Reviews for Long Beach Marina
Best on Ms. Coast, 2017-01-27
Captain: , Currently living aboard and cruising the Gulf Coast (260)

We initially picked Long Beach Harbor mainly because they are the only ones that will give a monthly rate for just a single month. Once there, I discovered many improvements since my last visit in 2014. Almost all the finger piers are full length. The place is incredibly well maintained and the wi-fi works great. Nice clean bathrooms, shower and laundry facility. Many walk-to restaurants. The harbor master, Bill, is most accommodating and I would recommend Long Beach Harbor over any other on the Ms. Coast.

great stop between Louisiana and Alabama, 2016-10-08

Every once in a while one of life's zig zags turns out to be a pleasant surprise. Long Beach marina and the adjoining restaurants turned out to be one of those!
The staff here are very friendly and the facilities are clean and new.
Two nearby restaurants offer different dining choices, but with excellent flavor and service.
On one evening we ventured over to Steve's Marina Restaurant and had a delicious seafood meal. On another evening we decided to try the "odd, football shaped building" located in the marina called "Brackish".
It might require another paragraph or page to describe the dining experience at Brackish! The food was outstanding! The service was what you would expect from Commanders Palace in NOLA. (Probably because the owner/chef David previously worked there). The food was fresh and the variety was extensive.

Now for the marina review...
The docks are new and wooden. They have a transient wall lay along for about half a dozen boats. Very well kept facility.

Nice Change from Gulfport, 2014-10-25
Captain: , Orange Beach, AL (356)

We always enjoy stopping in Gulfport, but found Long Beach to be a pleasant change-up. Easy walk to to Long Beach Yacht Club, and several local fast food restaurants. Friendly staff, well protected transient dock, and very nice showers and rest room facilities. Definitely in our future travel plans.

Return to Long Beach, 2014-05-17
Captain: , Grand Isle (96)

We spent a couple of months there last year and a few days about 2 months ago. We are planning to move our boat from the great marina at Panama City (to get closer to home) to Long Beach in a couple of weeks. Did notice some improvements in the wooden docks. The dockmaster and crew were great. Really concerned about the boats and boaters and the town is great. Not very big but lots of great little places to visit. Docks may be 3 or 4 star but the people and community are definately 5 star.

Outstanding staff, new facilities, 2014-01-07
Captain: , San Marcos, TX (865)

Stayed here 4 nights in Dec 2013. Harbormaster and staff met us on arrival and checked on us several times during our stay to make sure all was well. Docked on the new bulkhead near LBYC. Excellent facilities. Short walk into town, beautiful beach and several good restaurants close by. Met many nice local people. Will come back here again.

Construction updates, 2013-07-05
Captain: , MS Gulf Coast (20)

July 2013: LBH sustained damage during 2012 Hurricane Isaac. Some dock damage being repaired in phases. Pumpouts inoperable; plans to get a mobile pump-out cart but no certain date. I believe the fuel pumps are removed right now as well. Water available at dock slips. Bathrooms are nice, clean, modern, with good showers as well. Some find entering the harbor tricky, but just stay between the markers as it makes a dog-leg in. Chop can get up due to waves bouncing off of breakwall. Still a nice dockage with 3 restaurants, 2 fast food chains, and a convenience mart at the fuel station across hwy 90.

Post Hurricane Isaac- Sept 2012, 2012-09-26
Captain: , Gulfport Mississippi (53)

Harbor had major damage from Isaac but they are on track to get it back up and running. It looks like they will rebuild better than before. This harbor is quaint and quiet and therefore rates high in my book. Harbor guards and harbormaster will go out of their way to make things right for you. As of Sept 2012 power has not been restored to the piers...only to the main harbor house. McDonalds, Cajun Crawfish Hut, Burger King, and Steves Marina restaurant are a close walk. Showers working. Fishing is excellent out of this harbor.

A good place, 2010-02-01

One of the best harbors on the Mississippi Gulf Coast

Long Beach, 2008-04-15
Captain: , MS Sound (284)

This harbor has come a long way since Katrna. New docks, AC and water. Still no showers, there are porta toiets by harbormaster temp trailer office. 24/7 security, very quiet and friendly.
McDonald and Burger King and a convenience-gas station accross the street. Town within walking distance.
