Reviews for Langley AFB Marina, MWR
Resterant more than a Marina, 2015-05-20
Captain: , Yorktown (83)

The LAFB marina has nice docks at a slightly less rate than marina's very nearby. The marina is well maintained and extremely clean. The marina's major issue is that of service (fuel & pump-out) is essentially unavailable. The staff when there are excellent. However, since the marina office is only open M-F from 8-3 and an employee must operate the pump out it requires you to either be in transit, retired, or take some time off from work for the most basic of services ( Note: The fuel dispenser is inop as of this posting). Additionally, these limited services are usually not available during the marinas restaurant lunch time (11-1:30) business. I wish they would have an attendant for limited service for boaters on the weekends. It appears the money being earned from storage of the many boats in dry/wet slips and restaurant is being siphoned off to pay for other MWR services.

Nice folks, great facility., 2014-07-24

If you're active duty, retired or DOD, this is a pretty nice spot. The manager is a wonderful man and the facility is spotless. However, it is rarely manned. Better be comfortable docking by yourself! We're pretty independent and I think we could live here. Prices are very reasonable.

The LAFB marina boast some nice docks and very reasonable rates. In general the marina is well maintained and extremely clean. The single boat ramp suffers from some serious design flaws but the management has done its best to mitigate the hazards of a sharp concrete corner and the adjacent fixed dock. The marina's downfall is that service (fuel & pump-out) is essentially unavailable. The marina office is only open weekdays from 9-3 and an employee must be present to dispense fuel or use the pumpout. Since they don't want to do either of these during their lunch time (11-1:30) the window for service is extremely limited. There is no weekend service.

Great spot if eligible, 2013-08-28
Captain: , Fairfield Harbour, NC (50)

The docks were in excellent condition. Only 30 Amp power. Bathroom was new and hospital clean with 24 hour access. Short bike ride to BX and Commissary. Military ID required, need to be active, retired or eligible DOD. Amy the dock master was personable and very helpful. However, there is no one avail to help with docking. Pump out and gas also available.

You need to be active military to use this marina, 2012-06-11
Captain: , Gloucester, Va (222)

We bought our current sailboat which was in a slip at Langley. Clean & nice with a restaraunt & bathrooms with showers. Water depth is marginal - 5 feet or less at entrance at low tide. You have to be active military to stay here. We had to be signed in by our previous owner just to get in to move our boat. But if you're in the military, or are a veteran it's pretty affordable to keep your boat here. Better like the sound of jet fighters taking off on a regular basis!

Clean marina with new faciliteis for military ID card holders, 2011-05-08
Captain: , Williamsburg, VA (107)

Marina has nice facilities including floating docks, power, water, showers. Hours are limited, however, so I recommend you call ahead if you need fuel or pumpout to make sure they are open. I believe you have to be eligible for MWR services to use this marina (i.e. military ID card holder, DoD employee, etc)
