Reviews for Loggerhead Marina - South Lantana
Be very wary, 2016-06-28
Captain: , currently Plantation Yacht Harbor, Islamorada, Fla. Keys (4407)

Stopped by in our tender. Could not raise the marina on the radio. Followed signs to the "Dockmaster, Ship's Store, and Captain's Lounge" and found that it was now occupied by a boat rental company. they had no idea where the dockmaster was, but suggested I go next door to Murrelle Marine. They sent me back to the rental folks. I called the number listed on AC, but got no answer. Went to Loggerhead Lantana to see if they had moved there, but was told they were seperate facilities. Otherwise, the docks looked servicable, but I'm not going to trust my boat here. Too bad becasue we enjoyed our stay at Loggerhead Hollywood.

Management response:

We sincerely apologize for the confusion in locating our office. Our South Lantana marina office is located at the Lantana location, which is just past Murrelle Marine.

We are taking the corrective actions to ensure our staff is properly trained on the radio, and proper signage is in place. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope you will give us another try in the future.

Phone Customer Service Issue, 2015-08-23
Captain: , Key Largo (392)

Tried to call ahead to arrange transient dockage. Was abruptly put pn hold for extended period and then told the "person that handles that' was not available and would have to call back. I left my phone number but didn't get the courtesy of a return call.

Note: This is unusual. I am often very pleased with the service and effort of Loggerhead staff.

Convenient to the ICW, 2015-02-18
Captain: , Annapolis (2892)

Was surprised to find the rates had gone up 25%. This is a pretty location, but the rates exceed the value. It is better than paying Palm Beach prices, but there are no amenities. Would only recommend this if you just need a place for a night and need no amenities. Have stayed very happily at other Loggerhead marinas. This one is not worth the price of admission

Great People, 2014-08-27
Captain: , Peoria, IL (20)

We stayed at the South Lantana location for a few months and really enjoyed the people there. The facilities are nice, but the Condos run the place. No actual marina facilities (showers, etc) at the south location. They are all located in the condo building.

Not a marina, 2014-01-13
Captain: , Annapolis (795)

I completely agree with the other reviews here, but cannot understand the high ratings. This is not a marina - it is a condo that happens to have open slips. In my opinion, a five-star marina has to have 24 hour staff, ice, chandlery, fuel, at the very least. The docks are too big for any boat under 48 feet, and coming in after hours and solo, it took me forever to get the boat tied up and even longer to cast off the following morning. Not the fault of the facility, but there is no staff here after 5 pm. There is no bathhouse either, but you can use the locker room in the condo's gym. There is a minimum charge for the oversized slips or $2.00 a foot, whichever is more. Give this so-called marina a pass.

Nice Facility, 2014-01-08
Captain: , Wilmington, NC (250)

We stayed 3 nights including New Years. Fixed docks, with wide slips and really short finger piers. Facilities are excellent (part of adjacent condo), very nice bathrooms, sauna, exercise room, hot tub, pool, lounge with pool table and big screen TV. Not much within easy walking distance, and not a great area to be walking very far. Office is now located at the other Lantana marina, but staff will come get you in golf cart. Staff very friendly.

Much below expectations, 2013-12-29
Captain: , Key Largo (122)

Agree with prior post, and... Very difficult to tie up properly and safely in slips off the center fairway due to slip width, piling and cleat placement, finger pier length, and shells growing on pilings that extend past the protective numbers.

Not at all advertised!, 2013-12-15
Captain: , South Riding, VA (55)

They say they have "combined" the two marinas but they have actually just closed the office at South and you have to walk 20 minutes just to check in. As you walk through the cobble-stoned walk you realize that there are practically no retail businesses here and the area of town is quite seedy, not at all as advertised. I am a Loggerhead member but will not come here again.

Good marina/clean/friendly people/good shopping not far away, 2013-12-13
Captain: , Vancouver (510)

Pulled into the outer dock (parallel to the ICW) in high winds to pick up a crew member. Walked to the Publix grocery store and took a cab back (waited 45mins for cab). This facility is very nice, friendly folks and not "pushy". Clean docks, good garbage disposals and a no-hassle environment. Was referred to this marina by Glenn at Palm Gardens Loggerhead Marina after staying there one night (see that review).

quiet place to stay, 2013-03-05
Captain: , Long Island (20)

On our trip south, we stayed at South Lantana, Loggerhead marina. The dockhands were very helpful, they even took our trash from us!. The office was 2 properties away, but the staff drove us over with a golf cart, where we met the two harbormasters, who were extremely helpful with all the information we needed for a wonderful stay. Nice people all around. We will definately stay here again on the way back north.

Nice stop over, 2012-02-11
Captain: , New Bern, NC (180)

Stayed 1 night on 1/31/2012. Fixed concrete piers in good condition. The slips are bit wide for a 12' beam. We arrived after hours so we didn't get keys to the facilities but the doorman at the Moorings gave us access. They have an excellent sauna. Too late to use the pool or hot tub.

It's a couple of blocks to the Post Office and several restaurants. We needed some plumbing repairs so we moved over to Loggerhead North the next morning for repairs.

Convienent location but be careful, 2012-01-29
Captain: , Monches,wi (330)

Stayed overnight 1-28-2012. Arrived after closing but staff was very helpful on the phone re: location info and docking directions.

Very exposed to Lake worth so any winds from either north or south will keep you moving while in slips.

Design of piers is very poor. Much exposed concrete. Place fenders carefully.

Visit with friends here., 2011-12-03
Captain: , Solomons, MD (1290)

12/1/11 Have been here before. Always a good stop. The Moorings has great facilities, good staff, very pleasant and helpful. We came in with very strong winds @ 20-30 kts and the dock hands were very good. The $2.00 ft. plus $9.00 for 30 amp, it is not inexpensive. The concrete docks are solid and water depth on approach and in the slips is 8-10 ft. It's proximity to the ICW , just past the R38, is an easy on and off are positive features. Tidal range was 1-2ft and we bounced because of the heavy winds that evening at 30-40 kts.
