If you are looking for all the bells and whistles this is not for you. On the other hand the price is good and they give a military discount. They repaired and upgrade all the docks last summer which is good. You will need to watch your power connection on the dock side. But you should do that any way. The bathrooms are cleaned daily and issues get fixed quickly. Management has been willing to work with us on issues we have had. If you are nice so are they. Best protected marina on the lake. Best part are the other boaters. All very friendly and helpful. Can't beat the location. You can walk to West Marine and Blackburn. Within limits you can also work on and up keep your boat.

This is a great place. All repairs get very fast attention. Pleasant management and maintanance staff.

An average place to stay. But, the docks are fixed, not floating.
The people are friendly. And they do have a pump out station.
West Marine is right across the street in walking distance.

I've just renewed my lease for the 2nd time now. All the boaters that I've meet there are friendly. The marina and compound is kept clean and is not too far from the bay. They are currently making improvements to the docks.

High banks protect boats from winds, island in center allows surge to circulate, loaction behind Watergate marina also provides protection.

Most boats survived recent Galveston bay hurricanes with little damage: a few swim platforms caught under piers when water went down, then up; some genoas and loose articles suffered wind damage.

Inexpensive - Many repairs have been done, 2012-11-22

We have had our boat here for about 2 years now. The marina has fixed piers and is fairly inexpensive. The live aboard fee here is about half of most of the others in the area.
The bathrooms and club houses have been remodeled and are nice and always clean.
Approach to this Marina is shallow, I typically go in at Watergate and stay inside of the dredged area markers of Watergate to get to my slip at Legend Point.
I do wish there were floating docks, but other than that, it is a decent place. Each slip has power, water and cable connections. I have seen both 30 and 50 amp services

Hard to beat, 2012-01-11

I just put my boat in here. Management is working hard to improve the facilities. And nobody can touch the price, partially because I rent an apartment here too. Fixed docks but little or no current and good protection from the wind. The worst thing is the approach - shallow water at low tide.

nice but serious issues, 2011-09-10

I am a safety engineer who took time off to learn more about boats. I took a job here three days a week as Harbor master and met many great people.
From a safety standpoint they violate half the dang OSHA marine safety laws. The management I have seen first hand treat the boaters poorly. They seem to realy care about the apartments there but not so much for the marina.
The location is good and close to many services and entetainment places. If not for the management and the poor conditions of the fixed piers it would be great. I would not recomend it there, they have a cheap deal to get you in but in 6 months the rates are the same as any other place in the area but with a lot of problems that you just do not need.

Not even close to ok, 2011-08-07

Bought my boat here. Was planning to stay BUT: Managment rude. VERY shallow aproach, with a winding channel. Facilities often dirty. Fixed docks with some quality issues. Overall fail. Same price elsewhere gets you a much better experience.
