuel dock. They took the time to squeeze the last bit of diesel in and had an absorbant pad with them, when they opened up the filler.

Cheeseburger in Paradise, 2012-01-16
Captain: , Eagle Harbor, WA (471)

the good news is LuLu's uses grass feed beef so the Admiral allowed the Cheesburger...She even ate one! Very good. Staff was great, very clean, excellant music and fun.

Touristy Ho Hum...., 2011-08-24
Captain: , Florida (14)

Stopped in for lunch.... nothing impressive! Rather touristy and a bit pricey for the ho hum fare. I had the fish sandwich, nice size but again nothing special about it. I also want to mention that the service was slow, but our waitress was quite plesant and cheerful. The docking space was ample and easly accessable. It appears as though it could get a bit hectic with a fair amount of boating traffic and a somewhat narrow marina entry. We may try it again one day if we're passing through, but I expected better based on reviews and word of mouth from friends who live in the area.

Lulu's Marina, 2011-08-12
Captain: , Franklin Tn (441)

No showers, pricy restaurant, lots of tourists. But one of those places one must check out.

GREAT STOP, 2011-05-28
Captain: , Aransas pass, tx (70)

Excellent floating docks, good food, helpful staff at fuel dock and atmosphere laid back as expected. Great park for children.

Very protected from wind and current.

Welcome stop after coming from Biloxi and great jumping off for West bound. Spent one night East and West bound. Enjoyed both.

Only dissapointment NO JIMMY

HomePort and Lulu's, 2011-04-06
Captain: , Atlanta (314)

Lulu's is a must stop for Buffet Fans, and its a good restaurant, too! A bit pricy, usually a fairly long wait, but worth it.

Stayed here on 2nd loop, Admiral insisted., 2010-12-21
Captain: , Key Largo (5457)

Yes, it's Florida prices, but yes it's unique. Docks are good, new, they even had an elevator to the dock.
LuLU's is a must stop, even if its only for cocktails.

Nice place to stop in, 2009-12-19
Captain: , Melbourne Florida (4616)

Fun restaurant, but a marina?, 2009-10-14
Captain: , fairland (2653)

No showers, and very expensive. Good place to tie for a meal, but not for overnight.

Review, 2009-04-20
Captain: , New Iberia, LA (357)

Good fun spot to stop right on the ICW. Getting crowded so wait times can be an issue but you can wait at the bar if no one is under 21. If you do have young children with you there is a good spot for them to play. LuLu's Cookbook is fun & fact filled. Kind of pricey but still worth it.

Cheeseburger in Paradise, 2008-12-22
Captain: , Absarokee Mt (1228)

Meets expectations of a Jimmy Buffet fan

Great Food, 2007-05-12
Captain: , Snellville, GA (162)

One of the better places to eat on the intercoastal waterway in Alabama with dock space.

Excellent place to stay, 2007-02-19
Captain: , Gulf Shores, AL (126)

This is the best place to tie up when heading East towards Pensacola, once across Mobile Bay. It is also the last place to stop for the night before heading west crossing Mobile Bay to Moblile. New facilities. Good food and Night time entertainment.
