Pro-Op message

Loggerhead Marina Stuart continues to welcome transient, overnight stays as well as dockage on a monthly, seasonal, and annual dockage rate. We are an open-to-the-public marina offering fixed and floating wet slips for 300 vessels up to 120 feet.

Due to certain issues we are in the process of addressing, however, Loggerhead Stuart at this time cannot allow "liveaboards" at the marina. According to the Department of Environmental Protection, a liveaboard includes an individual inhabiting a vessel at the marina for any 5 consecutive nights and 10 nights per 30 day period.

While we are working tirelessly to get this issue resolved, please know we have several Loggerhead facilities nearby that can accommodate live-aboard vessels. Loggerhead Marina - Vero Beach to the north and Palm Beach Gardens to the south are in close proximity to Stuart, FL.

We will keep you informed of any updates to these matters at Loggerhead Marina -“ Stuart and hope to have this issue resolved before the 2016 Winter Season. We look forward to assisting you with your boating needs and should you have any questions or concerns please contact the marina at 772-692-4000.

Reviews for Loggerhead Marina - Stuart
Wonderful marina, 2016-09-20
Captain: , Oak Island, NC (50)

I had to dock after hours in the dark, yet Jim gave me wonderful advice on how to enter the marina and had a key pass and shore power adapeter already in place waiting for me. Pool was great, docks are nice, showers are spacious and clean. Directly across the street is several good restaurants (BBQ, pizza and Rossevelets for Bkfast. The staff here is exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Great service- great facilities, 2016-07-27
Captain: , Flowery Branch (20)

Loggerhead, from the moment of our radio contact with them demonstrated helpfulness and personal assistance. Their dock staff , lead by Jim, is the best we have experienced anywhere on the coast.Knowledgable and helpful at all times. The facilities are very good and there are plenty of boat vendors that are available for work you need done and the harbor master has a vetted list of the best of them. Good restaurant, nice pool, first class showers and bathrooms. Oh yeah.. wide fairways

Couldn"t ask for better, 2016-06-25
Captain: , CHARLESTON (330)

This is the second time we have left our boat for an extended time, and it is our favorite dockage! The staff (Jim and Steve in particular) are topnotch! The facilities are beautiful (stay on fixed docks for good access). The grill by the pool is a great place to grab a bite and right across Dixie Hwy - try The Dock for local color and good food. See you next year!

Everything You Need - And More!, 2016-06-05
Captain: , Marathon, Florida (110)

Welcoming and knowledgeable dockmasters (Jim was amazing!), safe & sturdy dockage in a wide variety of dimensions, pool & grill w/hot tub and Darlene to take care of you. A safe harbor in any storm - easy access from a return from the Bahamas - and close to downtown, provisions & West Marine. We recommend it highly!

Professional and Friendly, 2016-06-01
Captain: , Stevensville MD (30)

We spent a few nights over the holiday weekend here while preparing our boat for haul out for the "season". The staff were all friendly and very helpful, directed us to our slip and helped us get tied up. We were on the fixed docks which are closer to the Marina facilities than the floating docks. There is a pool with bar and restaurant service (Splash). Food was excellent and very reasonable. The service was outstanding. Great Captains lounge with AC, coffee a large screen TV and doughnuts on Monday. There is a laundry with two washers and dryers. Very pet friendly with bags provided along the walkway which runs along the river.
An excellent experience, would highly recommend, the staff is truly outstanding.

professional marina, 2016-05-26
Captain: , Lighthouse Point, Fl (280)

SAFERETURNS Lighthouse point, Fl
From the time we hailed them on the radio till we left great. Everybody seems to really have the boaters in mind! Their bar did not have air conditioning that eve so they actually drove us 4 blocks to a local restaurant "the Deck". Met some very nice locals and one even drove us back to the marina. Can't say enough nice things

Nice stop over, 2016-05-25
Captain: , Portland,Oregon (270)

We only spent one night here after coming from Indian River Marina. It was a bit windy and two dock hands were there to catch my lines. An easy in and out. There is a small bar there that sells food and drinks. You do get access to the pool if you want it and there is a place to take you dog. A very professionally run Marina.

Very nice team, 2016-05-19
Captain: , San Francisco (155)

We were assisted with tie-up and departure. Staff patrols the docks. Bagels on Monday. Great service at clubhouse, pool, and snack bar.

Great Walking and Biking, 2016-04-15
Captain: , Wrightsville beach, NC (304)

Easy 1.5 mile walk to downtown Stuart; sidewalks and scenery. Turn opposite way and follow Alice St. for a small nature park and riverfront homes with lush yards. Onsite restaurant moderate selection has very good food at low prices. Seared Ahi Tuna salad was outstanding.

A Wonderful Surprise, 2016-04-02
Captain: , Melbourne FL (40)

We stayed here for two nights after crossing over from the west coast. I read the other reviews and was not sure what to expect. We could not be more pleased with what we experienced. Jim was a great help with our arrival and docking. When we went up to the yacht club (pool bar/restaurant) we were very warmly welcomed and given a tour of the facilities. The food, service, and atmosphere at the restaurant were perfect - Darlene could not do enough for us. We will make this our regular stop when we are in the area.

Odd mix of good and bad, 2016-03-27
Captain: , Iuka, MS (1120)

Very energetic dockhand Jim assisted on arrival with lines and some of the best VHF guidance we've experienced. But: Wahoo Restaurant has closed, WiFi was terrible and we were on a close dock, the nice restrooms are only accessible when the not-so-welcoming "yacht club" is open, there's no auto parking for guests to visit, it's a long walk to Stuart, and boats racing up the St Lucie River to make the bridge opening throw terrible wakes that even get into this fairly protected basin. Will be back to Sunset Marina next time.

Very fine facility, 2016-03-16
Captain: , Sunset Beach, NC (1122)

Great transient rate with BoatUS discount. Very nice showers which are part of the yacht club. Nice fixed docks. WiFi which actually works well, which can be hard to find. Extremely nice guys working here were flexible and easy to work with. Nice restaurant within walking distance and another one onsite. Also a pool available for use. All these things for a great price, what more can you ask?

Response from Management, 2016-03-11
Captain: , Stuart, FL (35)

Dear Robert Maier,
Thank you very much for the postive comments! We work hard and take pride in giving excellent customer service every day. It is really nice that you made the effort to give our team such high marks and I will certainly pass them on. Thank you again and happy boating!

I moved my boat to this marina from Jupiter in October '15. I have everything I need and the staff is extremely helpful as I need some help on occassion getting around. Always someone to help, great staff and Steven, the harbour master has been outstanding. Come and see us!

Loggerhead is First Class, 2016-02-22
Captain: , Wiscasset, Maine (40)

One of the nicest marinas we've ever been to. Excellent, friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful staff. Great little grille on site with surprisingly good food at very reasonable prices. Shower facilities are very nice and spotless. Pool and hot tub for Marina guests. Only one fixed high level bridge separates it from the ICW. Old downtown Stuart accessible by longer walk or dinghy. Good protection from wind, wakes, and waves. An excellent value. Getting supplies will require taxi or Uber.

Very Helpful, 2016-02-01
Captain: , Tampa, Fl (52)

The loggerhead marina has great staff on the docks. Extremely helpful and flexible. We were in Stuart for several upgrades and needed to move between the Sunset moorings and loggerhead docks. The shore facilities are excellent but a bit far from some parts of the dock.

We also found Trinity Marine electric while there and Yves Deneault helped us get our charging systems refined and coordinated. They are a five star vendor and Yves and his folk do outstanding, thorough work.

Overall nice facilty, but, 2016-01-17
Captain: , Lewis Creek, Md (1214)

Thyis marina is quite large, has a heated pool and hot tub. There are three issues. Dock help is there, but you want to tie up your own boat if you want it safe(this is a plus minus issue). The internet does not work for all types of devices. After three trips to the dock master and 20 minutes with tech support, I said forget it rather than waste more time(75 minutes for an overnight stay). There is only one light on the outer dock. Luckly, there was no rain. The captains longue is nice and a good restauarant, but those are not as important as safety. Oh trash is a good ways down the dock(150 yards).

Nice staff, wifi takes extra steps, 2016-01-03
Captain: , Beaufort, NC (173) amenities....

Steve and the staff were very, very nice and responsive. They went out of their way to stay in touch with us about our arrival. The wifi, like all Loggerheads we have visited was present but hard to access due to the Cisco/Merakai "splash log in" which Didn't initially work but Phil hooked us up. The Marina is attached to a private club (formerly Harborage) with pretty rigid rules and hours and you can't access the showers or locker rooms after 9pm or before 8am. Wahoos restaurant closed in 9/2015 so there really aren't any options close to here for eating or drinks except the club. You can only access the pool bar / grill and not the upstairs restaurant. The "club" exclusions made us feel a bit unwelcome.

Wonderful stop!!, 2015-12-10
Captain: , Blanco, TX (420)

Can't say enough about the folks here, especially Jim, he is most courteous and accommodating, couldn't ask for better service. This will be our stop every time we come thru Stuart. The bar/pool area was very nice, and the food was great!!!

Stayed one night on way to Lake O, 2015-12-10
Captain: , Baltimore (389)

We needed a marina for a night on our way to the west coast of Florida. We made a reservation and arrived about 30 minutes before the marina closed. The marina faces a long fetch of St. Lucie River and is subject to wakes of boats headed down the river.

The docks are fixed wooden docks that were difficult for us to get on/off the boat. The staff were very helpful getting us docked and tied. Through the night we rocked and rolled from waves and wakes. Having stayed at Sunset in the spring, next time, we likely will go there.
Sunset is a little bit more expensive but the docks and ammenities warrant the cost.
The resturant at Loggerhead was closed when we were there, so we ate at the pool bar.

After hearing reports of marinas being full in Stuart, we were surprised the number of slips empty at Loggerhead.

Great Staff, 2015-11-30
Captain: , Fort Myers, FL (40)

Stoped here on our way to Fort Myers with a new boat. The staff was very helpful getting us secured at the dock with a very strong cross current pulling and pushing my unfamiliar boat everywhere but into the slip. I will stop here again.

Great Place To Stop !, 2015-11-29
Captain: , Tobermory On Canada (55)

My wife and I stopped here in March 2015 and again on Nov 29th
We can't say enough about the very helpfull and couteous dock staff.... one of them even dropped us off at the local grocery store on his way home after his shift ! We would highly recomend this clean and professionally run facility. The pool and hot tub were a great place to relax .The shower and rest rooms were
impeccable ! Don't miss this one.

Very nice Marina, 2015-11-09
Captain: , Clearwater Beach, FL (20)

We have stayed here twice and have enjoyed it very much. Good location and nice amenities. Can be a strong current depending on wind direction but that is the only drawback.

helpful staff, 2015-10-21
Captain: , Ruskin, FL (169)

Only stayed one night and arrived after hours. Prior to arriving staff called to give me slip assignment and very easy directions to get to it. once tied off we made the long walk to the club house where they have nice showers, pool and hot tub that we put to good use and a nice little bar and grill. the next morning staff was very friendly and helpful and even delivered a bucket of ice to the boat for us.

The help was great, 2015-08-05
Captain: , High Springs, FL (686)

We only stayed one night but the help that was provided was terrific. The pool was refreshing, and the little bar had good food.

Love this place!, 2015-06-27
Captain: , Onset, MA (90)

Spent the winter here and the staff could not have been nicer! Steve Stacy (dockmaster), Jim, and Tim on the docks were wonderful-- couldn't do enough to help us. Karen Lynne and Wendy in the office also very helpful. Quiet location with great facilities-- clubhouse, pool, jacuzzi, locker room, nice showers. Within walking distance to historic downtown Stuart, Lyric Theater, shops, cafes. Green Market and Rockin' Riverwalk-- free concerts on the water-- every Sunday. Biking distance to Publix, library. Enterprise will pick you up if you want to rent a car.

long long walk to anything ., 2015-06-12
Captain: , Montgomery Alabama (1102)

Marina is nice , staff are friendly , but its a long walk to a bathroom or anything else . We were way out on a dock in the bay , to use the facilities wasn't feasible due to the long walk to shore and thru a passworded gate , to the front of the building . $60.00 for a 26' foot boat , overnight isn't worth it , since we were still in the 18mph wiind and the facilities so far away . I suggest a bath house in a central place on the docks .

Good Marina But with limitations, 2015-06-07
Captain: , Denton, TX (435)

Kept our boat there for about 4 months while we returned home. Great staff at the dock and in the nearby office. The live aboard restrictions prevent boaters from fully enjoying much time in the slips. County pump out boat comes around once a week and pumpout is available at the fuel dock as well. Facilities are in good condiiton and security is good. Really like the marina although it is isolated from shopping.

Good not great, 2015-05-23
Captain: , Naples, FL (682)

This was a convenient stop for us eastbopund on the OWW to get us through the locks/bridges and tied up ahead of some nasty thunderstorms.
Dock staff are simply superb from booking a slip, to follow up, to conact on arrival through to securing the boat. Marina is in great shape with lots of room and easy access from OWW. Facilities are quite a hike into the attached condo complex but there is a good laundry and barthrooms. Marina has good security.
But there is nothing else around. The much recommended Wahoo restaurant in the marina closed this week with no warning (we arrived on the post closing bar clearout happy day - all drinks $1.00 - wahoo!). The restaurants outside the marina are across the railroad tracks and are average.

Great marina, plus Wahoo, 2015-05-08
Captain: , Salcombe, UK (150)

Warm welcome from Jim and dock colleagues, good meal at Wahoo, we'd recommend this place!

Spacious and professional, 2015-05-06
Captain: , Conroe, TX (50)

Very clean dock with no crowding. The staff is what makes this place. All the guys enjoy what they do and are so helpful, not to mention the free pumpout at your boat. We will stay there again.

Excellent overnight stay, 2015-05-06
Captain: , Fort Myers, FL (30)

Was transiting from Palm Beach to Fort Myers and needed to pull in for a night in order to have access to AC power to recharge electronics after my inverter failed. We were the only boat at the transient dock. The staff were all exceptional. The food at the bar was excellent and the food prices were great. The only issue was that their computers were down so they couldn't grant us access to the WiFi since they have to create an account for each user. This was disappoiting and an inconvenience since I work online and am dependent on WiFi access.

Nice place for short stays, 2015-04-07
Captain: , Nowhere,OK (1314)

It's next to the Rt1 bridge, so it's the ideal place if you are coming across Florida or coming up the ICW. Wood fixed docks, but each piling has fender material on it. Tim and Jim were very helpful getting us on and off the dock.

We stayed on the G pier T-head since the marina was empty (normally they are 80' slips). A little walk to land, but not a big deal.

High point is Wahoo's eatery. Good food, happy hours are 11-6 for half price beer/wine and some drinks. The club house is really nice, and cheap ($1.50) laundry is available.

I'd give it 5 stars, but it's not near any shopping, you need to get a taxi. As a standalone marina with Wahoo's it's an easy 6 stars.

Excellant Marina, 2015-04-07
Captain: , Venice, Fl. (919)

Stopped here over Easter weekend and left the boat for 3 days. The staff here is excellant. The restrooms very clean and 2 places on the property to eat. There is nothing much around but the downtown of Stuart is a short bike ride away.

the best marina experience, 2015-03-15
Captain: , Salem ma (30)

Stopped here to visit family in Stuart. Left the boat here for a month while I did some work obit. The crew at the marina couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Steve, Tim, Jim, and Been were great and always around to help. Stan and Suzanne in the office were great and Sarah is the best bartender I've met. Five stars

Nice Amenities, Long Walk, 2015-03-09
Captain: , Stuart FL (478)

First, the staff--Steve, Jim, Tim and Ben--could not be more pleasant and helpful. Great guys, always available to lend a hand. "Club-like" pool, restrooms, "Captain's Lounge" with TV and coffee. If possible, get on "A" dock. Otherwise it's a bit of a hike from fixed docks, even farther from floating piers. Rates consistent with others in Stuart but seems nicer than average. Just can't stay on boat more than 4 nights in a row, 9 nights in a month, which may explain why so many empty slips.

One of the best marinas..., 2015-02-27
Captain: , Vienna, VA (30)

Long docks and a big marina (the dockhands get around on bikes!) this is one of the best marinas we've ever been to. Yacht club quality showers, pool, jacuzzi, snack bar, on-site restaurant. But the main reason for this review is to compliment the outstanding staff who went out of their way to accomodate us with things like deliveries of equipment to our boat, arranging a pump-out when we weren't there, arranging a reciprical visit at no charge to another Loggerhead and so on. Jim P., Tim and Steven Stacey there were all fantastic. About 10% higher slip fees than average marinas but you more than get your money's worth. We'll be back when in the area again.

Nice helpful friendly staff, 2015-01-16
Captain: , Chicago, Racine, Fish Creek,Wi (1900)

We stayed two nights and were very well treated by all the staff.
Did lots of laundry with the wash at $1.50 and dryer $1.00.
Very nice showers, washroom, Pool, Captains lounge, and on site cafe.
Resturant Wahoo's next door. Fuel Docks had very good padding making fenders not necessary. Also dock in fuel basin well padded.

We still enjoy it being here, 2014-12-29
Captain: , Destin Florida (410)

It is rather annoying to be restricted to only a few days here. BUt still, its a wonderful spot to enjoy Stuart. Stan, Tom and Stan among others make it a place to return. Hope they can get the situation reolved by next year

Stayed for the month, 2014-12-15
Captain: , Hampton, VA (261)

We pulled in here to keep the boat while we fly home for the holidays. Great floating docks but long walk down the pier. Easy to get in and the dock hand was great getting us into the slip and providing information as we approach the marina.

Office manager Windy is super and a good experience.

Great for a four day transient stay..., 2014-12-11
Captain: , Galesville, MD (993)

...but no more than four days for transients due to an issue with the condo association from what we understand. Great dock staff. Excellent facilities at the yacht club house (laundry, restaurant, pool, fitness center, captain's lounge). Easy fuel dock. Wifi good. No problem having a sail vendor work on the boat. Loggerhead marinas seem to offer very good facilities for a fair (not cheap) price.

Stuart/Martin County does have a transit connector bus that may help for some longer trips, but the bus stop is a bit of a walk. Downtown Stuart is a reasonable walk across the drawbridge.

I found the marks leading to the marina area on the chart a bit confusing. R2 and G3 etc don't lead into the marina. You will see the large Fuel sign. There is a green mark at the fuel dock basin entrance. It doesn't have a sign on the back side, so when leaving remember that it is a green marker.

Not a place to stay, 2014-11-15
Captain: , YORKTOWN, VA (293)

Not welcoming to transients.

No Live Aboards, 2014-10-02
Captain: , Stuart, Fl (32)

The condo owners have won this battle. The marina will no longer allow full time cruisers/liv-a-boards. Not sure of the new rules for transients as far as length of stays. Call marina for more info

Unbeatable fuel prices, great facilities, and awesome staff, 2014-09-06
Captain: , Twin Dolphin Marina (271)

The title says it all. I can't think of anything negative to say about this marina. THe pool and captain's lounge are excellent, and the marina restaurant, Wahoos was great. (I recommend the smoked fish spread and deviled eggs topped with caviar).

If you're heading east on the Okechobee Waterway, do yourself a favor and skip the first fuel stop you'll see along the way and head to Loggerhead. They are nearly a dollar cheaper per gallon!

First Class, 2014-04-27
Captain: , Boothbay Harbor, Maine (310)

We stayed here for a month in April of 2014 doing various repairs. The staff were extremely helpful and most pleasant. Harbormaster Steve was very professional, as was his staff. The marina is a mile walk over the bridge to the center of Stuart. The pool was very nice where there is a small restaruant next to it. Wahoos Restuarant is also there and a pleasant place to dine and enjoy the entertainment. The slips are a bit of a walk to get to but that, and the night time train traffic, are the only negatives. For $14.50/foot, you can stay for a month, and have complimentary stays at the other Loggerhead Marinas in Florida.

good stay, recommended, 2014-04-05
Captain: , Ft Myers, Florida (1663)

Good marina and service. Could not get into Sunset Bay as it was full, Loggerhead is a good alternative. Wahoo's restaurant on site has great food and live music some nights. $1.85 with Boat US discount. Fuel was competitively priced. Good dock side service, nice pool. More isolated from Stuart as u must walk over the long US 1 bridge to get to downtown Stuart. Marina a little confusing on its layout we arrived after hrs and managed fine.

Highly Recommend!, 2014-03-29
Captain: , Colington Harbour, NC (41)

We left our boat at Loggerhead three times this cruising season to return home for family obligations. We felt very comfortable leaving our boat knowing it was under the watchful eyes of dockmaster Steve and his staff. The facilities are great - pool, locker rooms. The laundry room is a little dreary and it would be great if the marina wifi was available in there.

We walked (2 miles) to the adorable downtown Stuart where there are restuarants, shops and ice cream. Publix is also walkable (1.5 miles) - helpful to have a collapsable hand truck.

We saw manatees, dolphins and lots of pelicans.

No Trolls under the Bridge, 2014-03-11
Captain: , north kingstown (341)

Even though we where living under a bridge it was very beautiful especially at night the bridge is looks like Venice....Steve the dockmaster was very helpfull Joe the dockhand gave us a good idea of the facilities....Fuell was reasonable with resident discount... the walk to the car eventually got me a little better in shape...Very clean .. we're here for a few more weeks but would like to come back next year

Wonderful marina!, 2014-03-09
Captain: , Kilmarnnock, VA (20)

One of the best of the best in Loggerhead Marina's. View was wonderful, weather was great, resturant next door was tasty and friendly, barteneder Sarah was as nice and helpful as can be, tell 'em Captain Leo sent ya, they'll take care of you very well.

Good irritant, 2014-01-29
Captain: , Edenton, NC (887)

We like Loggerhead Marina. When the wind howls out of the north it is a much better alternative to Sunset Bay and with the Boat/US discount a better value. Unlike Sunset Bay, there is no current to speak of. The staff is capable and friendly. However, there is one irritant. The wifi is a pain to sign on to and it continually bumps you off. If you really need a connection don't come here. Hopefully management will respond to this feedback.

Excellent clean friendly marina!, 2013-12-25
Captain: , brewerton ny (303)

We are on the fixed docks close to the facilitys. Staff is continuously asking if we need anything and are happy. Tide not much of an issue. Long term customers enjoy reciprocity with Loggerheads 11 other Florida marinas.

Loggerhead @ Stuart FL, 2013-12-01
Captain: , Sandwich (692)

The marina is on the St. Lucie River open to the east. The docks are fixed making it tricky getting on/off boat. The bath/shower facilities are hotel quality and clean. Heated pool/hot tub with snack bar, captain's lounge with TV and library, and laundry room. The attendants are all courteous and friendly. The owner of snack bar put on a Thanksgiving Day feast. Uncle Giuseppe's Italian Restaurant across the street is excellent! Only drawback it's a hike across bridge to Stuart.

Riding out a blue northern in style!, 2013-11-19
Captain: , Port Canaveral Yacht Club (107)

Tuesday afternoon found us running from a cold front. A Blue Northern was pushing south and the winds were picking up and the waters were getting rough, so we found an awesome marina on the northern shore of St. Lucie River. The Loggerhead Marina was perfect for our purposes. Even though we arrived right at quitting time, their staff were there to show us the slip and catch a line to get us in without incident.

It made for an interesting couple of nights with the boat rocking and the winds screaming but we were safe and snug in our slip behind a sea wall with the northern & eastern winds blocked by the land!

The staff here are super friendly. The Harbormaster, Steven, even gave Will a ride to West Marine when he inquired about directions and distance!

And the place is gorgeous with a heated pool, hot tub, poolside bar and grill and a workout room upstairs. It is surrounded by several hi-rise condos which help in ducking the north wind. Will loved the exercise facility with amazing views of the river and I was hooked on the pool, hot tub and poolside bar. They were very pet friendly too! We also worked on the boat (Will put LED's in all the cabin lights so we use less electricity), did laundry and restocked groceries. We planned to stay two nights but ended up staying four, it was just so relaxing! A mini-vacation from our vacation.
Life is good for transients here at Logggerhead Marina- Stuart!

No Livaboards welcomed, 2013-10-02
Captain: , Southport, NC (706)

We are crrently down here in Stuart area working so we thought we would move our boat to this Marina to have some nice ammenities. We stoped by and talked to the staff and they said no livaboards allowed. I think they still have some livaboards and are currently in a court battle to Kick them out. I was told 7 days is all we could stay. We need at least 30 days. I guess they dont need our business. It looks like a great marina though. The floating docks (south) would be a real hike to the pool and lounge.

Very Accommodating, 2013-07-03
Captain: , Wilmington, NC (250)

Great facility. Pool, showers, grill. Great security. Wahoo restaurant next door is awesome. Try the crab balls!
More importantly, we took delivery of our boat in Stuart, FL, and moved it to Loggerhead Marina. As with any new (to us) boat, we needed lots of supplies, parts, filters, strainers, etc. We had already turned in our rental car, and to top if off, the weather was terrible. Harbormaster Steve graciously spent his lunch hour (plus more) shuttling us from Wal-Mart, to West Marine to marine supply places yo get everything we needed. Steve also arranged for me to have a private room for a business conference call the next day. Very accommodating. Would definitely return!

Wonderful marina and staff, 2013-05-22
Captain: , St Louis Missouri (276)

We arrived here from our winter Bahamas cruise and decided to stay here for the summer. The staff is really great. The pool and dockside restaurant too. Quite a few cruisers have done as we have done by staying on for awhile. We travel back and forth in the summer/ autumn from our soil based home in St Louis and are looking forward to exploring the East coast of Florida from our new base at Loggerhead in Stuart. Btw, the St Lucie inlet is rough but certainly navigable for our 6 foot draft. We wouldn't have known that except for Active Captain.

Not what it used to be, 2013-05-06
Captain: , Punta Gorda, Fl (880)

We will NOT dock here again. Before the affiliation with Loggerhead this was a great marina. Always a strong current for dockage-that is a given. Used to have a shuttle to take you across the bridge to downtown for lovely restaurants--no more. We had to rent a car. We had electrical issues with power stations and was not our problem. They were in disrepair.Lovely pool and exercise center/showers. With all the marinas in the Stuart area there are better ones to utilize.

I lived here during this winter 2012-13, 2013-02-09
Captain: , Stuart, Florida (203)

This is a great place to call home. Hot tub and pool are always perfectly clean. Water aerobics MWF. Wonderful group of people with many activites. basket making, dominos, mahjong.

I moved here in December, and because everyone is so friendly and nice, I have not left. I love the Tuesday potluck, and the Friday social hour.

It is always clean. The staff works very hard to keep it clean. I feel like I live in a resort rather than a marina. Yes it is a long walk, but, it is so pleasant. Best place to see a marvelous sunrise. I am on the outer docks and I get the wake, but it is no worse than being on anchor.

You can walk into downtown Stuart over the railroad bridge. Walk up to Publix. there is a nice dog park to the east of Publix.

1st Class Amenities, 2013-01-15
Captain: , Castine, Maine (2964)

Everything about this facility is first rate. The staff is friendly and competent. You have a choice of fixed or floating docks. We opted for the fixed. The docks are well maintained and there is a security gate which is nice. You can have a great casual meal at Wahoo's or sit by the pool and have a bite at Splash. Boaters have access to the first floor of the club which includes the very nice pool area. There was an active liveaboard community there that had a potluck dinner one night and has a Happy Hour on the floating docks every Friday. The marina holds a special event at least once a month, check out the schedule at the head of the dock. There's a lovely walkway that runs along the water which we used every morning to walk the dogs. And there were lots of dogs around making Dyna and Dylan happy.

There's free WiFi which worked fine for us and a free pump out dock. Or you can call the pump out boat and they will come to you on Tuesdays, you must call ahead, for a $5 donation. A Publix is about a mile walk which we did several times. We found it was best to go out of the marina and turn south (to the right and away from the bridge) as there is a wide sidewalk most of the way and far less traffic. Make sure to find out about their monthly rates that also let you visit other Loggerhead Marinas for a low rate. It lets you actually cruise your boat to new places while saving money.

Yes, parking is tight, as it is everywhere in Stuart, but the marina is working to improve the situation with some solutions coming soon. If you're going to Stuart you should really check them out.

Seasonal Home, 2013-01-09
Captain: , Callawassie Island SC (31)

This is our 4th winter here. The staff, returnong boaters, and location are great. You can bike or walk to almost anything you need. The parking is not an issue for us as we view it as exercise! The one down for us on the floating docks is the rocking caused by boats on the river as this is NOT a no wake zone.

Much Improved, 2013-01-03
Captain: , Stuart, FL (909)

We stayed for the month of December. Steve, the Harbormaster, and Stan and Ned, the Dockmaster's, were very friendly and accommodating. They put us in a slip that was a little tight for us, then urged us to move to a better slip. Throughout our stay, they were helpful and wanted to do anything to make our stay a pleasant experience.

The docks are in good shape. The clubhouse is beautiful. We were not able to use the exercise facility due to "condo rules". But, the pool is beautiful and "Splash", the poolside bar and restaurant is fun and inexpensive. Wahoo's is reopened and we had a great dinner there.

Parking is a bit of a challenge but not impossible. The people on the dock were very welcoming and we met everyone at the Tuesday night potluck dinners.

We stayed on the fixed dock. The floating docks are a long walk from the clubhouse and laundry, etc. What made our stay were the people in the office and the people on the dock. Highly recommended.

Good for a month rental, 2012-12-27
Captain: , Salem, MA (372)

At $12.00 per ft per month it is not bad. A bonus is that you can use part of your month at their other marinas. Down side as many have stated is the long walk and parking. The other boaters are very friendly.

too expensive and nothing close by, 2012-12-08
Captain: , Halifax Marina Daytona Beach (300)

the short slip was tight, it was not easy with the wind to get in, no floating, too expensive, you have to walk forever to get safe over the railroad tracks and the busy Hwy, gates everywhere

Good for long term slip rental, 2012-11-16
Captain: , Poughkeepsie, NY (5620)

The $12 ft rate is for concrete, floating docks. They cater to long term slip rentals. The docks are substantial and securely protect your boat with pilings in the corners for additional tie offs. I've docked my boat here for the last three years while in New York for Thanksgiving and Christmas and the dockmaster will check your boat while away. Last year he even pumped the rainwater out of my dinghy, much appreciated!

The facility is first rate with a pool, showers, laundry and restaurant, just far away (10 min walk). I was met by two dock hands to help me in during 25 kt winds, many thanks!

Be aware that the floating docks are exposed to passing wakes but not too bad and the traffic stops at night. The docks themselves are very stable (floating concrete).

I've found the fellow boaters to be very friendly. The parking can be tight but I've always been able to find a spot for my rental car. The new WiFi antennas that blanket the floating docks work very well and the free TV cable service is a plus.

remote and restrictive, 2012-08-11
Captain: , Erie PA (10)

This marina is not close to shopping/provisioning without a car. The wave action is pretty strong at times. The latest rule is that you cannot bring your own food or drinks to the Captain's lounge which is supposed to be there for the boaters use. Pool side restaurant seems to think they run the place...?

Not worth the $$, 2012-03-22
Captain: , Dover DE (228)

We stayed here for several months. Few marina facilities (bath/shower and small pool). Access to Stuart (city) is via long walk. No local market access w/o bicycles. Parking is problematic. East winds result in lots of bouncing as no breakwater. Will not return.

Many Changes, 2012-03-20
Captain: , Westport CT (250)

Nice marina but lots of "rules." No safe place to lock-up a bike. Horrible parking situation; after 7PM it's almost impossible to park. No access to the health club which was available in the past. No direct access to the pool, you must walk around to the club entrance then sign-in to access the pool. Nice staff but they are hamstrung by corporate regulations and frequent rules changes. Whahoo's is reopening after renovation which will make parking almost impossible.

Pretty rough out on the floating docks, 2012-03-08
Captain: , Jupiter, FL (1236)

We stayed one night then moved on.
We've been back since to visit friends and the fixed docks seem better.
The restaurant Wahoo has gone out of business, but they have a poolside pup that's pretty good.

Good long term stop, 2012-01-08
Captain: , Greenville TX (580)

We stopped here for a month, and have decided to stay longer. Great people on the boats, although the 'cliff dwellers' in the condos try to make it difficult with lots of silly rules about availability of services.
We did hear about the Garmin theft on New Years but haven't heard of any other crime since we've been here.
Close to good restaurants and reasonable walk to grocery store.

Mixed feelings, 2012-01-02
Captain: , Orlando (224)

There are many good points about this marina (well built floating and fixed docks, good fuel dock, friendly staff), but there are negatives (limited parking and a long walk to the parking area are the biggies). But my biggest problem is that I was the victim of a theft of a new Garmin chartplotter on New Year's day, at high noon no less! I'd like to think that my experence is not the norm (confirmed by many of the "regulars" that I met).

What a rip, 2011-12-15
Captain: , Stuart (15)

this has to be the most boater unfriendly Marina on the east coast. biggest mistake I made in years. the staff does there best under the rules put forth. heads and showers not available after 9P. very sterile enviorment. cater to the mega's. 151 sliops and 9 parking spaces/. recommend swinging on the hook than here.

They have finally got their act together, 2011-12-05
Captain: , Stuart FL (805)

November 2011
We stayed at the marina for most of Nov. Docks fixed and rate !4.5/ft. This year excellent, competent and very cooperative staff.

Pool is available but think the weight room is not going to be available for boaters in the near future. This year Wahoo's reaturant is closed so parking for long term boaters was great!! and noise level on the docks certainly less. However one has to walk a bit further now to find a resturant. We take advantage of the loggerhead club reciproical agreements with other loggerheade marinas between Daytona and Hollywood. This makes the cost of marinas on the way to Marathon quite reasonable. However the daily trainsent rate is near $2/ft for a nights stay.

The difference in this marina this year compared to last is very noticeably improved. Highly recommend

The first place we found when we entered the river., 2011-11-05
Captain: , Whitfield Estates, Sarasota, FL (928)

The NE wind made docking a real challenge. When we finally got docked, after backing up and screaming at each other for 3 minutes the boat was very stable on the dock. Service was excellent. They gave us a map of the Okeechobee waterway locks and bridges but it is out of date and some of the numbers are inaccurate. "Yes, that was our number two years ago". So call some of the bridges until you get an answer and they can correct the remaining numbers for you. There are other marinas further up the river that are more protected from easterly winds.

Less than desirable, 2011-05-04
Captain: , Murfreesboro, TN (360)

Getting a$25.00 parking ticket and having a dingy motor stolen on the same day left a bad taste in my mouth. No sympathy from the GM, Renee, made it worse. 1000 yard walk to the bathrooms and very little protection from E. winds. Better places to stay in the area.

Has Pretty Much Everything, 2011-05-03
Captain: , Annapolis (1465)

We spent three months here this winter and really enjoyed it. Great people and amenities. Parking can be a problem on Fri and Sat nights due the restaurant (Wahoos) crowd.

Floating docks are less expensive but are prone to wave action from the river. It's also quite a hike from there to the office area.

Martin County pump out boat comes every Tuesday morning to you slip.

Free WiFi

Pretty, but rolly and inconvenient, 2011-03-28
Captain: , Cruising (3259)

This is a pretty facility with a gorgeous pool and workout room, but the docks are very rolly from boat wakes in the River, and very far from anything, and it's very expensive. Wahoo's Restaurant has very loud music - avoid the fixed docks unless you want to hear it from your boat until late hours. The floating docks are more rolly and farther from the amenities, but a more quiet atmosphere. No heads or showers on the docks so if you need to go ashore for that it's a very long walk. Parking is a pain. You can safely bike to Publix just to the N by staying on the sidewalk on the west side of Rt. 1 and crossing over to Publix at the traffic light - it's not that far.
Dock hands seem to prefer transients at the fixed dock - less distance for them to travel to help you tie up since their office is on the fixed dock.

Pleasant stay, 2011-03-26
Captain: , St. Augustine, FL (215)

Stayed here for two nights. It was pleasant but $2/ft is a little high for what they offer. Arrived after a difficult Gulfstream crossing so the crew (my wife) was looking for the first deep water slip available. Clearing Customs and Immigration was difficult.

ok marina but $2 a foot, 2011-01-30
Captain: , millsboro DE (300)

stayed overnight here marina is ok and staff are ok restruant at the marina is nothing to write home about the fee is way too much for what you get this was the most expensive marina I stayed at all the way from md on the ICW

Loggerhead Marina (fka: Harborage Yacht Club), 2011-01-25
Captain: , Hernando Beach, Fl (300)

Very nice floating and fixed docks, Wifi, and cable TV. They also give privelages to the Harborage Yacht Club with pool, hot tub, tiki bar, restaurant, and gym. Free ice at the fuel dock. Service is very minimal with young inexperienced dock hands. It is a rather long walk from the floating docks. Also Wahoos restaurant and bar on site. It's a short dinghy ride across the river to downtown Stuart with lot's of shopping and restaurants.

West docks is a long walk but worth it

Parking is an issue, 2011-01-02
Captain: , Fort Myers (749)

Not to echo everything that has been written.... its a very nice marina with an exceptional staff. We are here for a month and I don't care for their policy of one month's lease in advance for a security deposit and then another hit for the same amount for the lease...especially when they already have your credit card.

One big negative is the parking. There is essentially none. City is ticketing/towing overnight parkers. Won't stay here again until they can resolve this issue.

And yes, the floating docks are very rolly.

Loggerhead Marina, 2010-12-18
Captain: , Wickford, RI (1637)

We stopped here to visit with friends we had not seen for a long time.
We must have hit it at a time when the help was not "helpful". Could not get a decent description of our docking location. Could only describe docks as floating or fixed and didn't attempt to tell us which we were going to, even when we asked for a description of location and where to put line/fenders. Answer to if "port or Stbd" finger dock was, "a wild guess would be port side".
Not a great experience when the rolloing was factered in. All that said, the Wahoo resturant food was actually quite good and we got to enjoy our friends company.

Great Ammenities and rates, 2010-12-08
Captain: , Fort Pierce, Florida (369)

Just started our extended vacation and found this marina to have excellent ammenities: heated pool, jacuzzi, fitness center and three restaurants on site now. Rates are reasonable for the services and the staff and dock guys are really helpful. Stores are a little farther, but can be walked to. Courtesy car would be helpful.

Maybe 3 1/2 stars - it's getting better with Loggerhead management, 2010-11-29
Captain: , Sarasota (1427)

Have stayed here twice - where you are has a lot to do with the "rolliness factor". Last time we were closer to the river and had a lot of roll - this time we are on the A dock (closest to land) and rolled very little (never saw less than 7 ft depth). BTW, the photo in AC is years out of date - there's a whole new North dock (which is where you want to stay) - use Google Earth. Things seem smoother here since Loggerhead took over managing the facility. There was a certain amount of pretentiousness when it was the "Yacht Club" - that's gone now. There are two restaurnts on site - Wahoo's is OK for drinks and live music - the yacht club restaurant has a more upscale menu. There is also Courtine's across the street and a great ribs place (Park Ave BBQ) across the street also. Downtown Stuart is about 1 1/2 miles from the marina - big stores and supermarkets are more like 3 miles - they really need a coutesy car. They have a good monthly rate.

Pleasant Stay, 2010-03-21
Captain: , Sea Cliff, NY (1022)

We stayed here for two months after purchasing our new (to us) boat. Yes, as others have noted, it can be a bit rolly, and the walk from the floating docks is rather long, HOWEVER, we liked the the walking exercise. Everyone we met here was terrific. The fixed docks are closer to the marina office, but the music from the on-site bar/restaurant is much louder over there.

Did not get a chance to try the nicer Yacht Club restaurant, but directly across the street from the top of the floating docks is a restaurant named Courtines. Reserve a table in the bar area and order one of the hamburgers. You won't be dissapointed.

Harborage Marina, Stuart, 2010-03-08
Captain: , Norfolk, VA (671)

This marina is overpriced at $2.00/ ft + $10 for 30 amp elec. The office is nearly a mile from where we were docked. We were not told of the locked gate at night or the combination for it. Got locked out. Nor were we told of where the restrooms were or the code there. The worst part is how rolly it is because of the wakes from constant passing boats. Why anyone would stay here with Sunset Bay across the river and downtown is beyond me. We came in only to meet a repair person. In our three and a half month voyage, it is the worst and only marina we have been dissatisfied with.

OK, but there are better marinas in the vacinity, 2010-02-21
Captain: , Buffalo (1144)

The dockmaster was very helpful in getting us in in the very confusing dock arrangement. But there was a private party in the clubhouse with very loud music, and boaters had no access to the showers or pool during the party. All this for $2 a foot with no BoatUS discount means that this marina is no bargain.

Great for long term, 2010-01-19
Captain: , Stuart, FL (30)

Our Catamaran, KNOT TIDE DOWN, has been docked at Harborage for almost two years. The harbor master and crew are vary attentive to our needs as long distance owners and the price is reasonable - less than $600 per month for 43 ft. Ameneities are good too.

Nice Marina, 2010-01-19
Captain: , Baltimore (317)

We moved our boat here in December. The facilities are pretty nice. There is a nicer marina restaurant and a marina grill that are on the premise. There is also a Wahoo's bar and restaurant right there as well. The downtown area of Stuart is about a 25 minute walk away. Our draft is 5'10" and we occasionally hit the bottom during low tide. We also hit the bottom trying to get into our slip during low tide. We had to wait for it to go up before we could get in. They charge $2 a foot daily and 13.50 a foot monthly. Standard cable and internet is included. They have a really nice workout facility with free weights, nautalus machines, and treadmills/eliptical machines (each with it's own tv).

As stated earlier, it can get rocky depending on the wind and boats passing by. The Yacht club marina (w/out floating docks) is much closer to the building. The Harborage marina is a farther away but has floating docks.

Outstanding facility, 2009-12-04
Captain: , South Portland, ME (537)

Harborage is one of the best facilities we have been to. Several bars and restaurants on premises. Outstanding health cluband a swimming pool is available to marina patrons. About a one mile walk across bridge into downtown Stuart. Rolls a little due to exposure to the bay.

Harborage Marina - 2009/11/24, 2009-11-28
Captain: , Pasadena, MD (1496)

There are two sets of docks here at Harborage. One set is fixed, the other is floating. The transient spaces on the flotaing docks are a long way from the marina office. The fixed docks are closer. The facility is modern. Floating docks are exposed to passing wakes. Given the distance from the office and restaurants, and poor exposure, this is not a particularly desireable stop, especially if you're at all lame of step. Bikes are clearly an asset here.

Pricing but nice, 2009-03-15
Captain: , Memphis TN (977)

Plenty of dockage, but a bit exposed to the wind. $2.00 per foot for transient slip. Nice eating facility. Dockmast very helpful.

Expensive, but good services, 2009-01-05
Captain: , Absarokee Mt (1228)

Wakes and waves from bay an issue, exposed to south and east wind. Fixed docks. Close to resturants. 2$ ft. which is typical of the east Fla dockage rates but is too expensive.

The Northside Marina has been replaced by new ownership. It is now the Haborage Yacht Club. New fixed docks have been constructed with a new breakwater.
