Reviews for Lauderdale Marina
Convenient spot for fuel and service was friendly, 2016-10-11
Captain: , Toronto (60)

We only made a quick stop at the fuel dock with our 37 foot sailboat. Dock attendants were there right away to help us tie off. Diesel prices were competitive for area at $2.39. Very friendly service. Would not hesitate to go back. Did not use any of the marina services, so cant speak to that.

Exceptional, 2016-09-12
Captain: , Fort Lauderdale (93)

After the many negative reviews I was hesitant to stop here but on passage yesterday from Jupiter to Marina Bay near the top of the New River, it was convenient to stop and rest while waiting for slack water. Charlie, the dock hand, was exceptional. I was single handing and he gave me clear and simple directions to the very end of the fuel dock (even though I didn't need fuel). He was competent and efficient with the lines, and I was secured in no time.

I was in need of a shower and a good meal. I showered on board and then walked the few paces to the restaurant. The food was outstanding and the service was fun and friendly. I had probably the best Mahi-Mahi I've enjoyed in years and left wondering why I haven't stopped here many times in the past.

If the service has changed on account of prior reviews then good for the management, but either way I have no hesitation giving five stars to Charlie and the team!

Diesel prices are good, 2016-05-01
Captain: , Round Pond, ME (10)

We pulled in just for diesel. The dock attendant was friendly and helpful and diesel prices are good.

Very Pleasant, 2016-02-10
Captain: , MT Desert ME (21)

Stopped in here today to top off with diesel and water. Called ahead on the VHF and they had someone waiting to assist us at the dock. He was extremelly helpfull and polite. Didn't seem to care that we only bough 29 gallons of diesel and 1 gallon of gas. Their pumpout on the new dock isn't working yet, but they told me about a free pumpout location in the canal beside the marina. Water did cost $10, but water isn't free at home either so I can't complain too much.

Better than expected!, 2016-01-19
Captain: , Oxford (40)

Came in for diesel 1/18/2016. Despite very poor AC reviews, it was the only fuel dock that was convenient, open when we needed fuel, and had no minimum purchase (i.e. 200 gal). We contacted the dock on VHF, were directed to their southern floating dock, greeted by two dock hands who moved two smalled vessels to accomodate our 45' LOA near the diesel pumps. Customer service was terrific!

No respect for customers., 2015-12-16
Captain: , Decatur, IL (23)

I suspect these kids see customers for how much they might tip. If you look like a cruiser I suspect they don't see a tip and treat you accordingly. I dinghied up to fill 4 Gerry cans with diesel and sat patiently while the attendant walked back and forth getting ice, handling the fuel lines to the pleasure boat customers. He passed me 4 times without so much as a nod. After he finished with the two boats on the dock he returned to the marina office. I assumed he would return after he finished doing whatever it was he was doing inside. After 4 or 5 minutes I went inside to see what was going on. He was standing behind the counter talking to the other attendant. I looked at him and he said"Can I help you?" I said, I sat out there patiently while you walked by several times and you never even acknowledged my exhistance." He said "What do you want me to do? I don't pump the gas for you." Well I thought he would have at least said, I'll be right with you, or go ahead and pump what you need.
I have gotten fuel here before and the attendant at least pulled the hose out and handed it to me. The kid was rude and cocky and while I have shopped there every year for fuel and fishing tackle, I will not return until the reviews reflect a different attitude in the employees. It seems obvious that with the horrible reviews this place has received that the management or owner would fix the problem. Apparently they don't care.

Good Place for fuel..good ends there, 2015-05-01
Captain: , Bristol, RI (350)

Easy access for fuel and intercoastal so we decided to stay in spite of the reviews. Staff was fairly helpful. We tied ourselves up for fuel. Staff actually didn't seem to have any interest in helping. The Bathrooms and Showers were extremely dirty and not maintained at all. It is hard to believe they ever get cleaned. There was one head and one shower that I could not imagine anyone wanting to use. As we were transients, it appeared little assistance is given to transients or smaller boats like a 38 footer. For the price per foot they could at least clean the facilities and assist when one has called and they tell you to come in. Writing a negative comment is difficult for me, but in this case, it was warranted. The marina is in a wonderful area. Cleaning it up and being friendlier would not take much. On the other hand, the restaurant on the premises appeared a fun place.
This marina could be a 5 star facility. Maybe management needs to take a good look at the facility.

Only went for Fuel, 2015-04-14
Captain: , USEastCoast (664)

Good prices on diesel. Fast in and out so you can do it while waiting for the bridge.

Poor Service & Expensive, 2014-11-15
Captain: , Brunswick, ME 04011 (92)

Hailed them on the VHF and they never even responded. When we did pull up to the dock they had a dock hand give us help with dockage. Fuel was $4.48 and the pump out was $20.00, CASH ONLY. We told the dock hand that this was just to expensive. His response was how much was pump out in the Bahamas! Our response was we are not in the Bahamas and we never paid more than $5.00 for a pumpout and half of the pumpouts we encountered coming down the ICW was free.

Not interested in your business, 2014-11-14
Captain: , St Augustine, Fl (480)

$10.00 Cash for water even when buying Gas. The diesel price was almost 4.50 a gallon when every one else is in the $3.80 range.
They do get an extra start because the dock hand was friendly.
We will not return. not stop, 2014-04-07
Captain: , Oriental, NC (60)

Very unfriendly staff. Pumpout price anywhere from $15 to $30 cash. We were getting fuel, paid cash for pumpout. Dock person untied our bowline and threw it aboard BEFORE we even had the engine running. Heavy current almost put us into the boat behind us. DO NOT STOP unless you have no other choice.

Expensive with very little for the price, 2013-01-07
Captain: , Muskegon, MI (980)

The Bathrooms and Showers are extremely dirty and not maintained at all. This Marina caters to long term large yachts and fishing boats giving little assistance to transients. For the price per foot they could at least clean the facilities.

Convenient, 2012-08-29
Captain: , Atlanta, GA (291)

This is our standard fuel stop coming in from the Bahamas. Can be a little tricky in a sailboat due to current and wake, but manageable.

GREAT SPOT, 2012-04-11

ROTTEN PLACE, 2012-04-10
Captain: , Harrison Twp, MI (350)

DONT GO HERE. Read other reviews, but this place is the worse I've ever seen. MOST TERRIBLE PLACE TO GO. I can attest.

Not good option for mosst sailboats, 2012-01-16
Captain: , Apex, NC (224)

We pulled up here for fuel and a pumpout. Althought they have a low dock, that would have made tying up easy, they directed us to the high dock, even though the dock height was over 8 feet above our deck level. The dockhand said it was because that is where the pumpout was.

After we pumped out, he THEN said, $15 cash for the pumpout. We were taking on fuel as well, and I have never paid for a pumpout when taking fuel, but that was the price. UGH. Fuel was $4.35 a gallon, not horrible, but not cheap eather. I paid via CC in the office, and the staff there barely ackowledged my existance. The itemized bill read $15 for 15/20 gallon pumpout.

Environment?, 2012-01-04
Captain: , Cincinnati (10)

Environmental impact fee for a small bag of trash. A charge for 10 gal's of water? Passanger drop off fee? Give me a break, never again!

Easy spot to get fuel, 2010-06-30
Captain: , Nabbs Creek (188)

Pump out stations were all down when we where there. Call before to see if they are fixed.

Convenient, bumpy but great people watching, 2010-06-06
Captain: , Port Aransas, Texas (998)

Two nights at the floating fuel dock were good. Restaurant has grill and upscale dining. A marine parts store next door as well as a haulout yard. Fuel dock store fairly well stocked. Nice personnel Publix, Blue Water Books and West Marine only 1.4 miles.

Very convenient, 2007-02-09
