Reviews for Kennebec Tavern and Marina
Lots of dock space, 2012-07-07
Captain: , Marietta, Ga (82)

Although it was Heritage Weekend we were able to tie up. Regardless of the current when you arrive, tie up bow north. The ebb runs at 12 kts and if you have a heavy boat the docks can't take it. No power but there is a long hose to top off your tanks. $1.75/ft cuz we ate at the Tavern which, tho generic seafood, was pretty decent. Dot's Ice Cream shop has the BEST ice cream possibly in New England, if not the US.

Reservationsdifficult to Get, 2010-10-16

Getting them to anser phone is tough, but this is a decent place to stay if you want to see Bath. Be careful going under the railroad bridge if you go under the east art versus asking for an opening. Dangerous rock over there.

Good food with a lot of dock space, 2010-05-18
Captain: , York, ME (1880)

We visited in mid May, when the boating season really hadn't gotten underway yet, but there was lots of dock space so it shouldn't be too hard to get in for a meal. The food was good, prices reasonable for a waterfront restaurant. There were indoor, outdoor and covered deck options, which helped in the 20 knot wind and 30 knot gusts on the day we visited. Obviously anyplace on the Kennebeck has significant tidal current to be aware of, but it seemed to run parallel to the docks, at least on the flood, making things easier.

Just past the bridge, 2007-01-28
Captain: , Georgetown Maine (10)

The trip up the river is fun and smaller boars may go out via the back river for an interesting trip. The reataurant was locally called the "One Star" for a somewhat negative reriew in a Portland newspaper. Food is Maine Coast Average plus - which is OK. Good beers & wines. Dockage for restaurant at north end of docks. Fuel in the center. One block from groceries & hardware.
