Reviews for Leamington Municipal Marina
Nice Marina, 2016-07-04
Captain: , Catawba Island Ohio (530)

Marina has plenty of nice floating docks about 2 feet out of the water with no posts, have fenders set. Very attentive staff, nice clean washrooms and showers, well cared for grounds. Nice waterfront park by marina. Town has many dinner options but lacks the charm of other Ontario Harbourtowns.

Big deep water marina., 2015-12-23
Captain: , Toronto (482)

A great place to tie up, even for large vessels. There have been many accidents where boaters have collided with the break wall, bu there shouldn't have been. Keep an eye open and it's fairly obvious.

Nice marina, town dissapointing., 2015-09-15
Captain: , LaSalle MI (575)

The marina is top notch. Town left a lot to be desired if you are seeking quaint little town. There is a great little bakery just up the street and a few nice restaurants nearby. The LCBO is close as is Wal Mart, a couple other groceries and a nice meat market. To us the real treat was biking to Point Pelee National Park. Being fallish, the Monarchs were passing through. There are some great restaurants along the way, our favorite being Birdies, which serves fantastic perch out of a bus about a 40 minute walk or 15 minute bike ride away. Right out of marina and out Pelee Ave. Freddies is also nice, but not quite burdies. They do sereve adult beverages however. The ride to the point is quiet and not tough at all. Nice views and visit the southern most point on mainland Canada. Well worth a stop and considering it is Lake Erie, a nice spot.

Great Marina, 2015-08-19

First time there for the Tomato Festival last weekend. Excellent facilities and staff! Also, lots to see in town. Just a shart bike ride from the marina

Leaminton Marina, 2015-08-09
Captain: , Windsor (270)

You can get lazy coming here! It is a great place, lots of fun hanging with people from Ontario, Michigan and Ohio. I always leave here wondering who's stupid idea that border was!

Summer Vacation 2014, 2015-01-27
Captain: , Marblehead, OH (21)

Wow, what a place to stay!!! The marina facilities are top notch. The staff is very helpful and knows what they are doing, we were very impressed. We stayed here for 2 days and would have stayed longer, but could not due to the marina being completely booked by the GLCC for their annual rendezvous. This is a destination marina.

As good as it gets., 2014-09-27
Captain: , Cleveland, Ohio (130)

I planned two nights here but stayed four to avoid some weather. What a great place. They have a fantastic staff and really nice docks and facilities. Downtown Leamington is about 2 miles (3.2km) away but it's a pleasant enough walk and I did it a couple times. But cabs were easy to catch too. Several restaurants are nearby with a little walk.

Best Marina on Lake Erie, 2014-08-13
Captain: , lake erie (136)

This marina has it all including customer service, all are friendly and go way beyond what is expected. They have a 3 day special price also.
Have been twice this year, restrooms are clean as are the grounds!

Lovely Leamington, 2013-08-31
Captain: , Pittsburgh (513)

Great marina with floating docks that are relatively new. Good access to the town for shopping, etc. ice cream store and more.
If you have bikes the ride to Peely Point is a great day out.

The staff are very helpful and the facilities are comprehensive.

Great marina!, 2013-08-05

This is a top notch marina, great staff, beautiful grounds and lounge!

Leamington Marina, 2013-01-10

Clean, friendly, active staff. Excellent restaurants close by, good rates. Good transient turn over provides opportunities to meet fellow sailors.

Six stars outta five, 2012-08-21
Captain: , Olcott, NY (2536)

These folks know how to do a marina right.
The grounds are spectacular, the staff cordial and go outta there way to make your stay awesome.
We stayed an extra day just because we were so impressed.
Clean wide docks, plenty of water for deep drafts, private showers, clean restrooms, reasonably priced at $1.65 cdn per ft.
Free wi-fi that was fairly high speed.
Wonderful "Tomato Festival" during our stay this week.
High quality landscaping all around the grounds.
Beautiful promenade along the waterfront with depictions of the offshore ship wrecks!
Lovely bike ride out to the Southern most point of Canada, Point Pelee.
Can you tell we liked this place :-)

2nd trip here., 2012-05-25
Captain: , Warwick, RI (432)

Our first time here we were stuck waiting for a hurricae to pass. They are attempting to upgrade the showers and the amenities are nice and clean. There are security gates. The dock hands were helpful.
We even had Naples Pizza deliver a pizza right to the dock which was great after a long day.
The town is a basically a tomato cannery but the Mexican food is great.

It's about the marina, not the town, 2012-05-11
Captain: , Cedar Point, OH (659)

I'm not a big fan of the town itself, but I agree with all the earlier reviews about the marina facilities and mgt. They should run their own marina mgt school!

Leamington Municipal Marina, 2011-10-19
Captain: , Lake Erie and Indian Lake, OH (40)

We spent two nights at the Marina. It was very nice and people very helpful. It has wide slips, electric, water, fuel, and pumpout faciliites. The restrooms/showers were good. It has a customs phone at the Marina. There are restaurants close by but there is a walk to see the town. Bikes can be rented.

Excellent Marina!, 2011-08-09
Captain: , Huron, OH (176)

Summer Home spent three nights at Leamington. What a great stop. Ronan Oliver and his staff provided excellent service. The place runs like an airport . . . when you call in they immediately answer the radio with your dock assignment and let you know which side you'll be tying up on.
The washrooms and showers are very clean and numerous. The grounds are a beautiful park with all kinds of plantings, seating areas overlooking with marina, picnic tables, and grills.
We're planning on making another visit in September for some wine touring.

Excellent Marina, Great Staff, 2011-02-03
Captain: , Titusville, FL, USA (411)

We've visited 3 times and had excellent service everytime. On one visit our motor had died so we had to sail into our slip. The marina was very helpful and provided a slip with plenty of room and staff to catch our lines. Local people are very friendly and helpful as well. On a visit in 2010 a couple weeks after the tornadoes came through a local sailor offered 4 of us a ride into town and gave us a tour of the town and tornado damage. The facilities are excellent and well maintained.

One of the best, 2010-12-29
Captain: , Huron, OH (63)

Room to turn, good docks, all land facilities are first rate. Staff from manager to dock hands are customer service oriented. Short ride to town for all supplies. Fuel and pump out but no repairs. Wifi in lounge.

In the spring 2010 the marina was hit by a tornado. This limited the slips available for transients. It is expected that the marina will be back to normal for the 2011 season. Check their website. Unlike some others they try to keep things current.

One of the best! We visit at least twice a year!, 2010-02-23
Captain: , Sandusky Bay (263)

Leamington Muni Marina Is the best marina we have ever visited, including those along the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway between Norfolk and Boot Key Harbor. The staff are mostly college kids whose enthusiasm and energy are contagious. The setting is one of the most beautiful and the countless hanging flowers are nothing short of spectacular. There are restaurants, bars, ice cream shops, mom and pop "diners" and a great little beach, all within an easy stroll. The bus is perhaps one of the best municipal transportation schemes around. You can take about a fifteen minute walk to the major chain grocery, load up with stuff and the bus picks you up right in front and drops you off at the marina. On your walk, you will pass one of Ontario's big liquor stores where just about any beverage may be found. Be sure you take the bus to downtown and walk around for a while. Maybe you'll come across a few of the great little restaurants to enjoy as we did. If you're there on Thursday, don't miss the Italian Club's pasta night. (Ask Ronan) We've not made it yet, but I understand that the breakfast they serve almost every day is really good. I can't wait to get Glissť back up to Leamington!

Best public marina so far, 2009-08-24
Captain: , Sandusky (93)

In short, Leamington Municiple Marina sets the standard for public marinas. Just the fact that they have a staff that cares about doing a good job sets them apart from nearly every other public dock I've been to.

Great Place to visit, 2009-07-02
Captain: , Catawba Island, Ohio (610)

We visit this marina every year. Really great place to go. The facilities are outstandting. The bathrooms are kept clean. The staff hustle out to help take your lines. There are many great places to eat nearby. The docks are in great condition. I am always amazed by the beautiful, gigantic hanging flower pots! Leamington is a nice town to visit.

Great Marina, 2008-12-14
Captain: , Port Washington, WI (30)

We unexpectedly visited this marina when outrunning a big thunderstorm on Lake Erie. We arrived 60 seconds before the storm hit. Marina personnel were waiting to take lines and tied us up in seconds. There are excellent restaurants nearby, top notch restrooms and a lovely park like setting. We would highly recommend this marina.
