Reviews for La Playita Marina
Worst Marina EVER!, 2016-03-21
Captain: , Hamilton, Ontario (612)

They now charge $50 per week to use the dinghy dock, and unless you purchase 200 gallons of diesel, they want $30 JUST TO STOP FOR FUEL!!. All except one girl, the staff are rude and want nothing to do with cruisers. Sad, because even though the anchorage outside the marina is horrible, it the best of all the horrible places to stay in Panama City... Sad, sad, sad...

Anchorage and dinghy dock, 2014-09-03
Captain: , Singapore (66)

No space in the marina. Mainly for local "stink pots". The anchorage is rolly and the dinghy dock costs 35USD/week (from Monday to Sunday If you arrive Sunday, you pay 35$, and pay again on Monday. Still one of the better options, the others being Las Brisas (dangerous dinghy "dock"), and Balboa Yacht Club, even more rolly with all the tugs driving by.

rude employees, 2013-03-13
Captain: , N.C. USA (110)

I have never met a ruder marina staff, I would never use this facility again. The dinghy dock is way overcrowded.

Good place to kick off from, 2013-01-14
Captain: , Sydney Australia (151)

Good holding in the anchorage (mud). Quite busy with transit boats (why else would you be here). Get you fuel & water around at Flamenco - La Playita fuel dock is dysfunctional at best

Had a good time here, 2012-04-18
Captain: , Nanaimo, BC, Canada (472)

We anchored just outside the marina basin and met many cruisers taht helped us with prepping our transit of the canal . The marina itself is a small facility so you'd better make sure you have reservations. You can use their facilities for dingy tie up, but it's $35 a week and they charge you for everything.

Was a good base for the west coast and Panama City however.

Balboa La Playita Marina, 2011-08-19
Captain: , Seattle, Washington (285)

Reasonably small and new marina as of 2011.
Few amenities but secure and clean. Much less surge than nearby Flaminco Marina and reasonably priced.
