Reviews for Lighthouse Marina
Hope Town is Beautiful, 2017-05-27
Captain: , Cape Canaveral, FL (280)

The Lighthouse marina store is well stocked. The $1 per foot is offset by the $30 per day electric for 50 amps, but well worth it. All business is done on the dock, not the marina store, even get laundry tokens there. Make sure your dingy is accessible; we took it off the swim plarform and tied it to the bow when backing in. The main part of town is across the water. Watch for the shallows just South of the fuel dock. Don't miss a lighthouse visit. There are white roofed public docks for dingys.

Friendly Staff, 2017-04-04
Captain: , Hilton Head, SC (1234)

One of the few places where you can reserve a spot ahead of time, plus with our dog, being able to walk to shore w/o a wet dingly ride during a blow was important. The Dockmaster Paul and the rest of the staff here were very friendly and helpful. The shower / bathrooms are dated, but kept very clean. The marina store has a surprising inventory of goods / fishing gear. The water quality TDS here tested at 120PPM, better than our last fill up in Florida before coming over! We draw six feet and with the neap tides, we were resting on the bottom in the first well, which wasn't a problem for us. There seems to be a shoal developing directly south of the gas dock as we saw 4-5 boats go aground coming in or getting off the dock. Would definitely come back here.

Fixed dock, no frills, very clean, 2016-05-06
Captain: , warm waters (828)

Date of stay: 3/20 to 3/26/16
Technically, there are six slips along one short dock. Only one could handle our 48' M/V. The two slips next to us were used for dinghies. We were on the inside of the fuel dock. Marina is right at the mouth of the harbor; we felt all the wakes of boats coming and going. Fixed docks (no dock pads) made for acrobatic boarding depending on the tide levels. Plus side: Dockmaster Paul was ever-present and ever-helpful. Laundry and shower facilities were immaculate at all times. Short walk to lighthouse and neighboring marina.

Nice Ships Store and Laundry and Fuel dock Attendant, 2016-01-27
Captain: , annapolis (453)

Update. Between Dec 10, 2015 and Jan 10, 2016 I visited the fuel dock weekly for gasoline and water. The fuel dock attendant, Paul, was terrific. My purchases were between $5 & $10 dollars
each visit. Regardless Paul treated me as if I purchased 200 gallons. Also, Lighthouse Marina has VERY GOOD RO water for .38/gal. Always a pleasure to visit Lighthouse Marina.

Ships store carries a nice variety of boat maintenance items and fishing gear.

Washer/dryer - 4 each, $5 wash, $5 dry. Large capacity, all working.

Lighthouse visit and laundry, 2014-05-01
Captain: , New Bern, NC (730)

We called for laundry information and decided to try the laundry. It was $5.00 a load, but when you need to do laundry you gotta do it. Anyway it was clean and we got there early and got it done. While laundry was going we took the advantage of visiting the lighthouse. Make sure to put this on your to do list. Great views and an easy climb.

Dock there to visit the Light house, 2014-03-02
Captain: , Palm Beach, FL (341)

we hailed the marina several times on 16 but got no answer. Found an empty slip and tied up. Locked the boat and went up with the family to the Lighthouse. Views not to be missed. One of two gas lighthouses still operating.

Sign the guest book on your way out.

Nice quiet marina, 2013-05-20
Captain: , East Greenwich, RI (660)

The dock master, Paul is a very nice accomodating guy. This is a very nice spot under the light house. Bathrooms could use a little work but were not bad. The ladies in the office were very accomidating in telling us about the attractions on the island. This is a beautiful quiet harbor, a must see on your cruise.

Fine Facility (26 32.409'N 076 57.643W), 2012-07-23
Captain: , Kemah, TX (622)

We spent 5 nights in the first slip by the fuel docks. My wife is sensitive to the smell of diesel. the dockmaster went out of his way to make sure the pump housings were in place to prevent excess odor from escaping. Fuel was clean and reasonable. The provided dinghy transportation into town at no charge. We found them courteous and knowledgeable.

good fuel and machine shop, 2012-07-08
Captain: , ft myers beach (790)

We stopped for fuel and while fueling my son asked if they had a vise he could use to straighten out a shackle. The fuel attendant told him to go up the walk. A guy there who we later met as well looked like he was Quint from Jaws. Even spoke and dressed like hime. He use a hydraulic press to straighten the part and would not accept a tip or a beer. they had no dock space so we went next door after fueling. nice folks.

Good Diesel Fuel, 2012-04-28
Captain: , Mayo, MD (424)

Filtered the fuel to discover it was good, without water or other impurities.

Nice location, small friendly dock, 2012-04-26
Captain: , Marthas Vineyard (506)

This marina is very close to the wonderful Elbow Reef Lighthouse; you can make arrangements with the lighthouse keeper to watch him turn on the light at dusk, this light, with a Fresnel lens, is still light with a kerosene lamp and the lens is hand cranked every two hours, a series of weights and gears keeps it turning, its a wonderful experience. The dock is busy with fuel, fishermen, dingy landings until dinnertime, we found it fun to be around, very quiet in the evening. There is a gift shop and liquor store at the end of the dock, one bath each for ladies & gents.

Friendly place; however a lot of small boat wakes, 2012-03-15
Captain: , Lewis Creek, Md (1304)

The Marina has free internet, good shopping for liquor, laundry on site. $1 a foot, 20 cents waterR/o. The light house is right there. but you are at the entrance to the harbor and boats are slow to go to no wake, and the wash from the ferry boat can be a problem

Good spot at great price, 2010-03-12
Captain: , Block Island (1679)

at $1/ft per night, it was cheapest docks I've seen in bahamas. Not many slips there, but very friendly staff. Fixed wood docks are in fair condition, with reliable power and good water. Paul the dockmaster is very cruiser friendly. Liquor store on premises, but dinghy required to get over to Hopetown, about 100 yards away. Well protected from all weather.
