Reviews for Loggerhead Marina - South Miami
Nice Marina, 2017-02-27

The marina is part of several called Loggerhead. Fuel price was good - $2.68. No pump-out at fuel dock. To pump out, you have to go to the restaurant dock and talk to the Sherrif. It's free, but we gad to get going, so. we opted out.

No transients, except they let you stay at the fuel dock.

Stopped in for fuel on our way south to our home dock at Manatee Bay. Entrance channel is long and narrow but well protected. Four uniformed staff were on the fuel dock and provided prolevel assistance docking and handled the fueling for us.

Thanks... we'll be back

Went into Black Point channel yesterday for fuel. It is located at Loggerhead Marina in the channel. Raining hard, yet staff met us at the dock to help tie up. Uniformed staff was impressive and professional. Price for fuel also good and we used our Sea Tow discount.

Had lunch at the restaurant (Ocean something) and back on our way without any complaints.

Great stop for fuel, 2013-12-09
Captain: , Oriental, NC (150)

Needed fuel before we crossed to the Bahamas and since they have Valvtech we decided to stop. It's a shallow entrance in one spot but we went in on high tide (5' draft) and all was well. Very good service and efficient and accomodating. Loggerhead consistently has a good operation.

Great group of people, 2013-12-03

We had our boat in the marina to have some work done by Southeast Marine in August. While there, Michael and Maria spent time talking about perks and other Loggerhead Marinas. We decided to do a few months to try the place out and have been very happy so far since Oct.

As an experienced boater in different waters around the world I was fortunate enough to also come across this facility - Loggerhead - in South Miami. The harbormaster and the entire staff have been extremely knowledgeable, courteous and helpful and I have personally experiences and seen them go out of their way to make sure their customers and patrons have everything necessary to make each day a pleasant one on the water. I HIGHLY recommend visiting this facility and discussing whatever your boating necessities might be. I take my boat out on the water most days of the week and look forward to seeing - and talking to the staff. Thank you to ALL the staff at Loggerhead Marina - South Miami. So happy to have found you.

Great trip into facility, 2011-09-20

Our Captain took our trawler into port there, the staff very friendly and helped as if we were members of their club. Shallow entry at first pin, but well marked. Found out we got a discount with our Sea Tow membership.

Secure and easy dockage, 2011-01-26
Captain: , Stuart FL (835)

Loggerhead has 13 marinas and we have stayed at 4. The staff here are competent and well trained which is more than I can say for Hollywood and South Lantana Marinas.
Was told had plenty of water (draw 4 feet 8 inches). As went over 4 foot spot outside channel saw about 6 inches on depth sounder. The tide at Turkey point just south showed between 6-12 inches. If go in just south of channel there is a little more water except the lowest we saw was at mouth of channel.

A 300 foot floating dock makes for easy tie ups and there are great walking trails.

I you are careful of the tide at mouth of channel it is highly recommended.

One other point. The lat/lon on the loggerweb site is confusing. as to whether the position is the marina or the outer channe markerl. Talked with Kyle (harbormaster) about this and by next day he had discussed it with management and they are going to to make some changes to web site to specify what the positions are

No power or water but good place to stay for 1-2 days

I was forced into stopping here as the result of a hand injury while underway. The staff bent over backward to accomodate us even though they had no vacancies. They were waiting for us with extra staff to handle lines and had a cab on hand for transportation to the nearest hospital. The dockmaster graciously waived dock fees because of the situation. Very secure and well protected.

A good place to stay, 2007-02-02

The facility is a very nice and well-kept county marina. Total protection from wind and current, with good security. It would be four stars if there was anything nearby. The management arranged to have us taken to our car rental agency, so we weren't stuck. The docks are fixed, high concrete with short finger piers. Gas and diesel are on-site, but the prices are quite high.
