Reviews for Kemah Boardwalk Marina
Excellent location and amenities, 2017-05-17
Captain: , United States (3192)

We spent a week here on a favorable weekly transient rate of $8/ft (plus $40 for 50a power). Docks and services are in good condition, restrooms cleand and well kept (and even had complimentary toiletries on our visit), nice pool and hot tub, and, of course, access to many restaurants and attractions.

It's worth noting that the marina and the entire Kemah Boarwalk complex is owned by Landry's, the megalithic restaurant and entertainment giant, and so unsurprisingly the closest restaurants are all Landry's properties such as Salt Grass Steakhouse. None of the on-site restaurants is particularly well-rated, but there are other options within walking distance.

We found the staff courteous and profesional. They are available to help take lines if you call ahead; we only needed their assistance at the pumpout dock which they needed to unlock.

The fairway along the west edge of the basin is narrow, and passing other boats with any wind can be a challenge. We were on a T-head and it was tight to spin our 52' boat around.

We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to stay here again. Only the noise from the amusement rides and a couple of late-night bars with music keep me from awarding the final star

pricey, but with great access to bay, 2015-07-29

KBM is really a nice place if you can get a spot. It's pricy...about $60/month more than most other places, but you're right on the bay.

Great Stop if you are in Galveston Bay, 2014-07-02

This is our home marina. The staff is very professional and the facilities are excellent. Most days the pool is almost empty. There are several excellent restaurants within walking distance of the marina and you will not find another area within several hundred miles that offers a wider range of marine services than Clear Lake

Walking distance many things, 2014-06-05

Walking distance to good food and good entertainment.
A little pricier to dock here, but being able to walk to most everything you need offsets that. It will be noisier on the weekends with all the tourists around, but if you have kids, they may like that.

VERY NOISY... but good location., 2014-06-03
Captain: , St Martin (161)

Good deep water, located before the bridge so allowing for taller vessel.
But extremelly noisy, impossible to listend to own music or TV without headset.
Restaurants are mostly deep fried unhealthy food.
Very heavy traffic on the weekend, impossible to enter or leave the marina.
Slip prices, electricity, etc are higher then neighboring marina and not worth it. but again the only marina to accomodate sailing vessel with 74 ft mast.
A mile away from to Target, Office Depot, Spec's Wine store, etc.
Make your own decision.

Great Marina, 2014-04-04
Captain: , Jamaica Beach, TX (180)

A wonderful, clean, well run marina with excellent facilities. Close to the boardwalk, restaurants and bars. One of the few marinas in the area with sufficent water depth when the north wind is blowing.

nice facilities, 2014-03-04
Captain: , Fort Worth, TX (935)

pool(very overused in the summer, they close it instead of keeping up with the chemicals, hot tub, small DIY work area, close to restaurants and walmart within 1 mile, Lots of boat related businesses and parts.very expensive for transients. Have had at least 2 fires on the docks recently. A good samaritan was fighting the fire before the fireman got there and the police told him to stop. That's just crazy. $300,000 liability ins. required.

I found this a great marina to visit, but not sure it would be my favorite for a long term. If you have a family, it is a great place as there is a lot to do and plenty of places to eat. I did expect a little more with how much money was spent on the whole Boardwalk concept to make the marina cater more towards a higher end crowd with ammenities to match. With this location and Waterford or Watergate docks and ammenities, it would be a force to be reconed with for the long-term slip lease Still a great marina and a really good choice for transients.

Nice Marine!, 2012-07-02

Nice Marine. Very Clean. We met good people here. Kudo's to Lucy and her staff from South Coast Sailing. Within walking distance of lots of touristy stuff. Which makes everything within walking distance very pricey. The marina is easy to enter and there's plenty of room to manuver. There are several tourist tour operators at the marina and they come and go in a hurry. Be aware of their schedule and give them a wide berth. They're just trying to make a living!

Excellent place to stay!, 2012-05-27

Easy access, great facilities and friendly staff. If you need assistance check in with Lucy & John at Southcoast Sailing located across from B Dock.

Great Place for Family or Party, 2011-01-26
Captain: , Kemah (37)

The Marina is next to the Boardwalk. There are several hotels within walking distance as well as numerous Restaurants. Cadillac Bar on the Boardwalk also serves breakfast as well as places mentioned in previous review. Laundry & Restrooms are clean. Small, well maintained pool is nice for the kids. Sometimes noisy at night from all the adjacent facilities but not outrageously so. Shopping well within walking ranges as well as the amusement rides for the kids. Reasonably priced, clean and well maintained. Facility presently being upgraded and has been well maintained. Repair facilities and Fuel Dock, pump out are not at Marina but within a mile further up the inlet.

FUN PLACE to go, 2010-04-30
Captain: , South Shore Harbour (48)

This Marina is a great place to spend the weekend or even the week. There are limitless rides restraunts and activities to do with a family or as a couple, but you need to be able to stand some kids particularly on the WEEKEND. Theres a hotel, but no place to get a full breakfast. You have three choices, Walk to IHOP down the street, go to the starbucks, or eat a small buffet at the Coffee House. There is one minor issue that I have with the harbour, it does not stand up well to hurricanes so they rebuilt it after Ike. All in all it is a wonderful place.

Very good marina, 2007-02-11

Easy access from Galveston Bay. Deepest marina in the area. All floating piers. Easy access to nearby restaurants and attractions.
