Reviews for Lauderdale Yacht Club
First Class operation!, 2016-03-16
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale (20)

Have spent considerable time here over many years, always friendly, food suberb, staff awsome, drinks oversized. You must have Yacht club affiliation to stay, but does not have to be a Florida club. Highly recomended!

Great location, grest people, great facility, 2015-11-05
Captain: , Erie, Pa. (1896)

Top notch Florida Council Club. Staff was terrific, food was good and how can you beat the scenery and view. Was ther night of 10-29-13. 8-9 feet of water in channel at near low tide. Excellent power.

There again 10-29-14, great club, nice docks, good food, dockmaster very cordial.

Again night of 11-3-15, comments still accurate, while the facility and food are both great the staff is the best thing about this club.

Great club easy to get in/out, 2015-04-01

We stayed here one night, great staff, good easy to dock, clean restrooms and showers. The pool is awesome. And great food at the restaurant, make sure to check if you need reservations.

Our experience at Lauderdale YC was extremey pleasant, so much so want to make it a stop on our way north. First of all, the Dock Master Brandon could not have been more helpful. This is a tricky club to get into. He gave us specific directions and was waiting for us when we arrived. Following our registering, he gave us a tour of the club and its amenities. The office staff was courteous and provided us the necessary card for our stay. When we called for reservations, she did ask if we were members of a recipricating yacht club and checked to be sure ours was one. Upon registration, we were asked to see our yacht club membership cards. We did not mind this at all. This staff is both cordial and professional. We decided to have dinner in one of the many dining rooms and bars. Everything was delicious, expertly prepared and presented and very reasonably priced. The wait staff is excellent and attentive. The club is beautiful, clean and friendly. We were amazed at the number of staff members this club employs. Christmas trees and decorations were in every room making the club feel warm and inviting. An A class club. I enjoyed watching he Opti Sailors race after school!

Very nice facility, 2012-05-15
Captain: , Boothbay Harbor, Maine (310)

Spent 4 days here while heading north. It is a gorgeous club and about the best rate around at $2/ft. You do need to know if your YC has reciprocity. They check on it. Follow the marked channel between red 26 and 24A to access.

Fort Lauderdale Yacht Club, 2011-02-05
Captain: , World (1031)

Just one of the best marinas that I have been to, top notch in all categories. We got in as we had a membership in recognized club.

Becareful of the Ritchie Rich's that are careless with their boats. We had one bring his express cruiser and docked in front of us... ran off the boat with quick loop of his line on the cleat... an hour late we noticed his boat moving and thought he was leaving, but there was no one onboard... we had to scrabble to get on his boat and secure it... he showed up a few mins later and wanted to know what we were doing on his boat... when told, there were no Thanks...

The entrance into Fort Lauderdale is full of commercial traffic, so stay on top of your game. When we were there an aircraft carrier was just pulling out and there were tugs and police boats everywhere.

I would agree with the previous review, great yacht club and marina manager. Very accommodating toward other yacht club members. One of the best youth sailing programs in the country.

This is a gorgeous yacht club, run properly, at a great location. Use range lights to follow center of channel during approach and pay attention in an east or north-east breeze. Transient slips are fixed wood so bring your bumpers. Restaurant and bar are top class with well trained staff offering proper service with a smile. Showers and pool are great. Reciprocity with other YCs a must.
