Reviews for Lafitte Harbor Marina
Marina under new ownership, 2016-11-03
Captain: , Kenlake Marina on Kentucky Lake (160)

We stayed here for two nights 10-22 and 23-2016. Marina has new owners who ar friendly an cooperative but marina is not set up for transients. We had a shallow slip but no power. Stern in but too shallow and choaked with water hiacynths too get all the way in the slip. Talked with owner and he has plans to create two transiant slips with 50 amp power. Diesel fuel plentiful. Off the beaten path in Cajun country. Excellent eatery nearby. $80 cab ride to the French Quarter. We had a challenging and stressful crossing of Barataria Bay trying to get to the Empire Lock to enter the Mississippi River. Local description of the crossing was not adaquate. A great place for fuel, 2014-04-04
Captain: , Jamaica Beach, TX (180)

We tied up to their bulkhead one evening and got fuel thenext morning. There is a nice marine store and grocery on the property and it appears they mainly service the oil, gas and fishing vessels.

The cruise down the canal from the ICW to the marina is worth it - beautiful houses, landscape and shrimp boats

The Route 45 bridge north of the marina - we arrived at 7 p.m. and it took us two hours to get the person in the bridge tenders office to answer the radio and swing the bridge open. On the return trip north the next morning she swung the bridge open within 10 minutes of our request.

Side of the canal, 2011-09-14

Mostly serves oil/gas fishing vessels on the side of the canal.
