Reviews for Lighthouse Point Yacht and Racquet Club
Awesome marina close to Ft Lauderdale, 2017-06-26
Captain: , Ft. Lauderdale (50)

Stopped here for 6 days on way north. All the comments about Zach are right on. Great dockmaster, very accommodating, very knowledgeable and helpful. Yacht club restaurant very nice with great prime rib night. PaPa's raw bar for great sushi. Provisioning close by. Will stop in again for sure!

whats not to love, 2017-06-02
Captain: , Melbourne, Fl (50)

One of the best. Use of the club house, great food (prime rib was superb), strong wifi, friendly staff (harbormaster let us use his car to make a Publix run). Tennis courts for those who like to play. Well protected. Plenty of room.

Good, but funky., 2017-04-19
Captain: , Rock Hall, MD (225)

Stayed here on our way south 2017t rying to be near family in Boca Raton. The only place IN Boca is the Boca Resort, which we've stayed at and is wonderful, but expensive.
Lightlhouse Point is open to transients. It bills itself as a club. But, it's a marina with annual slip holders and a few open transient docks they let out for the added income, like most others. There is a large restaraunt on the property, and tennis courts, "old Florida" resort. Nice, but "old".

Our main criteria for any marina after good dockage, are bath and laundry facilities. Whether a transient weekender or a live-aboard, a clean bathroom is a must. If we are paying a premium, we expect a bathroom nicer than a highway rest area. Lighthouse Point does charge more than most. The baths are substandard. In the shower areas there are four small showers, each with curtains. The ally connecting these stalls is 3 feet wide, and the only place to put your shower bag and towell is on one white plastic Walmart chair at the end of the row. If two people shower at the same time one uses the floor. The AC is on sometimes, sometimes, not.
Zack, the marina manager, is a nice guy, very helpful. However, during our week at Lighthouse Point whenever we discussed anything more thn a hello he asked us to put a positive comment on Active Captain. It makes me wonder about other reviews.
Bottom line, nice enough place, bad bathrooms, over priced for the accomodations. Will not return.

Best Stop Yet Again, 2017-03-26
Captain: , Hampton NH (292)

I called and the docks were full but Zack went well out of his way to make a place for us anyway. So pleased that this private club is willing to take transients. The following notes are from March 2014 and still apply: We arrived on a hot early afternoon and we were pretty salty and sweaty. We had been down in the Keys on anchor and moorings for over two weeks so arrived in less than picture perfect condition. Also, our 31' Blue Seas downeast cruiser was the smallest boat in the club. No matter. Zack, the marina manager, made us fell right at home, helping us tie up and settle in and then took us in for a much needed lunch at the air conditioned club--even before showers. Later he even offered his car for a grocery run which we didn't need. The next day, when a front came through, he offered extra tie down lines and helped set up the boat again. Oh, and he also had earlier arranged for a Broward Oil truck for another boat and then set us up to piggyback and top off. Zack was gracious in every way and seemed to be on top of everything. I think sometimes five stars are awarded too easily but this place is truly worthy of the designation and I will be recommending Lighthouse Pt Y & R Club to others. Zack sets the example for marina managers. I can only wish every five star stop was as good!

Great Place, Great People, 2017-03-20
Captain: , Peterborough Ontario (20)

We were lucky to be able to stay here March 10th through 12th and had a great time. There is limited transient space but if you can get a spot it is well worth it. The resident boaters are very welcoming and make you feel at home. Zack the Marina Manager ensures that you have everything that you need. The Tiki bar is a great meeting place and the food is amazing. We will return the next time we are in the area.

Great Stay, 2017-03-18
Captain: , Greensboro, GA (50)

Stayed 2 nights here. Very protected with fixed docks in good condition. Associated club had great pool, laundry, baths. Food at club was excellent....pasta night Wednesday and prime rib Thursday. Thanks to dockmaster Zack for his help and the use of his car to go to Publix. Would stay again. Be sure to call ahead....

Great! transient spot on windy night, 3/14/17, 2017-03-15
Captain: , Pocasset, ma (13)

Almost hate to give a great review for fear there might not be a transient dockage for us next time! Everything here is great, from Zack to locals to premises to soooo dog friendly.

Great Stop, 2017-03-03
Captain: , Buffalo ny (230)

Very nice club with great people. Zack, the yacht basin manager handled everything very professionally. The members we met were very friendly and many stopped to chat while passing by on the docks. Great club restaurant with meal specials as well as a very attractive menu. Outdoor tiki bar by the pool on weekends. .50 cent laundry and large .25 cent/10 min. dryers. Air conditioned restrooms and showers on the dock, pumpout at the slips, Zack offered us the use of his car and made sure we had eveything we needed, including his number to call should we have any questions or issues after hours. Top shelf.

Smooth Operation!, 2017-01-09
Captain: , Rockport, TX USA (50)

These guys know what their doing. Marina Mgr. and staff are seasoned pros. They go out of the way to be helpful and make your stay enjoyable. Easy in-n-out off ICW. Great facilities, friendly members & residents. Pool & Tiki Bar are more of a daytime activity. This is a quiet, out of the way place that can also be very convenient too. Call ahead!

OUTSTANDING!, 2016-12-02
Captain: , Venice (208)

As in my previous review, 'Outstanding' is still the best way to descrbe the the service, staff, location and friendly members at Lighthouse Point Y&RC. It is very convient to the ICW and is well protected. Zack has a terrific operation here.
We stayed here two nights this trip and ate at the clubhouse resaurant and had wonderful meals and service from Sandy.
Be sure to call ahead. I'll certainly stop here again.

Top notch service, great people., 2016-11-30
Captain: , Seabrook, NH (172)

Even though this is a private club, the people are so friendly! People were eager to stop and talk to us, and ask us where were were headed, how our solar panels were working out for us, etc... just talk boats! It was a nice, down-to-Earth place.

Zach the Dockmaster is terrific. He actually offered us his personal car to make a Publix run, if we needed it. Can't beat that kind of customer service.

The restaurant was one of only 26 in the entire state of Florida last year to earn perfect scores in health and safety. And, they're busy! If you're there just about any night except for Tuesdays, the restaurant will have their daily specials rolling!

Laundry, clean restrooms and showers, and a Tiki Bar poolside! It is really a nice place.

We can't wait to return. Thanks Zach!

Captain: , Indian river marina (30)

This is a gem of a stop. Zack made it all happen, including lending us his car to go grocery shopping. We had a wonderful slip. Everyone is very friendly. Great location just off the ICW. Quiet and peaceful location. We will be back!

Don't miss this gem!, 2016-06-10
Captain: , Venice, Fl. (949)

What a place! LHPYRC is great. It is private but we were treated as members. From initial contact with Zack Rice, the marina manager, we were always impressed. The entire staff makes you feel like you are part of the family. The docks are fixed but in great shape with deep water and large fairways. The facilities include very clean restrooms, an olympic size pool, workout room, tennis courts and a wonderful restaurant. Call ahead as they fill up during the winter but had plenty of space when we were here the 1st week of June.

Wonderful Marina, 2016-05-16
Captain: , Daytona Beach Florida (20)

Good location that is right off the ICW in Lighthouse Point, Florida. Transit boaters are welcome at the marina as well as the restaurant. Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner - check current schedule for day & hours of operation. Zack Rice, their Marina and Harbor Manager, is very friendly and can accommodate most requests. Lovely pool area, super wi-fi connection and very calm inside the marina basin.

Fun loved it, 2016-05-08
Captain: , Sarasota (205)

Pool and Tiki Bar, friendly locals.
Dockmaster was very helpful. Even offered a car if I needed to go to grocery store

Not to be missed, 2016-03-22
Captain: , Sterling, VA (50)

If you are lucky enough to find a slip available, LPYRC is among the best stops we have enjoyed coming south from Annapolis this season. Cruise ship quality service from everyone. Zack the Marina Mgr makes it happen. We got groceries, strong and fast pump out, and wonderful food at restaurant. Although a private club, everyone was beyond friendly, extending a welcome and were genuinely glad to talk. Fixed docks, well protected wide fairway, clean restrooms, pool and weekend Tiki bar. Worth a stop to remember how nice life can be in a brilliantly run marina!

Great Pit Stop, 2016-03-16
Captain: , Savannah, Ga (20)

We were welcomed by the Harbor Master at Lighthouse Point after hours when our planned marina filled. Very professional and polite with good facilities and great food at the yacht club. Will try to stop here again.

We will make this a regular stop, 2016-03-12
Captain: , St. Thomas (90)

Zack, the harbormaster, is over the top helpful. The marina is clean and well kept. There are two restaurants to choose from and the food is very good and fairly priced. We enjoyed spending the afternoon in the Olympic size pool. Zack will contact the local fuel truck if needed while visiting here. Deep water access and easy approach. We will definitely return! One of our favorite marinas.

Great facility, very friendly staff and fellow boaters, 2016-03-09
Captain: , Grand Rivers, Ky (2206)

Stayed 2 nights 3-4-16 Zack, the harbormaster was very helpfull and offered his car if we needed anything from town. We did not take him up on his offer, but he assured us that anything we needed to contact him. The restaurant is very nice, the food was excellent with reasonable prices. They also have a Tiki Hut bar with happy hour. There is a $20/ day electric charge that I was not expecting. The transient fee is $2 ft, no discount for eating at the restaurant. Overall a very nice stop in a protected marina.

Worth a visit, 2016-03-02
Captain: , Egg Harbor, NJ (110)

Recently visited early Feb and Zack the DM met us at the dock for tie up and rolled out the welcome mat. At that time, though all amenities were not available to transients, we did receive a per foot discount when dining at their excellent clubhouse. Very nice and well maintained facility with good depth at entry and at the dock for our 5' plus draft.

Treated us like family, 2016-02-25
Captain: , New Bern, NC (140)

Had a great two days here. They accomdated us on the bulkhead right in front of the restaurant...The food was top shelf and everything was well kept up and clean. One of the best pumpouts (at your slip !!!) we've had in a year...We will be staying again on our north bound trip...Zac, the harbormaster, bent over backwards to see that we enjoyed his marina...2/25/16...Just made reservations for the retun trip...The $1.50 rate has been rescinded ...Still a five star location...

Wonderful Stop Along ICW, 2016-02-12
Captain: , Lavallette, NJ (251)

If you are very lucky to find a slip holder away while transiting this area, you will find this a wonderful private marina/club. Very easy access from the ICW. Deep water slips with excellent wind and wake protection on fixed docks.Very helpful and knowledgeable dock master. Perhaps best of all, a sensational restaurant (gents need trousers and collar shirt). Top quality, impeccable service and great chef - not to be missed!!

They will make it work...., 2016-02-03
Captain: , Shelburne, VT (120)

Once again Zach ***** got us a spot in this full marina on Christmas eve. We have enjoyed staying at this facility and found the residents in the other boats very friendly. No fuel and the showers and restrooms were clean and air conditioned. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice with happy hour at poolside.
The Christmas dinner at the club was pricy but amazing. We hope to enjoy a stay on our return north this spring.

Very pleased that they had space for us, 2016-01-16
Captain: , Point Edward (459)

First rate facility. They excel at everything at this marina .... harbourmaster, staff, restaurant, bar, pool, transportation, friendly boaters. It deserves more than 5 stars if that was possible. We stayed 3 nights and only planned on one. Would go back any time.

Christmas to Remember, 2016-01-05
Captain: , Who Knew Green Cove Springs (40)

We had the privilage of spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at LHPYRC. Zack was extremely helpful and the members were extremely welcoming. We had the opportunity to use the club for dinner on Christmas Day...awesome buffet!!
We enjoyed the use of the pool and it was less than a mile to walk to Christmas Mass. We look forward to another visit.

Community!, 2015-12-15
Captain: , MV Red Head (3106)

This facility is first rate in every respect - beautiful docks, a lovely clubhouse (make sure to have lunch or dinner there), plenty of places to walk the dogs, and a great staff. But where it really stands out is the welcoming community of liveaboard boaters. We were greeted warmly by several who made sure we were aware of the weekly Grill n Chill happening that night, as well as others upcoming events which we unfortunately wouldn't be there for. The marina has provided a lovely deck area where the boaters can congregate. There are chairs and tables and a grill. We were only there two nights but they made us feel like family. If you need to make a run to the grocery or hardware store just check with Zack who will set you up with a ride. This is a perfect transient stop for a night or a week or longer. We look forward to returning.

Most hospitable of marinas!, 2015-12-09
Captain: , Muscongus, Maine (444)

Though this is a private club with 100% occupancy, the slipholders are frequently traveling. Zack the dockmaster knows exactly what he has available for transients, and he does his best to accommodate them. Once at the dock, Zack and his assistant Field cannot be more helpful. They help with the lines, offer locall knowledge, and Zack even let us borrow his car twice to make local shopping trips. The club has a very nice restaurant that we have access to (and get a reduced slip price if you use), and there's a nice pool and decent bathrooms. Zack is so conscientious that when he wasn going to be making a delivery late one morning, he made a point to let us know. We'll definitely be back, especially to take advantage of the much cheaper fuel delivery on Mondays.

Above and beyond accommodating!, 2015-10-23
Captain: , Lighthouse Point (10)

Service is ten stars if I could! Zack is the epitome of what a dock master should be, and then some! The offer of a car to provision the boat, bending over backwards to find dockage in rough weather (be it his or other marinas), run for parts if necessary, knowlegable and helpful, quality references for vendors. We were so impressed that we became members of the yacht club, and the rest of the staff was just as impressive. Linda, Ellie, Jason, thank you for being so welcoming. Food and drinks are first rate! Oh, and the live-a-boards%u2026%u2026.the best! BBQ%u2019s on Monday nights are a hoot! Love our new home away from home!!

Fantastic Find on the ICW, 2015-09-18
Captain: , Jacksonville Beach FL (20)

I have to thank ActiveCaptain & rellow reviewers for suggesting a stay at this marina. From my first contact with Zach who answered when I called to see if they had availability for a day or two. He said he did and that although he would not be there for my arrival he assured me that Field would take great care of me. And that he did. I came thru the Hillsborough Inlet after a storm so was pleased when Field perfect instructions to my slip and since I run my boat alone so he was a great help docking. Everything about this marina is friendly and welcoming. You have access to all of the club's amenities, an excellent restaurant and outside tiki bar by the pool and laundry. I was offered a ride to a grocery if I needed. I also appreciated the excellent wifi. The dock neighbors and liveaboards were fantastic and even invited me to a weekly dock dinner they have. I've been traveling the ICW for the last five months and Lighthouse Point was definitley a treat. If I had not had plans at my next stop I would have stayed even longer. I definitely will be back!!

Best place to stay on the East Coast!, 2015-09-07
Captain: , Belle Harbor Marina, Tarpon Springs, FL (10)

This is the second year we have docked at this marina as transients. Zack, the Dockmaster, is the best. He provides many different ideas on what/where to go and is more than willing to be available to help you. Last year we came in August and the restaurant was closed - We followed Zach's recommendation and came when it was open this year. First class service, great prices, our meal was 5 star! There is a gym, spa, olympic sized swimming pool - it is really nice. When Zach was off, Field stepped up and did another fine job - they made our vacation a total delight! The location is beautiful, you have to stop by and say hi - stay a while.

Very friendly Yacht Club, 2015-04-24
Captain: , Las Cruces,, NM (190)

We stopped in for two nights, ended up staying for three. This is a top notch organization that provides first rate services to it's members a visitors alike. Although we were just transients we were treated wonderfully. Zack, the dockmaster was very very helpful even loaned us a car to go to Publix which was a life saver. We also ate at the Yacht Club resturant one night, the food, ambience and service were also first rate. Prices where very resonable. We highly recomend you stop by this marina if you get a chance, its well worth it.

Captain: , Vero Beach, FL (30)

We stayed here 4/7 and 8/15, had a wonderful time here! Zack, the Dockmaster, was extremely helpful and made our short stay great. A well protected marina on a basin right off the ICW, with a Junior Olympic size pool which we had almost to ourselves both late afternoons made it perfect. We took advantage of the $1.50 rate if you eat dinner at their club restaurant and food was excellent; we went on the $18.50 Wednesday pasta night but ended up ordering from the menu because it sounded so good! Wish we could have stayed for the Thursday Prime rib night! Very dog friendly. Surrounding area is quiet, residential, we biked a couple of miles to West Marine/Publix for the exercise, after Zack offered to drive us there. Would definitely return.

Great stop, 5 stars. Will stop again for sure......
On our way to Port Everglades saw this on active captain and called late at 6:00pm. Zach the dock master picked up while off duty and was great, very friendly people in Yacht Club also, giving us an empty slip and meeting us the next morning. Zack made the offer of $1.50/ft if we ate dinner at the yacht club. It was Pasta Night with custom pasta station, salad bar and ice cream statio, fantastic and all for $18.50. Not much around the marina since in the middle of homes but if they have room I will be stopping here just to visit. Pool and tennis also.

Only stayed 1 night ,but great spot ,Field was the man we dealt with on phone ,upon arrival and during departure.... he went out of his way for us ,put us at the end of the T dock and was great .
After speaking on phone as i made my way to marina my radio call was intercepted by someone at another marina ,at which time i was givin directions that didnt jibe with my garmin , after turning back and a brief conversation with a man with a bad attitude from a marina that was not the one i was hailing but as i would later find out they grab quite a few other peoples calls as well .... as i was following the directions debating if i was gonna stay Field called on phone after speaking to him he told me this happens often ,as i would find later speaking to two other visitors who had same problem ,one actually was on radio same time as me ... best approach may be cell phone .... lol ... field provided us great service... and liveaboards where very friendly ,especially the dr from the bronx , wish i remembered his name ,and his 2 poodles
And the location was beautiful

great location...only 1 mile to the hillsboro inlet. service is great in the resturant club. Chef Rudy does an outstanding job. Caught a sword fish and he cooked it up for us. WOW. The docks are great as well as the Dock Master Zack Rice. He has a can-do attitude and always seems to make things happen. Zack has recomened mechanics, boat washers, hull cleaners...all top notch and well vetted. good wifi. clean locker rooms and great exercise equipement as well. Because or Zack and the friendliness of the entire staff we have decided to call this home. We are liveaboards and love this community. We have 2 dogs and very dog friendly.

One of the finest yacht clubs and marina on the east coast. Marina management is superior. The club offers first class dining and social atmosphere.

Well-deserved #1, 2015-01-13
Captain: , Hobe Sound, Florida (480)

We spent the first two nights of an 18 day holiday cruise around the "South Florida Circle Loop" from Stuart to Key West and back at this wonderful club. Dinner on the Friday night before Christmas included carolers in Dickensian costume, with all the club members dressed in red. We were welcomed strangers. But beyond a very very nice faciliity, the real reason to seek a transient slip here is their dockmaster, Zack Rice, who believes in and epitomizes the notion of customer service. Exceptional!

Roberto and Maria
48' Kadey Krogen, Gratitude

As we made our way to Ft. Lauderdale yesterday (1/2/2015) down the ICW, our bow thruster stopped working. We called marinas along the way looking for a T head or bulk head to tie up for the night and get the issues resolved. Being a Holiday weekend all marinas were booked. I called Lighthouse Point Yacht Club and Zach, the marina manager could not have been more helpful and nice. He secured an easy docking situation for us, waited for us to get there and helped us tie up safely. The Club is fantastic. Great tiki bar, tennis courts, clean facilities, wonderful restaurant with a great menu (many vegan choices). Just fantastic. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming.
I can't say enough about Zach's professionalism, friendliness and welcoming smile.
We will definitely go back and stay a while.
Thank you Zach.

Nice Spot, Great people, 2014-12-30
Captain: , New Baltimore, New York (100)

As the owner of Shady Harbor marina it was refreshing to find a place that cares for it's customers as much as this place does. Zack, the marina manager was already gone for the day but worked with me to get into a slip. He went way overboard with his efforts. We even diagnosed a tripped breaker together on the power pedastal. His staff the next day was equally terrific. I would be proud to have them at Shady harbor. Jason the bar tender was great as well, he is familiar with Upstate NY as he worked at the marinas up on the hudson. All in all a great spot, i did not interact with the membership but the place seemed great.

Hidden Gem, 2014-12-09
Captain: , Wilmington NC (151)

Lighthouse Point Yacht and Racquet Club (LPYRC) is a hidden treasure along the ICW that we were delighted to find. Zack the Dockmaster took excellent care of us and was able to accommodate our Lagoon 380 catamaran (22 ft beam). He gave us easy to follow directions to the marina down the 2nd canal south of Marker 68 where we tied up to the face dock for the night. The marina docks are in great shape and the grounds are meticulous. The pool was inviting and the gyms were well equipped. Zack%u2019s suggestion of visiting the Yacht Club Tiki Bar was spot on. The %u201Cbar mistress%u201D, Mary took good care of us ensuring our drinks were filled, the wings were hot & spicy and the tuna sushi was fabulous. Everyone we met was very nice and always offered any help. We would highly recommend stopping by and enjoying a piece of hidden paradise. We know we will be back. Thank you Zack and the entire Staff!

Great marina (clean power, nice docks, pumpout at every dock, fuel by truck), great location (right between the inlets - quiet, upscale), great restaurant (Chef Rudy's food is THE best), great tiki bar ("The Yacht Spot"), great fellow liveaboards, and absolutely great staff - Zach, Field, Jason, the other Jason, Keenan, Mary, Cindy, Sari,et al. All doing their absolute best to make your time at LHPYRC as memorable, relaxing, and enjoyable as possible. Yeah, I really like living here...

We have been stopping at Lighthouse for many years on our way to and from the Bahamas. It is the most convenient stop for us betrween Miami and Stuart Zach has always been able to find us a spot even on fairly short notiice. The marina is in excellent shape and the members are lucky to have someone of his ability managing their marina.

Captain: , Miami, FL (10)

Lighthouse Point Yacht and Racquet Club is one of those rare and memorable finds that takes a marina experience and elevates it to the next level.  Dock master Zack Rice and his friendly, knowledgeable  team including his capable assistant Field Carmichael, make the experience of fitting out Docs Aweigh, our Grand Harbour pilothouse motor yacht, truly a pleasure. Not just being there to assist docking, Zack and his crew are there at every turn, providing specific advice on purchasing equipment and services from multiple vendors. With vast marine experience, Zack offers up his wealth of knowledge.  Each and every experience, from dining at the club on Mother's Day where a bountiful and sumptuous brunch is served, to all the personnel who offer courteous, respectful service, all contribute to a very special stay.LPYRC is a winner.  This not too big marina, just off the Intracoastal Waterway is quiet and sheltered without the constant traffic and wakes of the ICW.  The fellow yachtsman are friendly and helpful. Thanks, Zack, for making our experience extraordinary. The LPYRC is a little gem to be highly recommended.

A Great Place to Spend a few Days, 2014-04-09
Captain: , St. Clair, Michigan (456)

The marina is set back off the ICW and is not bothered by the traffic. The facilities are well maintained and Zack the Dockmaster is the best. We had a incident with our Golden Retriever that Zack helped in finding us a local vet we could count on. Zack also drove us to the vet in the club van. He was most helpful as was all the staff.
The club restaurant was very good for dinner and the Sunday Brunch was excellant. Everything exceeded what we remembered from a year ago.
Call in advance tumake sure they have room for you.
This marina is well worth a stop on your itinerary.

Wonderful marina with a restaurant perk. By eating a meal in the yacht club restaurant marina dockage reduced to $1.50/ft and Sunday brunch a must experience is a gastro-orgasmic food orgy! Pool, tennis courts, laundry, clean bath/shower and walking distance to Publix/CVS made for an enjoyable retreat.

I wish there was a 6th star!
If you are considering a marina in S. Florida you have to visit this place. The people are super freindly and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Zack and Field are just great! We spent a weekend, had fun and enjoyed great food. When we run into engine trouble Zack and Field shined. They helped us located a mechanic and got us going in no time. Thank you guys! Will see you soon.

Excellent (fixed) dock, facilities, pool, service, restaurant, and superb value. Zack could not be more helpful and accommodating. In every way. On short notice he arranged quality diesel delivery at the dock from Gary at Broward Oil Company. I also confirm the content of the reviews below.

AWESOME-Highly recommended!, 2014-02-08

Nothing better than escaping some northern winters at LPY&RC. Everything you need and much more. By far the best marina and club around. Zack and the entire staff are all about service and it shows!

Professional, personal... Perfection!, 2014-01-16

My wife and I just returnned from a three week cruise from Vero Beach to Greater Miami and back. January 8th broke rainy & dismal in Coconut Grove, so we decided to brew a pot of coffee, button up, and cover some required miles heading North. As we had no reservations, Margaret scanned Active Captain on the iPad and found this highly recommended destination.
In brief, Lightjouse Point Y & RC was one of the beast Marina stops we've ever had. Dockmaster Zack Rice met us in a howling squall and affably (and quickly) had us situated. Before we could finish hooking up the water, Zack returned with the Yacht Club restaurant's menu, and explained the great reastaurant/marina discount. We made an 8:00pm reservation, and were treated to an absolutely memorable meal, at a very reasonable price.
When we had arrived earlier in the day, we had vaguely mentioned that we might need a to make a grocery store run on our bikes. The next morning Zack stopped by, with a basket of warm muffins, and the keys to his car...
LPY&RC is a jewel. It starts with Zack Rice, and radiates everywhere. If you are cruising anywhwere in the vicinity, you should make LPY&RC a destination!

Will return, 2014-01-15

Although the clubhouse was closed the day we stopped there, we enjoyed the beautiful grounds and clean boater facilities. The docks are in great shape and it was very easy to get into. The dockmaster, Zach, could not have been more accommodating . We will stop here again and spend more time enjoying the amenities.

A Marina with a Heart ******, 2013-06-22
Captain: , Stuart Florida (280)

It was Feburary and we needed a place where we could be close to Mom who had just received a devastating diagnosis. We didn't know how long we would need to stay and every marina we contacted wanted a definite time commitment, then we met Zack the dockmaster at Lighthouse Point Yacht and Racquet Club. We were pleasantly suprised and relieved when, after explaining our particular situation, he immediately took steps to accomodate us. He told us not to worry about length of stay and that room would be made for us. Any concerns we may have had were immediately put to rest as the entire club staff made us feel welcomed and could not do enough for us. We stayed for three months and though we didn't have time to use the extensive club facilities we noted how hands on the day to day operations were handled by Zack. The facilities are beyond first rate and Zack can arrange for any needs you or your vessel may require. We were able to dine at the club restarurant a few times and the food and experience were phenomenal. Do not miss the Sunday brunch! We can offer the opinion that you will not find a more professional facility where you are made to feel like part of a family. So, if you are traveling north or south, do yourself a favor and stop here for a truly unique marina experience. We will definitely return.

Stayed there April 3&4 2013. Outstanding - great docks; very friendly helpful dockmaster; well equipped & very clean showers; first class dining facility. All very good value for that part of FL. One of very best marinas have ever visited in over 5 years on boat.

What a gem !!!, 2013-04-22
Captain: , annapolis (10)

Finally found a first class marina, with folks that go that extra mile.....and it's very affordable. The marina manager Zack Taylor has the can-do attitude and makes it a very special place to stay, be it a night or long term. The YC food and services are first rate, as my Brit friend stated, a "proper YC." don't miss it !! capt EC Tanzer

Amazing food and service, 2013-04-20
Captain: , Lighthouse Point, FL (79)

We just got married and had our wedding reception here. Service, food, staff are absolutely the best. Our guests are still raving about it. The chef and his staff are as good as you will find.
Easy to give them five stars. I'd add another one if I could.

All I can say is "Wow!", 2013-04-19
Captain: , Port Charlotte, FL (694)

This is the best stop we have made since leaving MD in mid March. We stayed two nights April 16/17th. The marina manager is a chanp - helped us with our lines, got us settled in with local knowledge on provisions, maitenance assistance, helped us with transportation, had a "local knowledge" sheet on the Hillsboro Inlet right there when I asked about it...There was not one thing we needed or wanted that he didn't provide. AND - this is a very nice facility, more or less a privately owned yacht club, and everyone, especially Zack the manager, made us feel like we were members, not transients. If we didn't have a schedule to worry about, we would have stayed longer. Oh, and the restaurant? It's worth it to go just for that. The food and service were top notch.

An Oasis and a Gem, 2013-03-31
Captain: , Terra Ceia, FL (91)

There's no point repeating the excellent descriptions from the prior reviews - this is without question a 5 star facility. Its location, a quarter mile off the ICW, provides excellent protection and no wakes.
Here's why this is such a good place: Zack Rice, the dockmaster, refused to take a tip, even though I pressed him hard. He said: I'm trying to do something different here....I don't want our guests to feel that we have our hands out..." THAT'S GOOD MANAGEMENT, and sets the tone for the entire place. We called late for a reservation for a 61' boat, and they worked hard to fit us in. AND, the rates are extremely reasonable, considering the area. Finally we had one of the best restaurant meals of the last three months!!

Great Marina, 2013-03-30
Captain: , Cavalier Golf and Yacht Club, Virginia Beach, Virginia (398)

LPYRC is a compact marina just off the ICW. The docks are well maintained, the Clubhouse very nice. LPYRC is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, yet 1 block from the ICW. Food is extremely good, all staff very friendly, lots of parking, excellent & numerous tennis courts. Shopping including boat stores are nearby. Dock master Zach Rice cannot do enough for you! Fuel is trucked in at a very deep discount!

Comfy and pleasant as home, 2013-03-25
Captain: , Ft Lauderdale FL (271)

Zack is a great host that will do everything to make you both welcome and at home. The rest of the crew at the club are equally friendly. Nice facility, easy to get to, yet quiet and secluded from ICW traffic and current. Definitely a repeat.

First Class Facilities and Service, 2013-03-17

Impeccably maintained marina facilities that are spacious and private, extraordinarily helpful staff, and great amenities. Would recommend to anyone.

Great stop!, 2013-03-15
Captain: , Sebastian FL (152)

We were certain that they did not take transients, but a call to Dockmaster Zack set us straight - No Problem! Rate was competitive and the facilities are super. Walked to Publix (although Zack offered his car). We felt like Yacht Club members for a day. Give it a try!

Transient Dockage, 2013-03-06
Captain: , Marathon, fl (10)

Wonderful service and reception. Stayed 1 night, needed an electrician the next morning and Zack (manager) had one on board by 9:30. They seem to want transients.

Great Marina just off ICW, 2013-02-09
Captain: , Bonners Ferrry, ID (10)

New docks, friendly staff and great restaurant. 1 1/2 mile walk to Publix, Ace Hardware. Boat Owners Warehouse 1/2 mile farther. Only 15 minutes and one bridge from the inlet. Great marina to wait for a weather crossing window.

1st class stop, impeccably maintained, 2013-02-01
Captain: , Alexandria Bay, NY (63)

From the time we entered the harbor, Harbor Master Zack couldn't do enough to make our stay memorable, including offers to assist in anyway to obtain any needed supplies. The marina has fixed docks, in excellant condition, and is designed for larger boats, and it's full, but Zack had no problem finding space for us. The facilities are first class, including the restaurant which provided great service and delicious meal in true yacht club style. In need of a great stop in the Pompano area? look no further. We'll be returning on our way north.

Captain: , Key West, FL (758)

We stayed here with a reduced rate due to reciprocity with our own club. Beautifully maintained grounds and building, nice olympic sized heated pool, nice gym, 10 tennis courts, racketball, etc. Short bike ride to nice shopping and restaurants. Great staff and nice permanent slip owners.
