Reviews for Legacy Harbour Marina
How did I Miss this place, 2016-08-27
Captain: , Boca Raton, FL (995)

I pass through Ft. Myers often and have never stopped here because of the lack of Fuel. That won't happen again. We had heard great things about this marina so decided that we would stop here for the night. We were running late coming from Bradenton and they gave us a spot on a face dock and all the information to access the facilities. We were not disappointed. We ate at Joes Crab Shack which is a high energy family restaurant right there and was not disappointed. After dinner we talked with people that were staying there and grilling. The next morning coffee was good and we checked out to a friendly staff. Even without fuel, we will stay here from now on.

Best Marina in Ft Myers, 2016-07-22
Captain: , Ft. Myers, Fl. (361)

We've been here almost a year. 53' Navigator. Great Floating Docks. Great Staff. Clean bathrooms & laundry. Wifi is okay during the summer but in season very slow. Figure too many people streaming especially at night. Cable is standard definition & poor quality. End of D Dock is a hike to the parking lot. Pet Friendly. No fuel. Pump out at slip. Protected from chop. Condos next door block Satellite for a few slips. Motel next door. Bennett's Donuts across the street. Best donuts ever. Publix 3 blocks. Downtown Ft Myers is 4 blocks, has lots of events & restaurants, some with sidewalk seating.

Stopped there in Dec 2015, 2016-04-25
Captain: , Huntsville (40)

We had just bought our Catamaran and en route to Mobile. We stopped for a few days to get things organized and ready for the rest of the trip and Legacy took care of everything we needed. The people staying are great, friendly, helpful, and the staff went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. If all marinas did what Legacy does, no one would bother finding a mooring. If you are close, its worth the time to go there. If its on your way, stop and take a break for a few days just because it will be worth it.

Perfection Plus, 2016-04-23
Captain: , Cape Canaveral (1101)

Update April 2016
We indeed returned for the winter, Dec '15 to April '16 and again it was perfect in every respect. Five stars PLUS.

Agree with all the five star reviews. Super marina folks, very friendly and helpful. Facilities clean and convenient. Downtown Fort Myers is terrific and Publix very handy; both only 5 minute walk. We'll be back

Great location, great marina, 2015-12-21
Captain: , Kemah, TX (150)

We moved our 35' Catalina sailboat here in Nov 2015 for the winter from Texas. Everyone at the marina is first class and the other tenants as well. All floating docks. Lots of activities, lots to go see and do close by. Old town Ft Myers is 2 blocks away and has either a art show or music show every other weekend. Tons of restuarants, bars and places to go. Publix is a block away. Ford Edison Estates are 2-3 blocks away. $35 cab fare from airport before tip. Reasonable hotel rooms if you have too many guests on site. Heated pool. Lot's of sponsored tenant stuff by the marina. While mainly a power boat marina there are a few sailboats here. You have to watch the avg 54' bridge height.
Yes it's a few hours up the river but it's worth a stay to enjoy everything that is around the place.

Great Floating Docks, Great People!, 2015-06-23
Captain: , St. Ignace, Michigan (236)

We stayed here for 2 months and found it the nicest group of dockmates in 5 years of cruising! The dockmaster and staff care about you and the facility, and the location couldn't be more convenient. Many people seem to have been here for years, and we see why...Joe's Crab Shack on property is great, Bennets Roast glazed donuts across street are the best...convenient parking...clean and air conditioned rest rooms!

Very nice marina and great staff, 2015-05-29
Captain: , Miami Beach, FL (50)

Stayed a night here and had a great experience. This staff was extremely helpful. We were late getting here so the lady at the office called us to make sure we had all of the necessary codes and a slip assignment. Had a great dinner at Joe's Crab Shack.

Will definitely stay here again.

Very Good Stay, 2015-04-23
Captain: , Norwalk (273)

We have stayed at Legacy Harbor for two months and we are about to trek back to the North East. We will be back next winter season because this is a clean, functional, well run and friendly facility. Its a gated marina and security guards partrol the marina at night. Its location to downtown is good, and access from the ICW is excellent. Eric Ravenschlag runs a very good facility.

Met Our Every Need, 2015-02-04
Captain: , St. Petersburg FL (10)

Both the facilities and people at Legacy Harbour Marina met our every need during our recent visit:

1. They monitored our arrival, provided guidance into the marina via VHF, and were waiting at the dock to help us tie up.

2. The marina facilities were top notch (including the showers and laundry facilities). And, its location to both downtown restaurants and shopping were perfect. (There is a excellent coffee and donut shop just across the street that opens at 6 am.)

3. When we needed to change our plans at the last moment, Eric went out of his way to find a way to accommodate us. He also provided all types of information to help us implement our changed schedule.

I can recommend Legacy Harbour Marina without reservation.

We'll be back ..., 2015-01-13
Captain: , Hobe Sound, Florida (450)

Always on the lookout for floating dock marinas, this one is a top-notch operation with excellent, clean facilities, close proximity to downtown shops and restaurants, and at least one very helpful and patient dock attendant, Serena. Lots of friendly slip holders as well.

Very Nice except....., 2015-01-06
Captain: , Conway (145)

The facilities at Legacy are very nice, all facilities are top notch, and the property is very clean. The location (near downtown proper) is great for dining, walking, etc. I gave a rating of only four stars for the following reasons. The staff seems to be preoccupied with serving the long term slip users. The Dock Master (Eric) was very distracted doing boat repairs, and was not interested in greeting you at any point of any day. I felt like was an intruder. (I have been greeted better at any Wal-Mart). No big deal, but.... a general 'HI' will do. The office staf was a bit better, but needs customer training.
Bottom line waould I go back yes, but i would consider other marinas too.

Excellent Marina, 2014-12-24
Captain: , Kemah, TX (612)

Easy access, great dock assistance, excellent ships store, reasonable rates.

Legacy Marina, 2014-11-01
Captain: , Milford (40)

Reasonable prices, close to everything you'd want. The facilities are clean and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Great marina, floating docks and location, 2014-09-27
Captain: , Ft Myers, Florida (1663)

Very secure location. Excellent staff , great attitudes. Pool, owners lounge. Gated parking area, great area for walking and biking. Publix and liquor store 1/2 mile. Numerous restaurants in downtown Ft Myers 1/2 mile. Office keeps cards on file of many repair vendors. Owl Creek 5 miles offers excellent haulouts and hull repairs. Super West Marine about 5 mile drive . Marina on bus route, rental cars nearby, movie theater about 4 miles North. Brackish water so bottom growth not as bad as some places.
Good fuel prices at near by City of Ft Myers docks

Excellent Facility!!, 2014-05-02
Captain: , Wilmington, NC (250)

We've been here one night, and plan to stay the whole month, maybe two. Great facility. Concrete floating docks, long finger piers, great boaters lounge, exercise room, a/c bathrooms and laundry, cable, pool, wi-fi (older reviews may have said it was spotty, but management has installed new system and it works great). Staff is very helpful and friendly. Lots to do nearby. Ft. Myers has Art Walk and Music Walk weekends, Edison Ford museums nearby. Publix nearby.
This is the way marinas ought to be run. It might be a little pricey, but you're getting something for your money.

First rate!, 2014-04-06
Captain: , Chicago, IL (998)

Like the comment below, Eric (habormaster) squeezed us in even though the marina was packed, and personally caught our lines when we arrived even though he was setting up for the Boaters Appreciation party. We've stayed a month and intend on staying longer. The facilities are in excellent shape, fairways are wide, so much to do in Downtown Ft. Myers, Publix/liquor store is a very short walk away. All of the marina employees I've encountered - Lana, Sheila, Jim - have gone above and beyond good customer service. There's a small fitness facility, pool, grill/patio area, pump out at the slip, gated parking for vehicles.

Top notch, well worth the expense., 2014-03-25
Captain: , Pensacola, FL (532)

Eric squeezed us in on short notice, then extended our reservation to a week, although they appeared full. Eric referred us to Performance Marine to attend to a faulty starter on one fo my gas engines. Then Eric disposed of my used oil and filters next door at the city marina disposal containers. Excellent service, BTW, from their (PM) manager and mobile mechanic, and very reasonable on the checkbook. First mate was happy that restrooms/showers were numerous/clean and that the multiple laundry locations meant no waiting for open machines. We see why so many folks winter here before heading north.

Great Marina, 2014-03-23
Captain: , St. James, NC (253)

All the praise for the location are correct, downtown is great. The staff led by Eric are outstanding. The repeat snowbirds make this a great place to spend the winter. Only problems are the wifi and the cable tv. How can such a great place have such terrible wifi and cable???

A Great Winter Choice, 2014-03-12
Captain: , Castine, Maine (2997)

Legacy Harbour Marina has beautiful floating docks with security and all the amenities you would need. Publix is a short walk away, as is downtown Ft. Myers. All these things make this a great stop and would make it a 5 star marina. But there's more. What is really special is the liveaboard community. There is a large population that spends some or all of the winter here. They are fun and welcoming with docktails and potlucks and other events. It is obvious that they are having a good time. Legacy promotes this wonderful community making their facilities available and going out of the way to help. We were lucky enough to arrive on the day of their annual Boaters' Appreciation Party. And it was some party indeed. A catered dinner, live music with dancing, and lots of very nice prizes given away. If you are looking for a good winter hang out, this is it. We look forward to returning and staying for a spell.

Very nice facility, 2014-03-10
Captain: , Palm Beach Gardens, FL (1897)

Spent the past week here and were impressed with the marina which is probably one reason why it is so popular.
Only negatives were poor TV cable reception. The weekly power rate was metered which is actually a benefit for the boater as our 50amp service for one week was only $12.00
There was also very secure dingy and trailor storage across the street for $25 a week.
Would definitely stop again.

Great Marina, 2014-03-10
Captain: , Cincinnati (65)

Stopped at Legacy Marina on several occasions this spring. Both times, we were met at the dock by Eric who handled the lines. The marina is very clean and is within walking distance of a Publix and downtown restaurants and shops. The boaters, who call this marina home, could not have been nicer and more welcoming. We had a wonderful stay at Legacy and it is one of our favorites.

legacy harbour, 2014-03-10
Captain: , cameron wi (10)

great marina great staff --coming here for over 10 years

Legacy Harbor, 2014-03-04
Captain: , Pasadena,Maryland (510)

Convenient to Publix. Large marina- my slip was a long way from the bathroom/shower. cable didn't work to well. Pumpout at slip was convenient.

FIRST CLASS, 2014-03-04
Captain: , East Falmouth, MA (1533)

Spent the month of Feb. 2014 here. With the exception of wifi, everything here is first class. Eric and his crew are eager to please and set up activities to make your stay more enjoyable. Close to downtown and many good restaurants. Edison estate a great take. As stated, wifi (Beacon) is very difficult to get onto and then very slow.

Top of the list., 2014-01-22
Captain: , Meredith, NH (638)

Excellent marina. We draft 5' & they were able to accomodate us. The floating docks are a wish come true. The marina is 2 blocks from all the downtown activity, shops, restaurants, library, arts center & groceries. Eddison Ford homes are about 6 blocks & there is a free trolley to tote you around town & to the main buses. Great stop long or short term.

Legacy Marina @ Ft. Myers, 2013-12-13
Captain: , Sandwich (692)

Fabulous marina. Mariner friendly pot luck gatherings. Attentive dock and office staff. Heated pool, gas grills, clean bath/shower rooms, laundry, great sunset views, short walk to Publix and down town Ft Myers and historic Edison Ford winter estates. All the cruiser comforts make this a must stop on the Caloosahatche River. And with the renaissance change in Ft Myers makes it a welcoming and inviting stay.

Top Knotch Marina in Ft Myers, 2013-09-20
Captain: , Melbourne, FL (232)

Came in on 9/17/13 while bringing a boat from Tarpon Springs to Melbourne, FL. This is a great place to stop. Great facility and lots of restaurants down town only a few blocks away. Perfect to reprovision with a Publix very close.

Very good stop, 2013-08-27
Captain: , Palm Beach Gardens (452)

I have stopped here on 2 different deliveries and plan to do so on future deliveries. The guest dock is 150 ft long, easy to get to, and there has always been room. I also noted that there were other empty docks in the marina which may be used for guest dockage. A Publix grocery store is only 2 blocks away and an easy walk.

Our favorite, 2013-08-16
Captain: , Acworth, GA (225)

Picked this marina to leave our boat for a couple of months while we returned home for a planned pause in our Great Loop. The only negative we had was that the Internet service was something less than perfect, but unless you want to do streaming video, it is more than adequate for most of your needs. Great Boaters Lounge on top of marina office. Two sets of showers and laundries in two separate buildings. Hotel, pool, tiki bar, pump outs at the slip, but no fuel. Fuel at municipal marina the other side of the highway 41 bridge. Great restaurants within 6 blocks maximum, and a Publix about 4 blocks away. Super restaurants downtown. What more could you want???? An absolute favorite. Harbormaster Eric helped us out with some planned and unplanned maintenance items while we were there. This is a MUST stop if you are anywhere close.

FIrst-class Spot, 2013-08-08
Captain: , Corpus Christi, TX (702)

Great location with nearby grocery, etc. Easy walk to downtown shopping. Fabulous staff and facility--and lots of friendly full-timers. Everything was top-notch, including staff assistance and attitude!

Very Nice marina, 2013-08-01
Captain: , Montgomery Alabama (1102)

The marina is very nice , with a swimming pool , lounge and shower facilities . Helpful staff and friendly dock neighbors .
A Publix is just up the street , and there was a Farmers Market under the bridge , this morning .

Great location, 2013-07-29
Captain: , Indian Rocks Beach (296)

Nice stop with helpful staff. The shower/bathroom facilities are some of the best you will ever find, right off the pool. During the summer the pool bar is closed, but there is a restaurant on site and dozens within walking distance. Publix is also less than two blocks away. No fuel dock, but the marina next door is an easy stop.

A Ft. Myers Must, 2013-07-27
Captain: , Anna Maria Island (573)

We have visited here three times and each time have loved it. Not only the marina but the town has a great deal to offer. Not just a one time stop, marina staff is very helpful, just ask they will help you find all that you are looking for

Good stop in Fort Myers, 2013-05-04
Captain: , Punta Gorda, Fl (880)

After a long day going thru locks from the east. this was a nice respite! Good docks. friendly staff, great boaters lounge/showers/laundry. Pool is nice if not too cold! Lovely covered Chicki Hut for shade/BBQ grills. Also some hotel rooms. Next door to Joes Crab Shack. Also can walk downtown to nice venues and the FL Repertory Theatre. Walk or bike to Publix Grocery and Edison/Ford Estates. Yacht club/ cruiser groups very welcome.

Superb Marina, 2013-04-30
Captain: , wichita falls (260)

Legacy Harbor Marina is definitely one of the top 5 marina we ever stayed in. We stayed here for a month and from this point we know it was a good decision. First we tried Marinatown and ran aground on the way in, in just 2ft of water! Then we radioed LHM and they were very helpful and professional. This is a modern marina, clean and fairly priced. We strongly recommend this place!

Top Notch!, 2013-04-27
Captain: , Longboat Key, FL (955)

I made the mistake of making at reservation at Fort Myers Yacht Basin which has fixed concrete docks (and pretty high off the water). Realizing that my mate would have a hard time getting off the boat at low tide, I called Legacy Harbor and asked for last minute dockage. They could not have been nicer and more helpful. Legacy Harbor is a first class marina with floating docks, clean heads, and within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Safe, secure and very well run.

Will Always Return, 2013-04-21
Captain: , Somers Point (460)

Simply put, this is a fabulous marina in an exceptional location with a more than capable staff. Large fairways and slips. You might have difficulty if you draw more than six feet. Otherwise, simple walk to Publix/liquor and town. Farmers market nearby on Thursdays as well. Must see!!

Great Place., 2013-04-18
Captain: , St. Louis, MO (1777)

This is a first class marina with all of the bells and whistles...and for $2 a foot it should. Eric is awesome. Puplix is a few blocks away. Bring a cart to bring your goods back to the marina. Plenty of maneuvering room.

Clean, Secure, Nice Folks, 2013-04-04
Captain: , Boulder, CO (60)

No one stays here for just one night. it is such a nice spot that you are inclined to stay over a day or two. Floating docks. New machine laundry, Business Center. pleasant staff, capable dock hands on entry. Boat US
discount. Fuel at City Marina 100 yards away. Great stop.

Great marina, 2013-04-03
Captain: , Anna Maria, FL (165)

This is a great marina. The dock staff were friendly and helpful. There are good shower facilities. No food service but it is located in an area with plenty of restaurants. Also, Publics in about 2-3 blocks away. The place is clean and well maintained. Good overnight stop or for a longer stay.

WiFi Problematic at Times, 2013-03-15
Captain: , Wilmington, DE (10)

At an otherwise excellent marina, we recently experienced very unreliable wifi connectivity and internet availability quite often during a one-month stay. The staff does their very best to attempt to resolve the issues when they occur, but a long term solution seems to be out of their reach. It appears impossible to determine whether the problems are with the local equipment infrastructure, or with Beacon, or with Comcast. Several long-term residents told us that these problems have gone on "forever", and have purchased non-marina wifi and internet access. This situation could be remedied, but the owners need to bring in the technical help to make it happen. The staff is unfortunately powerless to provide a permanent fix.

We'll be back, 2013-01-30
Captain: , Montreal, PQ (141)

Nice facilities, floating concrete docks, friendly boaters. Well maintained. Helpful staff. Manager Eric pays attention to details and really cares about your good opinion. Good location downtown. Lots to do in Fort Myers. We will definitely be back.
A little expensive, sail boaters get special monthly deals though ($12 per foot). Beacon Wifi, out for 5 days, not the marina's fault.

Good karma 1-12 to 1-19, 2013-01-24

This Marina felt like home and is now our Homeport, 2012-10-13
Captain: , Fort Myers, FL (80)

Capt. Eric (Harbormaster) and his team are there to help you dock and to ensure your stay is what you expect. Capt. Eric is a good source for referrals for yacht services that you may require during your stay and yacht management/maintenance services if you need to leave your boat for an extended period of time. Historic Downtown Fort Myers with a variety of restaurants/entertainment venues and grocery store within walking distance add to the enjoyment of this location. You can enjoy a walk or bike ride down the Palm lined streets. All marina amenities detailed on their web site are well maintained and ready for your use and/or enjoyment

It's a great marina with nice folks running it.
Downtown Ft Myers is really cool.
If close you should check it out.

3 years later... Even better!
Eric, the Dock Master is a great guy.... very knowledgable.

We were only stayed for one night but have a few cruising friends here for extended stays. They all seem to love it here.

Satelite TV, 2011-12-18
Captain: , Branford, CT (910)

We've been here a week, and it's a great spot. Another cruiser came in to slip A2 and could not get satelite (Direct TV) service. There are tall condos to the west which block a good view of the sky. I suspect slips A1-A12 might not get good satelite reception. We are in A14 and it works well. If satelite is important to you, ask the staff.

There is free cable TV hook ups at each slip.

Excellent marina, 2011-12-04
Captain: , Marthas Vineyard (506)

We were very happy at this marina which has floating docks and all the amenities including cable tv, helpful staff, card room, large deck, pool, etc. Walk to Publix and the downtown shopping area, recreational park. I'd skip the adjacent restaurant next time. We stayed a week, electric was metered, didn't need much heat or ac at this time of year and it was $5.30 for the week, rather than 3$ or 5$ per day! There are a few snowbirds there for extended stays and happy hours under the tiki hut several days a week.

Great stop for cruisers, 2011-11-02
Captain: , Temple Terrace, FL (224)

Professionally managed, helpful staff, clean, no fuel but fuel is availible nearby. Reasonable price, laundry and rest room/showers clean and inviting. Restaurants near, Publix nearby.

A great winter location, 2011-01-16
Captain: , Deale, Md (38)

We spent two winter seasons at this marina. They were building the huge apartment buildings next door whiloe we were there so there was some construction noise and bird dropping problems but I am sure that this is over now. This marina is first class everything and a real community of boaters (lots of livaboards). I would recomment it to everyone.

What a find!!!, 2011-01-09
Captain: , Jacksonville, FL (370)

An interlude of 5 weeks at this gem was both refreshing and educational. "C" Dock is a VERY social group of folks! Happy Hour daily. Restaurant Night on Tuesday. Thursday is Pot Luck---leaving 4 other nights for impromptu gatherings. The deck sports a huge well equipped tiki bar. Ft. Myers is a wonderful place to cycle. Publix is 2 blocks away. Downtown is equally as close. Edison-Ford Winter Estates is a must-see. The marina staff-Eric, Sheila, and Lana are par excellence. We're looking forward to adventures lying ahead but hated to leave Legacy and our new friends there.

Joe's Crab Shack, 2010-11-16

Joes Crab shack right there. Easy and fun place to stop for lunch.

Great Stop, 2010-11-15

Great Place to Stay, 2009-12-07
Captain: , Tellico Marina (290)

All you need within walking distance. The historic diistric is a 10 min walk and full of coffee shops and dinning. Our dog has plenty of room to walk and play. The staff is outstanding.
If I had a concern, it would be turns can be tight with big ships bordering the tight turns. Windy days might keep you at the dock.

Great Winter Retreat, 2009-06-05
Captain: , Memphis TN (977)

We wintered here for four months and loved it. The staff was the best. Was able to get good service for engine, plumbing, air conditioning and fiberglass repair. Had fuel delivered to the slip at good cost. Pumpout at the slip. Great winter boater community with a lot of activity. Two blocks to a great Publix food store and bakery. A Coffee and donut shop across the street. A couple blocks from downtown Ft Myers with many restaurants.

Highly recommend this location.

Great location & Staff, 2007-12-11
Captain: , Neabsco Creek, VA (95)

This is one of the most responsive staffs and cleanest marina we have stayed at in 2007. We are here for more than a month and have thoroughly enjoyed our time. Grocery is a block away, Joe's Crabhouse adjoins the marina, there is a farmers market on thursday mornings, a cruisers potluck dinner at 6:30pm on Thursday evenings and downtown is a quick walk.

The floating concrete docks are spacious.

New Publix, 2007-12-04
Captain: , Ft. Myers (376)

A new Publix supermarket is now open within 2 blocks of the marina. Fine staff, clean restrooms, large boater's lounge, floating docks, pumpout at your slip, sat tv and close to downtown. This is a well kept secret so go ahead and stay at the city marina.
