Reviews for Key Largo Harbour Marina
short stay, 2016-08-03
Captain: , Milwaukee WI (547)

We stopped here because we needed to replace a battery. Marina had none but there is an auto store nearby.

Only one slip open, near fuel dock and on busy channel. No one to help us dock except other boaters. Lots of liveaboards here, which is where we got most of our help and advice. Marina workers seem to be mostly launching and retrieving power boats stored on lifts in their buildings.

Location worked for us as we had access to a car and got battery, groceries etc. Marina had laundry and wifi. Topped off fuel before heading out.

New Ownership = Excellent Service, 2016-01-26
Captain: , New Orleans (306)

Just had our 42' sailboat hauled out and the bottom painted. We can't say enough good things about the staff at this marina. The owners are there everyday and very active in the operation of the yard. They are making improvements to the facilities. It's never fun to live "on the hard," but the staff here made us feel at home.

easy fuel stop, 2016-01-04
Captain: , Newport, RI (310)

stopped here for fuel - met the new owners, they don't seem to have a lot of experience, but they are friendly - even though the side to fuel stop is easy and they have 90 octane non-ethanol gasoline, there are no attendants......its "self service"

New Management - buyer beware, 2015-07-22
Captain: , Tavernier, FL (10)

Although this was a first rate facility in the past, this is under new management as of about 6 months ago. I had my boat there for a week but I used an independent contractor that I knew for all the work and I?m glad I did. Beware of work the yard does. I saw some very suspect work being done on other boats and many boats not getting worked on. As was said in another review, the yard is adding a heavy surcharage and while they say prices haven?t gone up, they have. It?s a very nice yard and marina and one of the few that have the capability for medium to large boats, however, I would suggest caution and vigilence on all work being done there.

New management...very inexperienced, 2015-05-05
Captain: , Pensacola, FL (10)

New owner. New staff. Tried to be hepful but incompetent. Eg. could not properly tie off on fuel dock pilings. Techs all contractors. They referred us to their mechanic who was required to bill through the marina. Marina charged additional 25% for mechanic's time and for parts. They charged for five hours of his time when he actually spent about three hours. None of these charges was discussed in advance. They backed off when I complained. Seems like a basic working boatyard but let the buyer beware and get estimates in writing.

Good marina..Very good boatyard, 2014-03-24
Captain: , Punta Gorda, FL (366)

We left our boat here for a week to get the bottom cleaned and painted. Nick and his crew did a great job. They kept the boat's electric connected while on the hard. The crew did a great job cleaning the bottom and painting. The price ($12/ft not including paint) is very good.
We stayed a couple of nights extra to let some weather pass.

Great Service, 2014-01-29
Captain: , Charleston (10)

We arrived a day earlier than expected and were treated extremely well. Nick and Junior did everything possible to make the arrival smooth. Thanks very much.

Just what I need in a Marina, 2013-10-08
Captain: , Florida Keys (31)

The entire crew could not have been more helpful. Mike took our first call and gave us his personal number since we came in late just to be sure we got to the right dock and got setteled. oh and it was his day off when we finally arrived. The night guard was very helpfull to let us out to go to dinner and then back in when we returned. Junior in the office did us a big favor that was above the norm also. This is a full service marina if you should need repairs. Very easy access. Great service I will be back.

Basic with No Frills, 2013-03-13
Captain: , Charleston, SC (284)

Easy access, showers, quick mart down the road. Good stop over if you really need one or someplace to do quick, basic repairs.

High priced and misleading, 2012-08-27
Captain: , Melbourne Fl (31)

Told we could haul out our Cat there, only to be towed in, very expensive and we had to go to another local boatyard which does Catamarans. Spoke to a couple of other custoemrs in the yard which were dissatisfied. Other yard was great.

Simple working yard, 2012-05-18
Captain: , Old Saybrook Ct (210)

Came in here 5/10/12 for parts had lost your altinator on a 36 ft Pearson the night before. Got it ordered and shipped overnite. Its a simple working yard but found it to be very friendly. If your looking for amenities go elsewhere. Baths/showers were clean, had free laundry and ice.

Take it or leave it!, 2011-03-17
Captain: , Murfreesboro, TN (360)

That seems to be the prevailing attitude with with no apology for inflated prices. Make sure you get it in writting.

Not that bad of a place if you only need fuel and water., 2010-06-25
Captain: , Nabbs Creek (188)

We needed a close place that had fuel and could take a 24' beam catamaran. We fit but it was close on both sides at the mouth. Once at the marine fuel dock no one came out to great us or help us tie up. The only two times I saw some one was when the pump needed to be turnned on and when i had to pay. Oh well, we only needed fule and water and we got the heck out of there any way.

Doesn't Deserve A Star, 2007-12-02
Captain: , Ft. Myers (376)

A true pit but still $2.00 a ft. A dirty boat yard, very short finger piers, no security, and filthy restrooms. We would have moved after we saw the place but it was late when we arrived. Someone even called us on the VHF to warn us but we were already there. They took the money and went home.
