Reviews for Lake Barkley State Park Marina
dinged prop entering, 2016-10-17
Captain: , Annapolis MD. (141)

As we came along the south shore of the channel we touched bottom (36' trawler). When leaving, we dinged the prop on rock (stump?) just after we passed the peninsula at pairs of greens and reds. We were in mid channel. Pool level was -4' at time. Channel in/out ranged from 4' to 18'. Marina was fine but no showers.

Enjoyable Large Marina, 2016-07-30
Captain: , Johns Creek Georgia (180)

I stayed here the first week in July. This is a large, well kept marina that takes 20 minutes to cruise to from Lake Barkley. There was alot of boat traffic on July 3rd and 4th. I fueled up, got a transient slip anhd ate at their hamburger shop. The facilty is very good, as are the people and the prices are very reasonable.

Enjoyed Our Stay July 26 and 31 2015, 2015-08-03
Captain: , Green Cove Springs, FL (728)

It is in excellent condition%u2014very clean and well maintained. Any interaction with staff was pleasant and they were very helpful. Restrooms are a far walk from the larger docks, no showers noted but they may have one. Did not make it to the Lodge but was told that you could call and they would pick you up at the Marina and take you there for dinner. We ate at Captain Jim%u2019s on the water, which has a limited menu and kitchen but acceptable after a day on the lake/river.

It is okay, 2015-05-09
Captain: , Gulf Breeze, Florida (20)

We called the day before to use the transient dock. The young man answered the call with "Hello?"....should have been a heads up?
The dockhands do not have ship to shore; they use cell phones and holler back and forth to the boats coming in.
We were put in a covered dock which was very nice to have, but our beam only had about 15 inches clearance....could have put us in elsewhere but okay. They do not have power except in covered docks.
Restaurant not open; State Park restaurant a hike uphill and not a good option for bad knees on one boat captain.
That being said, those of us who walked around the area thought the park was really beautiful.

Winter Pool, 2014-11-21
Captain: , Nashville (118)

Country resort feel, low water in the channel coming in (favor the green bouys and radio the dock for special directions in the final pair of bouys - it's a little tricky).

Docking fees, 2014-10-18
Captain: , Marissa IL (52)

As of October 2014 the fee was $1.00 per ft.

Disappointing to say the least., 2014-07-18
Captain: , Illinois (2573)

We tried to spend the night here in a transient dock. Bottom line, they require a copy of your liability boat insurance in the amount of at least $300,000. Very few marina's require proof of insurance for transients. I have never experienced it in our travels.
We had planned to fuel up, visiit the lodge restaurant and the on dock grill.
We do have insurance but not that much. We opted to just spend our money somewhere that appreciates our business.

Lake Barkley Marina, 2014-07-12
Captain: , Franklin ky (40)

Used boat ramp to put in our 22 ft cuddy cabin the ramp is very short but with enough room to set up to back boat in with plenty of room to maneuver boat in water with area to tie up for loading gear or crew. Fueled at marina staff helped with lines at docking and did an excellent job with fueling 5 out 5 but they are only seasonal help from my understanding. We motored over to courtesy dock no staff so on your own for handling lines.Ate at restaurant standard American food 3 out of 5 because of the wait and you order at window food was good.

Not so good..., 2014-06-25
Captain: , Grand Rivers, KY (37)

Came down from Grand Rivers to check this place out hoping to bring some golfing buddies along later this summer. I'll go somewhere else. No showers at the Marina even though there web site says so. They put me in a slip that was a little small for our 40' boat, it fit but it was tight. No cable TV even though advertized. Telephone # in Quimby's is wrong and they did not respond to a radio call 2x on both channels 16 or 68 as advertized. If you don't have to don't stay here.

Nice facility - horrible staff - By pass if possible, 2014-06-16
Captain: , Punta Gorda FL (1709)

This marina was a real disappointment. Facility is nice, but the staff is awful. Example - before we came in we visited the office. They told us to hail them on VHF 68 before we came and they would help us tie up. We did 5 times and no one answered so we called. They had 5 boat boys standing around and not one bothered to get of their butt to assist. The girls behind the marina counter were two of the snottiest we have ever come across. Next the marina WIFI is very poor here. When we complained the manager told us they were a marina and not a resort. Hmmm. The marina is owned by a private corporation and is separate from the state lodge. Marina restaurant is poor and tables are covered with flies. We cut our stay short and left. By pass this marina and anchor out up stream around Goat island. Maybe the corporation will get the message.

Lake Barkley Marina, 2013-08-11
Captain: , Louisville, Ky. (200)

Docks much cleaner than 2 years ago. Harbor master very conscious and helpful. Be sure to have proof of liability insurance (300.000). Restaurant in lodge very disappointing . Have liquor available but do nothing to promote it. I gave this place 4star based on the marina alone. Restaurant would be 1star.

Good cheap dockage, 2012-04-02
Captain: , Key Largo (5457)

Covered, $20 a nite for a 36 footer in 09.Follow marked chanel off rdb .Entrance to actual marina between pennensula and island marked with no wake bouys on either side. Go in where you see fuel docks and go to fuel docks first. Insuance papers required.Follow your charts.

High Quality Docks, 2011-10-21
Captain: , St. Augustine, FL (4307)

It is 2 miles up Little River, some of the markers are not in the right places, so a bit of a challenge. Like new, covered docks, with ample electricity, good WiFi. Verizon signal very week, one washer/dryer in old park building a walk up the hill, and the staff is confused on working with transients. We liked it enough to stay on both upstream and downstream legs.

Great Condition, 2011-06-19
Captain: , Chattanooga (20)

Great stop along our trip to Chattanooga. We were put in a covered slip for the night and the cost was a very reasonable .75 a foot. We made it just in time before the snack shop closed and the food was better than expected. Docks are in great condition, clean and well protected.

Have your proof of 300T liability insurance, 2009-10-19

Marina Review, 2009-07-14
Captain: , Eddyville, KY (282)

Excellent Marina, easy access to fuel with courtious attendents. Mini store along with food stand (good, albeit expensive) sandwiches, right at dock. Clean showers and restrooms. Well shelters docks and moorings. Both excellent condition.
