Reviews for Key West Westin Resort and Marina
Its now the Margaritta Resort & Marina, 2017-02-18
Captain: , Daytona beach (90)

Great location. We were In the south basin. Pump outs hidden by the Fury Cats, nothing on landside. Very responsive and helpful staff. The occasional wake that other reviewers mentioned is true, but very livable. Fun to watch the parade of cruise ships. Never heard the Disney tunes from the Disney ships. Some crew went on a parasail adventure, the other a fishing charter. All arranged in the marina area.

Best Location on Key West, 2016-04-04

Just on the other side of Mallory Square, easy walking distance to almost everything touristy on Key West. Personal opion but we enjoyed watching the cruise ships come and go. You are pretty removed from all of their passangers, never found them to be a problem. If you want a place a little quieter than the marinas on Key West Bight but still in walking distance this is the place. Definitly the sunset views on the island, totally unobstructed plus all of the amenities of the Westin Resort.

The downside, you can get a fair amount of rocking caused by waves coming in from the gulf, it all depends on the wind direction.

Rock and Roll!, 2015-01-02

Spent New Years 14 here. I so wish we could have stayed at Conch Harbor, only last minute New Years slip available. Staff was very good. No power the first night, fixed the next morning. Marina baths were terrible, used by 100's of cruise ship passengers daily. Weston nice enough, fair restaurant. Definitely a hub of activity and no wake control. Went to Conch Harbor for fuel and pump out.

Beautiful resort but tough marina, 2014-07-28

This is a beautuful Resort and Marina. I suspect people's opinions will vary wildly here. The resort is located in the most prime area of Key West. Close to all shopping, restuarants and directly adjacent to Mallory square which hosts live entertainment every evening. This is, unfortunately, also it's Achillles heel. It can be CRAZY here...especially in the evenings or when the cruise ships are in town. If you've ever been to Times Square, you'll have an ides what things can be like. What everybody has said about the marina is true. Very nice, but also can be very rough. Depends on the boat traffic. The resort is also pet friendly.

Only because I coundn't give a zero, 2014-02-28

Staff- excellent
Sunset view - Excellent
But the wakes and rolling from any west wind makes the stay unbearble. It was worse than the crossing - we couldn't even stand or walk on our boat without holding on. The engineer should be disbarred.

This place rocks!, 2011-05-13

That is from sunrise to sunset as boats pass at high speed and wake every boat in the marina. The marina is also very busy with the Fury operation that runs snorkling, jet ski, sunset cruises and para-sailing. The power is only 205VAC.

On the positive side, the marina is well located in downtown Key West and close to all attractions. You also have access to all the features of the resort.

ROLEY POLEY, 2011-04-02

The worst marina I have ever docked at. The No Wake Zone is not enforced and with a westerly wind you will get seasick at the dock.

Westin, 2009-10-04
Captain: , Houma, LA (417)

I agree with the other reviews. A really nice place that is centrally located. The only drawback, is you have to like lots of people around you. The cruise ships disgourge passengers at the dock and you will be surronded by them during the day, until the ships leave. Not a good place for hermits!

Have Dinner at Sunset Island, 2009-07-06
Captain: , North Palm Beach, FL (539)

Had a perfect evening and fine dinner at Latitudes Beach Cafe on Sunset Island on the 4th of July, 2009. Make your reservation with the Conceirge, catch the ferry from the Westin to the nearby island (10 minute ride) and enjoy open air dining and the sunset. Very good food at mid range prices. Service nearly perfect. I rate it a 9.5 on 10 scale.

From T&T
We stayed at the Westin Resort Marina (used to be the Hilton) We shared the cost with the couple that was cruising with us and that made it very affordable for Key West. It was $3/foot +$18/day Elect.
Sounds pricey, but works out to $3.50/foot or $1.75 for each of us. It was just down from Mallory Square (we walked over with our wine glasses each evening to toast the sunset.) We had use of the gorgeous pool and Jacuzzi, til midnight. It was quiet, easy to get into, and beautiful new floating docks. The cruise ships docked right in front, and it was especially fun to watch them come in and head out before sunset--- Nothing is allowed to block a KW sunset!!----
