Fuel brand: Luk Fuel can reach most docks with extension hoses upon request. Loggerhead Hollywood imposes a $0.20 per gallon surcharge on fuel purchased from trucks.

The Marina does not have a fuel dock, but diesel, gas and race fuel can be trucked in for different minimum amounts. LukFuel (305-432-3487) has a 100 gallon minimum, but their hoses only reach half way down the piers. Admiral Oil (305-381-3835) has a higher minimum, but they have hoses that reach to the ends of the piers. Check the price of both sources, they have been known to match prices and negotiate.

Reviews for Suntex Marina at Hollywood
Outstanding Value, Great Location, 2017-07-30
Captain: , Galveston Texas (285)

Friendly, helpful staff and clean, upscale facilities convinced us to stay an extra two nights. The fairways and slips are relatively tight, however, a call to the office as you enter their channel will ensure a competent crew will greet you on the slip finger and secure in the slip safe and sound. We arrived on a Saturday and were treated to a free beer & wine happy hour complete with fruit and deli snacks. Hollywood Beach Boardwalk was a $9 Uber ride. Include in the slip fee was access to the co-located VERY upscale gated community's pool and fitness center. On our next trip through the Miami-Hoolywood area we will certainly return.

Make sure you have a cell phone aboard, 2017-03-20
Captain: , Green Cove Springs, FL (462)

Don't bother calling on VHF-16, they do not have a radio. Call them on the phone as you approach.

What kind of marina doesn't have a radio???

Good marina, great location, invoicing nightmare!, 2017-02-10
Captain: , pompano beach (10)

Great Marina, great location, (all good during the 4 week stay) however bad experience with post visit billing, difficult to get the final invoice, invoice correction lenghty and difficult and getting deposit back still no picnic

Management response:
Dear Dave Carrier,
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience at our marina. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced and know that we are reviewing these situations here at the corporate office.

There will always be areas to improve and we are constantly working towards giving you a better marina experience. Thank you again and if you need anything, please do not hesitate to write or call.

Average marina in a nice quiet location, 2016-12-13
Captain: , Pensacola, FL (513)

Concrete docks were ok, lots of parts missing on the power stations and many pylons were crooked and in an inconvenient spot. Facilities were average. Not bad for a one night stay, convenient to ICW but other than that there are many nicer marinas nearby.

Management response:
Dear Terraphobic,
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent experience at our marina. The pilings have since been repaired and we hope you will give us another chance in the future. Thank you again for your comments and we look forward to serving you again in the future.

Deep inside a gated community, 2016-05-06
Captain: , Plantation Yacht Harbor, Islamorada, Fla. Keys (4666)

5/16 update: we moved from 7 pier to T-head on 5 and have had a much improved experience. Still some wake action, but for the most part a very nice expereince. We have extended our stay for another month.
4/16 update: we are here for a month on 7 pier and expereince wakes from the ICW. The fairways are narrow and the slips are tight. Pump outs are handled exclusively by marina personnel who bring the hose with them. No sure if we'll extend our time here as originally planned.

By land you have to pass through 2 gates to get to the marina - about 1.4 miles on curving roads, so a trip on the bike to the nearest grocery [Super Wal-Mart] or to the beach is quite a journey. Even the club house - fitness center is a long hike - the dockmaster says that by the time you walk or bike to the fitness center, you've already done your exercise. That said it is right off the ICW [7' depth] and well protected. Fixed docks with pump-out at the slip [although the dockside connection is about a foot below the dock level and is an awkward connection.] And, it is pricey, especially compared with the Hollywood City Marina just up the ICW. Still a great place for a short or long term stay.

Excellent hidden in Hollywood, 2015-12-06
Captain: , Chicago, Racine, Fish Creek,Wi (3163)

In the end of January and for the month of February 2015 I stayed at this marina. Eric and his staff were a pleasure and would help out whenever asked. The Facility was secure and well kept up. Coffee and popcorn were in the lounge every morning. The people staying in the marina were friendly and interesting. A great place to stay and just enjoy. Only negative was slips are tight and short finger piers.

very nice facility and very comfortable, 2015-07-03
Captain: , Haarlem Netherlands AMEL 54 (402)

Wanted to stay only a few days but ended up staying nearly three weeks. Marina is part of a gated community and thus very safe and very sheltered. The 'clubhouse' with its excellent gym and pool is part of the community and can be used by the marina visitors. As most marinas one need some sort of transportation to get to shops and other attractions. Plenty of car rental companies nearby renting cars at a very reasonable price.
The monthly rate of this marina is very reasonable (better than the daily rate) and thus an excellent location to stay for a month of more and enjoy Florida. Will be back when it gets too cold North.

exceptional location and value, 2015-03-18
Captain: , loggerhead, hollywood FL (30)

Visited here several times, now staying for an extended time. excellent facilities, pool, fitness center, captains lounge. Excellent staff. Very calm and protected. very secure. Near beach, Gulfstream Race track, restaurants, Aventura Mall. Stayed at other Loggerhead locations. Like this one the best.
Now that it is a few years under our belts, we are leaving but with an excellent feeling about this Marina. Still giving superior rating.

Best kept secret in South Florida, 2014-10-28
Captain: , Dallas Tx (539)

Cruising all of Florida for 15 years and this is stillour favorite marina and location. Located within a gated community, off the ICW, it is secure and quite. Great staff, barbeques at each end of the marina, plus the club has a beautiful pool and workout facility.

Hollywood beach, just a bike ride away, is one of the best beaches in Florida, with a very wide two mile broadwalk. Hollywood has limited the number of highrises and kept many of the one andtwo story Mom-and-Pop hotels and motels of the 1950s and 60s. The beach is beautiful and well maintained.

Great marina and great location.

Nice Marina, 2014-08-27
Captain: , Peoria, IL (20)

After a month here, the facilities are nice. No or very few safety ladders to get out of the water if you fall in. Moderately expensive, but this close to Ft Lauderdale that is to be expected. Protected well from easterly winds coming in off the coast.

nice place, 2014-08-25
Captain: , hollywood, fl (41)

nice and secure. Been here almost a year off and on, and you can't beat the security, as its in a gated community. good mix of people living in the marina. Only drawbacks are that you need a car to get anywhere (they could really use, and make a killing, on a restaurant/bar), and on an older sailboat such as mine, it takes a good hour+ to get out to sea as there are 3 bridges to hail. the stretch from Sheirdan to Dania bridge is tough to make in 15 minutes if I'm going against currents. the folks are friendly and very helpful.

Very pleasant, 2014-05-11
Captain: , Boothbay Harbor, Maine (310)

The marina is very well protected and part of a large gated housing facility. Dockhand Chris was most hepful as were the rest of the staff. We left our boat here 5 days as part of the Loggerhead recriprocal arrangement which kept the cost way down. The only reason for not adding on one more star was the accessibility of the very nice pool and health club (almost a mile away) as well as provisioning. We had repairs accomplished while here by Marine Way and they were very timely and professional (recommended by dockmaster).

Loggerhead - Hollywood, 2014-04-20
Captain: , Perry, Kansas (317)

Excellent facility, Eric, the dockmaster was extremely helpful as was Chris, the dockhand. Docks are high, which was good for our aft cabin boat, but would be an issue for cockpit type vessels. Pumpouts at each slip were great with pump out done on request. There is some rolling action on the piers located closest to the intra-coastal. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is no easily accessible dining without a car. Overlal a pleasant 4 day stay

Captain: , St. Ignace, Michigan (236)

We've been here 4 months and had nothing but wonderful experiences with all the staff!, and having security and gate are quite a comfort. Other people here are great, so here is at least one vote for 5 stars! Yeah Eric, Michelle, Shirley, Drew & Chris!

Nice Stop for Repairs, 2013-12-29
Captain: , Lighthouse Point Fla. (114)

Were here for a night on the way to Keys but all of a sudden had dead batteries in one bank. Stayed another night while repairs were managed. Dock hand Chris was excellent for help and advice regarding who to get for repairs (service people from Marine Way are on the docks every day). Good docks, facilities but you are in a gated community. Need a bicycle or taxi to get anywhere. Long walk to the pool. Dinghy across ICW to the bar to dock and get to beach. Right on the Broadwalk so very nice location once you get there.

Lock up everything, 2013-11-29
Captain: , Cape Coral (120)

Had my Yeti cooler stolen and no one saw a thing. Cooler was latched down to deck. Someone had to shorten dock lines, board boat, unlatch cooler and jump off. Security, liveaboards and marina staff did not see anything. Also had my monthly slip fee increased by $3.50/ft with only 30 day notice.

Too much trouble, 2013-11-28
Captain: , Afton, MN (120)

Called at 3pm to switch from Aventura Loggerhead to Hollywood so we could refuel for our trip to the Virgin Islands. The woman who answered the the phone said it was too much trouble to do the paperwork for us to stay overnight. If we wanted to refuel only we would be charged $2.00 per foot. So much for a friendly reciprocal agreement.

Good Marina %u2013 Poor Slip Design, 2013-09-25
Captain: , Miami Beach (10)

In my opinion, the Marina is in good condition however the slips are tight and arranged in a fashion not favorable for frequent boating. I have seen boats bump anchor lines frequently when docking.

Response from Management, 2013-06-14
Captain: , Hollywood, FL (19)

Captain Bitster,
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience at the marina. We strive to provide excellence in customer service every day. Although, we are not perfect, our management and staff are continually working hard to make your stay truly enjoyable.

First Class Marina, 2012-07-24
Captain: , Sarnia (60)

Limped in here on one engine, Dockmaster Dave handled the situation with class and dignity.

Major overhaul on port engine by Gillen Diesel, recommended by Dave. Outstanding work!

Air conditioning problems handled by Jim, recommended by Dave, Outstanding work at a reasonable price.l

Boat detailing performed by Gold Coast Detailing. Outstanding work with many extras thrown in.

This is a premium marina, competitive with any marinas. Safe, secure and worth the stay.

Made for the Full time member, 2012-04-04
Captain: , Austin, Texas (1774)

This marina is very nice, but focused on the permanent member. They have very few transients, and when they do, you get the furthest out dock. The staff was nice, and they did all they could do to assist us, but they are there to support their members. The restroom/shower was spotless, and the docks are new concrete fixed docks. But their price is way too high for a transient.

well protected, good docks, 2011-12-05
Captain: , Stuart FL (835)

We have used this marina before as part of the Loggerhead club on our way to Marathon. Staff compentent and office folks very friendly and helpful. Since this is S. Flordia I guess the transient rate is average for this area. If I were not staying as part of the loggerhead club would look for anchorage. Nothing bad to say about marina and staff just more than I like to pay!!!

The whole Loggerhead clubs from Daytona to Hollywood has changed a great deal from last year. A very good change. Staff has been trained, management policies changed. Much more like a marina now than a condo rental. Hope they keep these changes.

Nice little marina, 2008-05-04

Close to Ft Lauderdale Airport at reasonable price, 2007-04-30
Captain: , Long Beach (983)

Reasonable rates for seasonal slips. Twenty minutes from Ft Lauderdale airport. Nice pool, workout room.
Friendly staff, very secure in gated community. 700 pier slips can get a bad wake bounce from the ICW.
