We are a 44' Defever, draft 5'. We anchored in Thompson Bay and found the holding to be very good. There are at least 2 dinghy docks. One at Long Island Breeze, the other north of it close to Hillside Grocery, Fox Auto and Sou Sider restaurant. Long Island Breeze is closed S-M.

Hello? Anybody home? Not in the summer., 2013-07-11

Closed in the "off season". When is that, and how are we to know? Decent grocery/supply store in town not anything else to keep us in Salt Pond. Good holding in Thompson Bay.

Went many extra miles, 2013-03-10

Jackie and Michael (the managers) went way above and beyond to help us and other cruisers anchored here and in the Bay. They even called the propane truck and got him to stop by in the evening to fill our tanks the day before his usual noon time delivery. This let us leave early and made a huge difference. Thanks for great service (and fabulous food!).

Excellent Service to Cruisers, 2013-02-11
Captain: , Norfolk, VA, USA (185)

My wife and I anchored off of the resort for the first week in February and had a great time in Long Island much due to the efforts of Jackie and Mike, the managers. They work hard to meet the needs and wants of the cruisers in the Thompson Bay area.

The resort hosted a Superbowl Party for the cruisers with dinner and drink specials that appeared to have been attended by almost every boat in the bay. They ran a shuttle van so crews of boats anchored at the other end of the bay could attend.

They arranged a rental car for us to explore the island and coordinated a weekly visit by a propane truck so we could all refill tanks without travelling. When I asked Jackie if a friend would be able to extend his visa on Long Island she made several phone calls to answer the question and let me know how it could be done.

Very welcoming to cruisers. Dinghy dock. Access to Laundry and Internet. Across the street from groceries, hardware. Convenient to rental car. Jackie and Jim very hospitable. Would come even without a boat!
