Can be tricky for large boats or keel boats. Don't cut the corner near the Eastern breakwall it can be very shallow. About a 1/4 mile from the harbor inlet parallel to the shoreline. Deep draft boats should stay in the middle of the harbor entrance and bear to port after clearing the entrance. There are sand bars to the East and West of the entrance and to starboard once inside the harbor; the depth at the entrance is about 7'.

Reviews for Lexington State Harbor
Nice Marina, Close to Town, 2017-08-02
Captain: , Sacramento, CA (356)

Excellent Harbor Master and numerous staff all willing to assist with every need. Park and beach a part of the facility. Town is up 1 block and has a "good feeling".

Friendly Marina and Town, 2017-07-15
Captain: , Corpus Christi (356)

The staff was very helpful and the marina was well maintained.
Showers were clean with 4 stalls. No laundry.
Cute tourist town with lots of restaurants and shops.
Free concert at the park on weekends.
We would stay there again.

Ok facilities but ...., 2016-07-29
Captain: , Ashland, wi (200)

Great for motorboaters. Has everything you need. Kind of a party spot They need to work on noise control. All the boats that buzzed by us as we climbed up of the river past Port Huron were there for the weekend. Guess they need some place to go so it might as well be Lexington.

Staff are geat, very helpful.

Nice town to stop at, 2015-09-24
Captain: , Catawba Island Ohio (530)

Dock attendant very friendly. Mainly fixed docks. They had some newer floaters for smaller boats. Restrooms and shower houses nice and clean. Very nice parkland, playground, beach area next to marina. Nice town to walk around in for a few hours and plenty of restaurants to chose from. They do have a bike path that goes to a town about 4 or 5 miles to the west.

Nice and quiet., 2015-08-31
Captain: , Mitchells Bay (60)

Nice marina to stop over. Great places to eat and shop just up the hill.
Would always recommend stopping in on the way through.

Nice protected harbor, 2015-07-05
Captain: , St. Clair Shores (40)

We have been into this harbor many times throughout the years. The town of Lexington continues to welcome boaters with nice places to eat and shop.

Great spot!, 2014-08-10
Captain: , Lakeview Park Marina Windsor ON (366)

We stopped here for two days in early August and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The marina is very well run and spotless. One curious thing though, there are no garbage cans on the docks. Garbage has to be taken to a bank of dumpsters located at the extreme southwest of the marina property, a bit inconvenient. We'd go back again and will next year!

Great Place, 2014-07-14
Captain: , Belle Maer Harbor (50)

I visited this past weekend. Very nice marina, helpful staff, docks were nice, decent bathroom facilities, depth was good for my 290. Town is a short walk with restaurants and shops. I will visit again.

Great Overnight Spot, 2013-07-22
Captain: , Chesterfield, MI (37)

Marina has fixed docks and floating docks. Was shallow entering the marina, approximatley 4 ft deep. People in town said they will be dredging in Aug '13. Town is a short walk from the marina, several restaurants/bars, shops, etc. You can tell there used to be more as there are vacant buildings. Hopefully some will reopen. We will def be back.

Lexington, 2013-06-07
Captain: , St. Thomas USVI (336)

The town has lots of nice shops, restaurants, etc. however the enterance is very shallow (less than 4') but there are plans to dredge in 2013.

Lexington State Harbor, 2013-01-10
Captain: , Leamington, Ontario (710)

Loved it! Walking distance to everything, but too bad the town appears to be on it's way down.....stores closed, possibly due to bad economy?

Can't wait to return, great place.

stopped here often, 2012-03-02
Captain: , Olcott, NY (2536)

We had the opportunity to go to anchor here and enjoyed it a lot.
Fuel dock and the town was very handy to get in and out.
Nice helpful staff.

Great Stop over, 2011-09-30
Captain: , Mac Ray Harbor (120)

We stop here often when travelling up north. Wonderful Marina facility and fun little town. Lots to do and see. Great Beach and Park right next to the Marnia

Recommend arriving an hour before closing..., 2011-08-17
Captain: , Lake Erie (68)

We had called this facility by phone the morning of our planned arrival and were advised they were there until 10pm. We were in the channel by 7:15pm and after being assigned a dock with no instructions on where we tried to contact the facility again by VHF and phone with no answer. We were met by a person who seemed annoyed we were there. He told us to pay in the morning and left. He didn't leave bathroom instructions (code) or anything. It was very frustrating. Had it not been for kind fellow boaters we'd have been locked out of the restrooms. Apparently they close at 8 during the week. The gentleman the following morning did make things right but it was a frustrating (and unusual) experience for our trip. By the time we were tied up and headed to town around 8 it was real quiet. The only non fast food was Streis' Village pub which had good pizza and sandwiches. This location does NOT have wifi unless you are close enough to the private marina next door but according to what we learned this morning was not for the state dockage. We were at the north end by anchorage and couldn't get to it.
Had about 7' in the center of the channel and about the same at the dock. Overall a nice facility but our experience was frustrating because of the employee. Make sure to get instructions with the assignment AND the bathroom code!

standby trailered port, 2011-08-09
Captain: , Detroit (720)

I must have trailered to Lexington 100+ times over the years. Can get loud on party weekends at least compared to Port Sanilac, which is nearly silent. Love the town and marina. It's like my distant marina home away from home port.

Great place to stop, 2011-07-31
Captain: , Jeffersonville, IN (594)

Great place to stop for the night. Excellant docks, great protection, and friendly staff make this a great place for fuel and spending the night. (And probably much more but this is the limit of my experience with this port) The port entrance is tricky at night with the entrance marked by a flashing red light but a very dim green to accompany it. Proceed slowly, watch your sounder, and you should be good to go.

Great little Harbor, 2011-04-01
Captain: , Port Horon, Mighigan (46)

Lexington is a short walk and there are many restaurants, bars, shops. Great place to spent the weekend.

Lexington harbor, 2010-04-17
Captain: , Sarnia (141)

Nice marina, we visit at least once per year. Lots of shops nearby, great place to shop for antiques if you are in to that. When the water level in Lake Huron is low, it can be a climb to get on the docks if you have a smaller boat.

lexington, 2009-07-12
Captain: , Michigan (519)

Just visited 7/2009. Harbormaster reported minimum 7'. We never saw less than 8'. Lexington is the nicest town on Mi side of southern Lake Huron along with Port Austin.

One of my favorites!, 2009-07-02
Captain: , Catawba Island, Ohio (610)

This is one of my favorite places to visit! The town is very nice. There are many shops and little places to get a bite to eat. They are all a very short walk from the Marina. No bikes necessary here. You must get a burger at Wimpy's! As with all the Michgan State Boat Harbors, the docks are kept up very well. The bath house is kept clean. There is a public side and a "private" side for the boaters at the bath house, and the boaters side is kept up much better. There is a decent beach adjacent to the Marina and nice park and playground for the kids. The water is so much clearer up here then in Lake Erie!

Great place to spend time, 2009-05-27
Captain: , St Clair Shores, MI (19)

Docks are very nice. Downtown Lexington is within walking distance where there are many restaurants, bars, shops, and even a dinner theater. There is a large park near the marina with a playground and beach. In the summer there is a stage set up with music in the park. Highly recommended!
