Reviews for Lagoon Cove Marina
Great Welcoming, 2017-07-06
Captain: , Portland, OR (250)

Update with new owners. Have done a nice transition. Still kept the traditional prawn fest and fun things and added a few of their own items like a table tennis game. Very friendly and welcoming. Super spot to stop.

Very accommodating marina. Pat, Bob and Jean do a very fine job on keeping the place looking great and being so friendly. Of course we had prawns for apps.

Nice docks, good power and water. Have fuel but we didn't need any. Bought two warm tops from their store.

Jean is officially listing the place so we hope the new owners will do well.

New Owners...Great Stop, 2017-06-18
Captain: , Seattle, Wa (111)

The new owners seem to love the place and the cruisers and are making a strong effort update and improve the marina without removing the fun and comradery of the prawn pot luck happy hours. It is one of the places that are keeping the Broughtons a cruising destination rather than just a stop on the way to Alaska.

Wonderful place, 2016-07-02
Captain: , Bozeman, MT (740)

Peaceful and beautiful setting. Jeanne, the owner, is perfectly lovely and everyone on the docks was extremely friendly. The happy hour with prawns was great and we really enjoyed walking the trails and lounging in the grassy garden soaking up the sun.

Very Hospitable Marina, 2014-08-30
Captain: , San Diego, CA (480)

Stayed here 8/30/2014. Quiet time of year at the end of the boating season. Pat and Bob are doing a great job making everyone feel welcome. Will definately stop here again next year. One minor correction to moorage fees.... it's .90 cents a FOOT not a meter. But it does have a Wi-fi now and most boats can get it without going up to the maintenance shed.

Still a Great Destination, 2014-07-30
Captain: , Kirkland, WA (4478)

Not quite the same without Bill but Jean, along with Pat and Bob, are keeping Lagoon Cove the frienly, warm, destination that it has been. As always, the Prawn centric Happy Hour brings all the wonderful guests together for food, drink, and interesting conversation. The marina is listed for sale and we hope the new owners will maintain the warm friendly atmosphere of Lagoon Cove.

Busy place - crammed in tight, 2013-08-30
Captain: , Cruising (3310)

This is a warm and friendly place, with nice hiking trails and even swings for grown-ups to use. Appy hours with fresh prawns provided - organized so people line up for the food - bring your own plates. The clothing in the gift shop was nice and reasonably priced. They don't take reservations, but they almost never say no. They will cram and wedge boats in everywhere, sometimes much too tight. Pat and Bob are very competent and organized.
The place is for sale since the owner passed away.

Friendly, welcoming place, 2013-01-05
Captain: , Seattle (690)

We had a great stay at Lagoon Cove in August 2012. They were able to accomodate us, but be careful of the inside dock on the North side. The owner, Bill, guided us in but urged us not to "scratch his rocks" with our props. It was a bit tight, but no problem. They have a group happy hour or putluck every day, and often a singalong back by the campfire. Bill is a great storyteller. Good crabbing nearby - Bill will tell you where, and fresh shrimp heads for bait. Bill goes out every day to a secret spot and pulls in a load of fresh ones for happy hour. There is a crab boil station on one of the docks. Great place - we'll be back!

Great first stop, 2012-09-03
Captain: , Seattle, WA (437)

Great first stop on your way into the Broughtons. Very friendly and relaxed with trails to stretch your legs and a great happy hour. Yummy prawns! Fuel price was competitive. Bill is a good marketer.

There's always room!, 2010-12-24

Bill will fit you in no matter what! Having a smaller boat, I've been in some peculiar nooks and crannies there. Always fun. Never needed dinner after the Happy Hour!

Great spot where the owner remembers your name from year to year. Best appetizer pot luck nightly, with prawns supplied. Can be crowded, with rafting required in busy months.

Great pot luck, 2009-12-10
Captain: , Sidney and Calgary (309)

Make sure that you are in the Marina by 4:00. The pot luck starts at 5:00. You bring an appetizer and libations, and the marina supplies the fresh crab and prawns. Chat with other boaters. On some days fresh baked goods are available. The internet access is free but slow.

Lagoon Cove, 2008-01-21
Captain: , West Vancouver, Canada (121)

A great place to spend a couple of days after beating your way up Johnstone Straght. Good prawning and fishing is near by. Welcoming hosts Bill and Jean go out of their way to accommodate visitors. Fuel and limited fishing supplies are available. Bill is awlays able to find space for "just one more boat". Limited power is available on the docks.
