Reviews for Loggerhead Marina - Palm Beach Gardens
Good Hurricane Refuge, 2017-09-17
Captain: , Fort Myers, FL (121)

As Irma came barreling up the state of Florida we had to evacuate Old Port Cove and secured a slip here. Fixed docks may not be ideal, but the location makes up for it. While we only had 75 MPH winds and little surge, and our 50 Nordhavn was very well tied & fendered, it should be noted that we saw no dock or boat damage in the aftermath.

Staff was accommodating and helpful during our prep phase. They know how to weather a wicked storm.

Captain: , Melbourne, Fl (50)

Decided to stop at Loggerhaed to relax and play golf on a local course. Paid for 3 nights of dockage. The weather pattern changed with rain and thunderstorms at 80% chance progressing from the south for the next several days. Since we could not play golf and would like tp proceed north ahead of the approaching weather we decided to leave a day early. Harbormaster, Glen, said he could not refund our slip fee for the day we had already paid for and told us to talk to Rebecca the next day. We left at 7AM th following day and called Rebecca requesting a credit for our slip fee. She informed us that "corporate" does not issue refunds and that they have "no control of the weather". So in essence we paid for services no rendered. I would recommend avoiding this establishment and stay at North Palm Beach Marina instead.

Liveaboard Marina, 2017-04-17
Captain: , Palm Beach Gardens, FL (10)

Great liveaboard location and hurricane hole. Really enjoy the liveaboard community. Good dock management and friendly dock-hands. The marina will improve significantly when the new amentities building is completed later this year. Unfortunately, the overall rating is hampered by the lack of laundry and grilling facilities, so-so portable restrooms and fairly significant construction dust from new condos being developed. Thanks Glen (dockmaster) for doing what you can!

Nice place, 2017-03-01
Captain: , Harrison Township Michigan (380)

They are still in the process of completing the marina. Supposed to be finished end of 2017. This is a wonderful place to stay. Glenn the harbor master is so accommodating to everyone's needs and a ride back from the restaurant. Dock hands are very polite. Can't say enough about this marina. We will make this one of our places to stay the next time around.

Will Be Real Nice...Someday, 2016-10-17
Captain: , Stuart FL (778)

As noted earlier, the staff--Glen, Patrick, Chris, et al--could not be more pleasant or helpful. They expect to be in their new office with Captain's Lounge, heads, etc. by the end of October 16. That'll immediately add another star. Construction on condos continues; can be noisy, dusty. So for now, this is a tidy, snug landing and an excellent overnight stop with limited amenities. Donald Ross Blvd is a busy road, not an idyllic stroll, but the walk to stores and restaurants is not bad, only about a mile.

Good place during a storm, 2016-10-12
Captain: , Valletta (20)

We stayed from June to September 2016 including the period through hurricane Matthew. Happy to say we were totally safe during the hurricane. Nice staff, OK facilities. A long way to any restaurant or shop. Uber or Enterprise.

Great stop for the night, 2016-08-17
Captain: , Portland,Oregon (330)

I only needed one night and did not check out the area. The Marina has some construction going on around it but it was not an issue. This will be a pretty cool place once all is done. Anyway, no issues for my 4 1/2 draft trawler going in at high tide and leaving at low tide. When I arrived two friendly dock hands were there to tie me up. When I checked in, Glen asked where I was going. He gave me some advise on the bridges and I was able to time all of them making my southbound trip much better! Thanks Glen! When we head back this direction I will be back!

GREAT Marina, GREAT People, GREAT Location and GREAT Wi-Fi!!!, 2016-08-13
Captain: , Hobe Sound, FL (20)

Loggerhead Marina in Palm Beach Gargens is a real treat! Centrally located in northern Palm Beach County on Donald Ross Rd and the Intercoastal, the towns of Juno Beach and Jupiter are right next to the Marina. The beach is only 1 mile east, and there are plenty of shops and restaurants in the strip mall about a half mile over the ICW bridge. A CVS pharmacy is conveniently located less than a mile away at Donald Ross and US-1.

The Harbormaster Glenn always has a positive "can do" attitude and the office manager Rebecca is very kind and knowledgeable. The dock hands that Glenn hires are very pleasant and extremely willing to offer a helping hand with anything that you could need.

The icing on the cake is the fact that the Wi-Fi service at Loggerhead PBG is strong and reliable! It is supplied and maintained by an independent company called onSpot Wi-Fi and they specialize in providing reliable and consistant internet service to marinas. More marinas should take note! Customers will be happy and marina staff does not have to worry about any IT issues because onSpot provides a phone number with human beings at the ready to help with any tech support needs 7 days a week! What a relief to be able to get work done from the comfort of my boat because thanks to fast and reliable Wi-Fi in such a great setting.

Great spot with even nicer staff, 2016-05-09
Captain: , Sarasota Fl (109)

What was suppoosed to be a 2 to 3 night stay turned into 3 weeks for me with weather and shipping delays. Being as the boat was an 85' beast there were challenges with where to put it. Glenn the dockmaster and Rebecca in the office were as helpful and accommodating as humanly possible. Marina is very protected in bad weather and docks are in great shape. I look forward to visiting again!

Management response:
Dear Chuck Royhl,
Thank you so much for the positive comments! Please know that I will pass along this sincerest thank you to our team members and acknowledge their hard work and commitment to the marina.

Again, on behalf of Loggerhead Marina - Palm Beach Gardens and our entire organization, a heart-felt thank you. We look forward to seeing you again soon and serving your needs for many years to come. Happy boating!

not your best choice, 2016-05-02
Captain: , Tempe, AZ (240)

This marina is back in the swamps with lots of healthy mosquitos and noseeums. REALLY nice staff but no amenities....just a construction zone. Showers in the temporary building were good. Might be nice by October 2016. None of the advertised bikes or shuttle exist and there is nothing to see or do within miles.

Management response:
Dear Satch,
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience at our marina and we apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced.

Loggerhead Marina - Palm Beach Gardens is located in a well-protected harbor just off the west side of the Intracoastal Waterway in the center of thriving luxury communities and three vibrant towns. We are located near the Abacoa spring training ballpark, many wonderful beaches, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center, and more.

The Azure Luxury Condominium is scheduled for occupancy October 1st and we are highly anticipating its completion. We hope you will give us another chance in the future and looking forward to seeing you again. Thank you.

What a beautiful place for an extended stay, 2016-04-07
Captain: , Woodstock, Georgia (409)

We stayed here from February 8th to March 25th, 2016. The shopping is not close but if you like to walk or have bicycles you can get to Publix, Walgreens and CVS. Enterprise is only a mile south on highway 1 and will deliver tot he marins. Marina staff go out of their way to make your stay confortable. This is the first Loggerhead marina we have stayed at and will use them again in the future.

Great marina but nothing near by, 2016-03-19
Captain: , Sunset Beach, NC (1146)

They sent two good guys to help us get backed in, which is always nice. Great marina, and was protected from wind and currents, so even on a windy day we got backed in easily. The only reason I give it 3 stars is that there is nothing nearby, we had to Uber to the Publix. Otherwise a fine place to stop. With BoatUS discount it's about as cheap as you'll find in this area.

Great dockmaster and location, 2016-01-17
Captain: , Little Creek VA (605)

Can't say enough about Glenn...gave us his own car to use to shop. Marina is in the middle of a condo development...may not be available in the future (sad). Facilities are good, but not great.

Emergency Repairs - Ended with 7 day stay, 2015-12-14
Captain: , Moline, IL (10)

Except for poor WIFI, I couldn't have asked for anything more. Harbor Master Glenn was great. For repairs, he referred me to (David and Kevin) who were outstanding. They repaired my electrical system and dealt with diesel engine and bilge issues as well. Quickly, efficiently, and for less than I expected it to cost. These are true professionals.

Great Maina, 2015-12-06
Captain: , solomons md (200)

This was a good place to stage for the next day of endless bridges. The Marina was very well cared for and the staff couldn't have been more help. I need a part for the boat and we needed supplies for our elderly dog. Harbor Master Glen Bendeck not only looked up the local NAPA store and Pet Smart and printed directions but also lent us his car. We will stop here on our way north for sure.

One of the best, 2015-08-07
Captain: , Olcott, NY (2536)

We echo previous comments about Glenn and his staff.
Our old Captain suggested this stop and he was so right.
We only stayed the night but the facility was immaculate and the service, FIRST CLASS!

Exceptional service for pet emergency, 2015-07-25
Captain: , Belhaven, NC (30)

Our dog, Kota, an Alaskan Malamute, experienced a seizure about 30 minutes prior to Palm Beach Gardens. The situation grew graver just as we passed Loggerhead's Palm Beach Garden facility. I called Harbor Master Glenn Bendeck, explained our situation, and received an immediate intivation to dock. He arranged with his mate Shelby to tansport us to Vetinary Specialty Hospital nearby for emergency attention. The dock crew helped carry Kota to the car and within 20 minutes after docking he was ibeing cared for. There are two other vets within 10 minutes but VSH handles emergencies without an appointment.

Great location, friendly staff, nice facilities, 2015-06-02
Captain: , Deerfield Beach, FL 33441 (60)

This Loggerhead location compares well with other Loggerhead marinas. Glen and his staff are very helpful and courteous. The docks are well kept and the finger piers are sufficiently wide to allow side exit and entrance. There are several restaurants (nothing fancy) on the East side of the Donald Ross bridge that we like. There also is the turtle sanctuary which is a great place to spend an hour or so.

Frank/Eleanor Langley -Après Sail C23, 2015-03-04
Captain: , toronto (10)

Have to give them a Five Star rating. We stayed there from Nov/14 until Jan/21/15. Glenn the DockMaster and Rebecca , Office Mgr are the best. They, and their crew cannot do enough for you. Ask and if it is possible it is quickly taken care of. We stop at many Loggerhead Marinas and they are all excellent, but Palm Beach Gardens is by far the best. A very hospitable environment. Look forward to staying there again .

One-Nighter, 2015-02-01
Captain: , Henderson Harbor, NY (431)

Pulled in for one day, and they made room for me and provide excellent service. Its my 2nd Loggerhead Marina and the trend seems to be consistent with quality management, staff, and services. I would return without hesitation.

Great staff and friendly people on the docks, 2015-01-23
Captain: , Chicago, Racine, Fish Creek,Wi (3189)

I came in single handed, needed assistance, and Glenn did not hesitate to jump on my boat at the fuel dock to help me land the boat in the slip. He also had additional help waiting for us at the slip. All the staff were accomdating, friendly, and eagar to help getting me secured and hooked up. Very well protected facility. The other slip holders were very friendly and it was a very pleasant stay.
Several resturants are about a mile walk accross the bridge and Grocery is 1.7 miles away. The Sea turtle rescue is only just over a mile away and the Ocean drive has a four mile plus beach to enjoy all the way to the Jupiter inlet.

Great Place!, 2015-01-10
Captain: , Breton Bay, Md (20)

Anticipating stormy weather, and needing a land base to make some repairs, we stayed here for 2 days. The facility is very clean and in good repair, including docks, showers and laundry, and the staff is professional, friendly and very accommodating. We were able to get rides for supplies in all different directions. Friendly live-aboards also volunteered to help us out. Courtesy bikes would be a helpful addition. Thumbs up to Glen, Rebecca, and Ted. We'll be back!

Loggerhead Marina PBG FL- a year and a half summation, 2014-11-27
Captain: , Jupiter, fl (40)

Im Marc, lay captian of 340 sea ray Amberjack. Recieved the boat in Stuart Fl nd was at that Loggerhead Marina for 2 and a half Months. Im talking hear about the Loggerhead in Palm Beach Gardens. Were there are a lovely paradise with slightly clearer H20--there be this wonderful lagoon. An intracoastal bird sanctuary ,this aspect was so appreciated---i love birds. A hurricane hole in the middle of two inlets---location served well during this mild but nevertheless windy herricane season. Docking is so wonderful with about 5-15 mile winds LESS than in the ocean on average. Docking there is great. Most Important HarborMaster Glen Bendick and Rebecca are 10/10 when it comes to there jobs. Rebecca is wonderful and they both help you work out any problems.!!! Best of Luck..and
happy boating ... and here's to swimmin' with bow-legged women!!!!

Glen is a top notch manager, 2014-10-31
Captain: , Daytona Beach, Fl (10)

Glen and the crew at Loggerhead offer some of the best service found on the ICW! Always helpfull and ready to go the extra distance to help the boaters get what they need.

Very pleasant and most friendly, 2014-05-04
Captain: , Boothbay Harbor, Maine (310)

Harbormaster Glen could not have been more accommodating. The grounds are very well kept and the slips are well protected. Walk over the bridge and past the CVS on your left to the street in front of the ocean. There is a narrow public cut that is slightly to your right which leads to the beach. It is about 1.3 miles. Agree with all the prior positive comments.

What a wonderful Marina!, 2014-04-17
Captain: , Charleston SC (743)

We don't stay at marinas very often but this one will have to be a stop every year. The staff is really friendly and dedicated. They helped us in during a storm. The grounds are grassy and clean as are the restroom facilities. It is also one of the most pet-friendly places we've stayed. Go see the parrots (three of them) on E dock for some entertainment.

A Welcoming Marina, 2014-03-30
Captain: , Who Knew Green Cove Springs (40)

Loggerhead Marina in PBG is just south of Donald Ross Bridge. A well protected marina with easy access to fuel dock and pump out services on each dock.
Three clean bathrooms and showers along with laundry room in the main building. Walking distance to Juno Beach as well as great restaurants and local entertainment.

Glenn Bendeck and his professional staff are knowledgeable and courteous as they greet you at the slip. They go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. Glenn can guide you to great dining and qualified professionals to service your boat.

A must stop on your way north or south.

Friendly marina, 2014-03-29
Captain: , Fort Pierce, Florida (369)

We recently stayed at Loggerhead PBG using their reciprocity policy. We developed engine priblems and were towed there by TowboatUS. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant during that time. Facilities were clean and comfortable. The only issue we had was not with the marina. The closest restaurant or store is approximately a mile away. Will definitely go back.

Fantastic Dockmaster and Crew, 2014-01-08
Captain: , Miami Beach, Fl (10)

Thanks Glenn and your entire crew for a fantastic stay at your location. The marina is off the ICW just far enough to provide calm waters no matter what direction the wind blows. Glenn and his crew make sure you are directed to your slip and then ensure you have all the assistance necessary. This marina, as all the Loggerhead marinas I've visited, has WiFi, private heads/showers, pump out at your slip, But most importantly, a knowledgable, very professional staff and Dockmaster.
Highly recommended stop on the ICW...I'll definitely be back.
P.S. If Glenn gives you a restaurant recommendation, go there! Most places are kinda far to walk, but Enterprise car rental will pick you up at the marina.

Best Marina I have experienced from Rhode Island to Florida, 2013-12-13
Captain: , Vancouver (510)

I pulled in to Loggerhead single-handed on my 50ft ketch after calling on VHF and speaking to Glenn who was very helpful even before I arrived (after speaking to him I wanted to go to this marina !). Glenn is obviously very experienced and respects the needs of a busy captain in the traffic of the ICW-he is knowledgeable on the etiquette of VHF communications (kept it brief and to the point). The marina staff were dressed more like bakers (very clean) than your avg marina folk and extremely helpful in every respect. I didn't plan on staying as I had to get to Lantana to pick up a crew member the next day but I just had to stay and enjoy this great atmosphere. I did not regret it ! Thanks Glenn - I WILL BE BACK...

Wonderful care, 2013-11-04
Captain: , Tracys Landing, Maryland (350)

We unexpectedly needed dockage for the night, and were having trouble finding a marina that could handle our beam. Glen fit us in no problem, even staying late to make sure we got tucked in okay. He hooked us up with wonderful Chinese food, and then the next day drove us over to the turtle hospital. Thank you for making us feel so welcome!

Best Service Anywhere, 2013-06-26
Captain: , Vero Beach (20)

Glen the Harbormaster and his team, provide outstanding service to the boaters, go way above and beyond what you would expect. We have been to many marinas, and this staff is second to none. Always pleasant and helpful any way they can be. Watch over the boats like they were their own.

Great Marina!, 2013-04-04
Captain: , Rose Haven MD (10)

We intended to stay one night and ended up staying two. The marina was very nice with clean individual bathhouses, and the staff were great! When we called the office to find out where the ice machines were someone brought it to the boat.

Glenn and his crew couldn't have been nicer. In fact Glenn drove us to Guanabanas in Jupiter, in his car after he got off work to save us the cab ride! We grabbed a cab back for $25.

The cost per foot was very reasonable.

People told us the marina wasn't close to anything but Juno is a 10 minute walk over the bridge. We had a great dinner at the Thirsty Turtle (Glenn's reco). The Sea Turtle Rescue center is facinating. And of course the beach is really nice there. There was more to do and see but we ran out of time.

We highly reccomend Loggerhead Palm Beach Gardens.

Nice place but not spectacular, 2013-03-17
Captain: , Somers Point (460)

Came by here in early March. Met by an enthusiastic and capable staff. Bathrooms are nice and the ships store with coffee and popcorn is nice as well. However, after that, it does not offer much. I was going to take the dinghy down and go into Jupiter but had a bad battery. Stayed in the slip and did desk work. A good marina for an overnight or to hold your boat while you go away for a period.

An Outstanding Marina with Service to Match!, 2013-02-06
Captain: , Loggerhead Marina, PB Gardens (10)

We just put our 41' Carver in at Loggerhead Marina in Palm Beach Gardens Florida and it is a delightful slice of paradise! Easy docking, wide slips, super clean docks, convenient fueling on site, and outstanding friendly service from Harbormaster Glen and his enthusiastic crew! Capt Bullitt

Captain: , Mantoloking, nj (32)

This is a great marina with exceptional management and enthusiasm by Glen and his crew. Well protected from the elements and kept in pristine condition. Very well located to restaurants, groceries, etc. An added benifit is the free social membership to the PGA National Golf Club. Use of all facilities and 20% off of all food and goods purchases.

Great welcoming staff., 2013-02-03
Captain: , Winnipeg (10)

Recently Lu, H, and I had an opportunity to stay at LoggerHead Palm Beach Gardens. we had a significant breakdown while heading south on the ICW, broken prop and then an injector pump. as a result we were stuck at Loggerhead for a week while awaiting repairs (weekend in between).
The harbour master Glenn Bendeck, and his staff, Mandy, Ed, and Robert were awesome they helped us get around (chaufered) for reprovisioning, buying new batteries, delivering and picking up an injector pump. they helped us procure (borrow) tools and hooked us up with a prop shop and diesel mechanic. In short they went above and beyond to help us out when we were captive with no means of transportation. Thanks for all your help.
The facility unfortunately only receives an average or slightly above average rating. The docks are excellent and the facility is clean and well maintained. there are great showers and laundry facilities. However it has no real on-site services, ie bar, restaurant etc. as the marina is far from other amenities this causes transient sailors like us issues with transportation. Additionally the /ft rate is quite high at $2.75 per ft for a day rate without Boat Us discounts. with the discount the rate becomes a little more favourable. other marinas that we stayed at had many more amenities at lower rates. Perhaps this reflects location more than anything else.
Glenn did however give us an additional discount by offering us a free day and giving us the weekly rate which made it more palitable.
Would we stop here again? Possibly to see the staff and get fuel, water and a pumpout but as transient boaters probably not overnight.

Great Service, 2013-01-31
Captain: , Wilmington, DE (216)

It's a great feeling when you arrive at a marina and are met by an enthusiastic crew to tie you up and get you settled in. The new management has focused on safety and it shows.

An Outstanding Marina, 2012-11-30
Captain: , London, England (10)

I have owned boats for over 25 years and have known many marinas. I can honestly say that this is the best marina I have ever worked with, PERIOD.

Harbod Master Glenn Bendeck and his crew are by far the most polite, intelligent, and helpful crew I have ever known.

I originally put my boat in this marina for hurricane season because it is an excellent hurricane hole. I have stayed for 2 years because of the staff and their service.

I would highly recommend this marina to anyone looking for the best place to keep your boat.

Stephen Metcalf

Captain: , NORTH PALM BEACH (20)

Have stayed at this marina a few times over the winter months.
It is safe, have a courteous staff (Including the Dock Master), pump out at all docks and an easy to get to diesel and gas dock.
There is no surge or wake by passing boats on the intercoastal like some other marinas nearby!
Several restaurants just east of the Marina including a CVS Drugstore.
Can't go wrong with this place if you are in the area! : )
We will return!
Also a great place to use your kayak in a miriad of canals just to the west of the marina with nice and calm waters.

Great Marina!, 2012-11-15
Captain: , Bimini, Bahams (20)

Deep water and easy to get in and out, always staff around to help, nice ship's store and facilities. Thinking about keeping my boat there all winter.

Loggerhead Marina, 2009-05-11
Captain: , Cape Coral (10)

Overpriced and underdeveloped. No facilities, captains lounge consists of two chairs, a popcorn machine and a coffee pot in the mostly empty store. If you're at the transient dock the rest rooms are about a 1/4 mile walk. Located in the middle of nowhere and a VERY long walk from any restaurants, stores etc. Dock staff polite and helpful, management could care less.
